My experience with Bella Vista Christian Academy was beyond disappointing, and I ultimately removed my children because of it. The overall environment felt negative and, at times, openly unkind. I witnessed staff speaking to students in ways that were belittling and inappropriate. In one instance, a teacher used name-calling toward students--something that should never happen in any school, especially one that claims to reflect Christian values. Administration was equally frustrating. Concerns from both parents and students were consistently dismissed rather than addressed. Instead of feeling heard, I felt brushed off and judged. During a very difficult time in my personal life, I expected neutrality and professionalism, but instead experienced what felt like bias and a lack of basic understanding. Leadership was particularly concerning. While interactions could appear polite on the surface, the follow-through told a very different story. Decisions felt inconsistent and unfair, making it hard to trust the administration at all. The front office experience made things even worse. Shannon, who is often the first point of contact, was repeatedly rude and unprofessional in my interactions. The tone was unwelcoming and dismissive, which sets a terrible example for both families and students. First impressions matter, and in this case, they reflected a much deeper problem within the school culture. To be fair, not every staff member reflects this environment--Mrs. Quilcy stands out as kind, patient, and genuinely supportive of students. She deserves recognition for the way she treats families. Unfortunately, one positive example does not outweigh the broader issues. For a school that promotes faith and character, the lack of compassion, professionalism, and willingness to listen was deeply disappointing. I've been extremely impressed with my daughter's experience at Bella Vista. It's clear that this school truly cares about helping each child reach their full potential. The teachers and staff are wonderfully communicative and genuinely work to build strong partnerships with parents. First of all my son is the second youngest of 7. Our family has lived in tracy since the late 1990s. I have experience with the Tracy public school general institutes. As well as experience with the Tracy public charter school institutions. As well as with the Local Catholic private school institution. Bella Vista has surpassed all of these experiences and there's no other elementary school at this point in Tracy that I would recommend to send your child for elementary faith based education and enrichment. The teachers, the aids, the office staff are warm welcoming and responsive. The curriculum is challenging, accountable, and fun. The families and the classmates, are all on the same accord as far as having education and their faith at the forefront and the family reinforcement and support as their core focus. Every Wednesday their is chapel and a chance to fellowship and worship with your children and the faculty. Again, Bella Vista Christian Academy this is my top pick for elementary Education in the city of Tracy! read more

My son has been attending here since preschool. I have nothing but good things to say about this school. His preschool teacher Mrs. Mellick was an awesome teacher. She really cares about the students. My son's kindergarten teacher Mrs. Leggitt is outstanding. She is very caring, patient, and intelligent. Mrs Martinez is awesome, too. I never met such wonderful teachers and staff. My son came home every day during Christmas, singing "Jesus Loves Me." He LOVES school, and I'm beyond grateful every day. read more

