Established in 2010.
Launstein Imagery was established in 2010 representing the wildlife & conservation photography of John, Jenaya, Marlise and Josiah Launstein. Our art has gone on to be exhibited in museums and venues in more than 70 countries around the world. In 2013 Jenaya became on the second young woman ever to be named international Youth Photographer of the Year, and in 2015 Josiah became the youngest ever to be named Outdoor Photographer of the Year. The Launstein Imagery Wildlife Art Gallery opened its doors in the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, in July, 2016, and in addition to fine art prints now offers award-winning artisan bronze sculptures along with other wildlife art from Alberta.
Meet the Business Owner: John L.
John operated a successful commercial and fine art photography business for over a decade in British Columbia before taking an extended sabbatical to serve in non-profit leadership roles. He returned to nature photography in 2010 with his award-winning young daughter, Jenaya, before being joined in the field by son Josiah, who is now a two-time international Young Outdoor Photographer of the Year. John's wife, Melanie, co-manages their Wildlife Art Gallery with him, which also showcases art from their daughters Marlise and Charis as well as artisan bronze sculptures, carvings and nature-themed jewelry. John and his family are animal lovers and deeply desire their wildlife art to inspire others to care for and protect wild animals and wild places.
