I believe it was the owner, but he was very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The price was also very reasonable! $60 for hemming a multi layered gown and taking in the shoulders (and he even pressed it for me as a complimentary service). Compare this to the $50 at Stitch It in the mall that I paid about 7 years ago, to hem a cheap polyester dress! This shop will now be my go-to in the area for alterations and dry cleaning.

My winter coat was ruined and the lady/owner SCREAMED at me. AVOID!!!…read more I went to Sunflower 5-6 years ago, and in the past had great service. But I think the former owners sold the business to the new owner(s). I brought in a polyester and wool coat recently that's quite new (less than a year old, and infrequently worn). When I got it back, the color was dulled out, with certain parts of the lapels and sleeves were worn down (material was rough, the tan color is now white-ish). I asked the woman what happened, and if they used too much chemicals. She says her English is limited, claims the coat is clean (she thought I was saying the extremely dulled areas were dirty) and tries to talk to me in mandarin (I don't speak it), then later proceeds to SCREAM at me in mandarin. She calls up her daughter who speaks English on speaker. I explain to her daughter the situation, and the daughter says her mom is saying they followed standard procedure. We're speaking with each other (we're both calm), and daughter asks what I would like to do. I said, typically as a courtesy you could waive the cost of the cleaning on the coat (they really should cover damages, but at least they could waive the cleaning)... but honestly I'm just shocked your mom is screaming at me. As she's translating (again the daughter's tone is collected), her mom/the owner is SCREAMING in mandarin and looking at me with venom, and taking the coats to the back. Really terrible body language. In the end I couldn't get my coat and blazer back until I paid. But I even got yelled at when I told her daughter to let her know that for future customers just FYI to watch out for the chemical usage. Surreal and TERRIBLE experience. AVOID, unless you want your coats ruined and be screamed at.

Not sure if it was an employee or the owner that was working, but the absence of warmth when facing a potential customer or a customer left feeling like the business can go without our patronage was startling. It's too bad that the alteration shop we usually go to has closed, or else we never would've come here. We'll go somewhere else next time.

I also wanted a frayed bottom instead of regular straight cut and she said she would be able to do it. My jeans look so much more stylish now, can't wait to wear them! It was also super cheap (about $10 plus tax). Very happy!