Unequivocally, my wife and I made the correct choice when we selected the Bella Vista Christian Academy. Both our kids attend this school. The way there teachers have helped our kids develop individuality, while at the same time emphasizing self-discipline and respect towards others, has truly been a heartening experience. Bella vista is one of the best private school in Tracy. I am very happy that my daughter goes to this school and my daughter is very lucky to be at Bella Vista. The school has one of the best principle, amazing teachers and very helpful stuff at the office. My family have just moved to Arizona this month. Both my boy's (7 & 13 yr old) teachers have been outstanding and understanding of our situation. Distant learning have been a challenge especially in the middle of moving from one State to another but we were able to manage it! From another teachers standpoint, I know that Miss Quilici and Mr. Goodwin sincerely cared for my children. All of the Pre-K teachers were compassionate and caring for when one of my sons was in their class. Miss Maria most especially became my sons favorite in Pre-K. Mrs. McCarthy and Ms. Goodwin were awesome. Miss Quilici worked so hard to make sure learning doesn't stop in the middle of this pandemic. She was very helpful and listened to every possible question I would have throughout the year. She communicated very well. My son loves her. Mrs. Jackson and Mr. Schmidt made sure my older son was ready for Middle School. They both taught him to be independent. Mr. G continued to encourage my son to his full potential in Middle school. My son felt most comfortable with him. He enjoyed being in his class. Pam in the office is awesome. She is very helpful and kind. Thank You Bella Vista. Outstanding school! We searched everywhere in town for the place that gave us that warm loving fuzzy feeling and found it here. We were fortunate that a new class started right as we wanted to join and we scored the newest teacher, Ms. Starr!! Ms. Starr is by far the most caring and passionate preschool teacher I've met. Our daughter adores her and so do we. We made a request to remain in her class for one more year and can't wait to see our Daughter's progress. Most of the teachers are great and the school staff has been amazing (I'm that annoying mom that wants to know EVERYTHING). Pam is patient and kind beyond words. When we started looking for a pre-k/preschool program for our two children I was so nervous. I wasn't finding anything that I really loved. Of course I found places that I liked but nothing that really stood out and gave me the comfort I was hoping for. We had made the decision to enroll our 4yr old daughter at a different preschool when someone recommended I visit Bella Vista Christian Academy so I called and scheduled a time to come and see the place. From the moment I arrived I knew this was the place I wanted my children to be. Everyone was so welcoming and warm, eager to answer any and all questions we had. Willing to spend as much time necessary to ensure we got all we needed from our visit. When walking through the pre-k classes I was pleased to see all the amazing things they did with the children. I watched the teachers enjoying what they were doing, I saw a genuine love and care for all of the children and that was all I needed to seal the deal. This was the place!!! It's now been almost 9months and I couldn't be happier. Mrs. Terri Asfour is an incredible teacher! She loves what she does and really cares about the kids in her care. When my daughter started at BVCA I didn't realize how incredibly necessary pre-k would really be for her. In the short time she's been with Mrs. Terri she's learned how to write and spell her name, she knows her letters and can write them all, she's learned to pray and and also learned how to interact with other children in a positive matter, she's learned to positively express her frustration and LOVES going to school!!! Miss Lorraine is also the second pre-k teacher is she is just as wonderful and anyone that chooses BVCA pre-k program for the children would be lucky to have either one!! My son is 3yrs old and is scheduled to start in the Fall and we could be more excited!!!! Pam & Kim the school administrators are also incredibly helpful and really make sure to help everyone who needs it and make sure things are always fair and taken care of. My three year old has tried another school in town and it was a very hard transition for us from his previous in-home daycare. When we moved him to BVCA it was a night and day difference. He is excited and happy to go to school every day and loves his teachers. BVCA did such a great job helping him acclimate to his new environment, whereas the previous school just threw him into the class and repeatedly and publically would correct him on rules he hadn't been yet made aware of. My two grandkids attend BVCA and we could not be more happy with the school. The teachers are very attentive and caring. The skills they are learning will benefit them for a lifetime. My wife and I have been very happy with this school and I'd recommend to anyone that wants a Christian-based education for their kids. Our story: We've got 3 kids. We send our youngest (2nd grade) to BVCA by her request. She asked me one day after getting out of sunday school at church: "Dad, where can I learn about Jesus? We just play games at church but I want to learn about Jesus." (Yes, she actually said that). Good question. I told her that most of what I know about Jesus came from bible class at Christian school. I went to grades 4, 5, 11, and 12 at two different Christian schools and the rest was local public schools. So we asked around about Christian schools and Bella Vista was recommended to us. After taking her on the tour she was torn about leaving her current school friends but she said "I really want to go here". As parents we feel she's getting as good of an education as she had in our public school (which is highly rated) but IMO what's most important is that my daughter loves going there and says she loves chapel the best. The class sizes are small (~20 kids in 2nd grade) and the teacher's individual focus is evident. And even though it's a small school the technology, art, and music programs aren't lacking. The sports programs available are however - we make up for that with city league and travel ball. And while the cost is definitely a hit to our budget I believe it's very reasonable and well worth it. We recommend it and my daughter does too. read more

We Love this school times a thousand!! My review is primarily for the middle school as that has been our only experience. I have heard wonderful things about the other grades too. My daughter started in 6th grade in the 2020 school year during the craziness of navigating through COVID and it was a life saver. Our first experience getting a warm welcome and tour from Pam in the office I was already sold. She will take the time to answer any and all questions. The middle school teachers are very knowledgeable and supportive not just academically but personally and spiritually. They keep the students engaged and critical thinking. The best thing for us is my daughter wants to go to school and has a love for learning again. She talks about what they study in class, how her day was, the verses, etc. This was not the case at her previous school. (Update since last review.) My son just graduated from BVCA (Yippie, congradulations!). His aptitude, attitude, and future outlook on life has been very positive, thanks to the hard work from the middle school staff (and countless others) for being "on top" of the small classroom settings. All kids, mine included, try to get away with things (i.e., not doing homework, etc.) but the staff and small class sizes keep the kids/learners motivated and challenged to complete the assignments (actual learning and accountability). This has been a blessing to have our son in a Christ centered and focused school.
