Johnathan starts counting... As he breaks down the steps, he counts. 1...2... 3... 5...6... 7... 1...2... 3... and 5...6... 7... The music fades into the background; my concentration narrows in as I listen to the instructor count off, demonstrate steps, and try to follow his example. The foot steps following the salsa patterns form their own beat, as the class moves in unison. Since, I am taking classes with my group, Social Spanish; we received 50% off the normal student price. If you can get a group of friends to take the class with you; you can save a bundle off the normal price. If not, you can get a week long trial for free, if you swing by their location and pick up a business card. ;o) It's a nice way to get started into the genre that strikes your fancy. Friday nights, I spend 60 minutes of my evening in the company of Spanish speakers, as we learn salsa 101. The new faces have become familiar faces. We greet one another and chat about our day, and before I know it, it is time to start class. So far I am pretty pleased with what I've learned, and I am looking forward to future steps I'll learn. There are so many genres of latin music, I'd like to learn to dance to; some days I wish I could learn several simultaneously, but I'd rather stick to one at a time,.

I am taking private lesson with her. 4 hours/ week. She knows what I need, she explains so well on such a little thing, and she is a great teacher! A week ago I went to the studio. A girl Nataly gave me Jonathan Rodrudgez contact number for private lessons. Today, I sort out my work schedule for the next few months, so I called Jonathan and told him that I would like to sign up for the Early Bird 48 hours lessons for a price of $1,680. ( please see the first picture I posted or you can go check out their website for the packages they offer) On the phone, Jonathan mentioned nothing about the price. What he said to me was that he will check his schedule and then get back with me. 30 minutes later, I received his text ( please see the second picture) Where is the price of $2,400 coming from? Our guests loved it/ were blown away by our dance, and we loved performing it and learning it. Wedding prep can get stressful, and learning the dance and going to class was a stress reliever and a ton of fun. I have never done ballroom dancing before (my now wife had a long time ago ), but Anjulena was a fantastic teacher and could teach us and get us performance ready for the wedding! She choreographed the dance for us based on what we wanted, and it felt awesome to have someone who could make this dance into something we wanted. We told her what we wanted as the dance developed, and she could add in moves and make modifications to meet our needs. She is also super kind and even came to our wedding rehearsal to help us practice our dance and to make sure we were oriented correctly and comfortable to do our dance at the venue (for both plan A and the rain plan). Overall, I highly recommend working with Anjulena. If you have a first dance for a wedding, she's your person. She helped us create a memorable moment we will cherish forever (I have watched a recording of our dance a friend got for us so many times already!) and a dance that wowed our guests (everyone said it was the best first dance they have seen!). They have a sign outside that states first class free for first time members then they sing a different tune when you enter the facility. This is false advertisement in my book. The front desk lady even told me my first class was free but an instructor listening in told me I had to pay. On to the good part of my experience... Jonathan was amazing, patient and a good dance instructor. The moves were easy and fun. I will be back for his experience alone and take his classes. I plan to update my review at a later date with the other instructor working the same night who was not as kind and rude in my book. There is a Groupon (2 classes for 11 bucks ) that I purchased online.

I looked at classes, but realized until I can get out of my own head and loosen up the classes would never happen. I found Uliana on Yelp and decided to try my hand, or foot so to speak, at individual instruction. She is very accommodating and we corresponded a few times until I could get my schedule lined up. We immediately started on some latin dances, cha cha and salsa, and have remained so over the last month of lessons. I have taken two a week. She is very patient with me as I learn to move my feet. I am sure it does not help that I have not gone out in public, but that is not her fault. I believe a couple more lessons may get me over that hump. I would highly recommend her if you want individual instruction. I am so glad I did and thank her for so much help.

They all dance and we have tried many dance places over the years but Starlight is where we love to be. I really feel like we are family there. The owners are so great and the instructors are great. In recent years they have really expanded a lot. They used to be such a small place but the place is blowin up yall! Really though when you see a place growing so much you have to know they are doing something right. They offer a wide variety of dance and musical theater classes in a warm and inviting setting. I would highly recommend this studio. In fact all my kids prefer to go to Starlight and would never want to be anywhere else.
