Darlington's branch of Homebase is located on the retail park at the top of Yarm Road and therefore…read moreis easily accessed from the bypass as well as through the town. There is also plenty of parking outside. Although not the biggest store it has a good range for home decorating including paints and wallpaper, kitchens, bathrooms, garden furniture, plantsm and other diy related items. I have always found staff helpful but in comparison to the rival B&Q, they seem a bit sparse of the shop floor if you are looking for advice. Homebase regularly have 10% days or the like so if I were buying something big I would hang on till the next one or try and negotiate a discount.

We discussed the headboard for the mattress we were buying. NOT ACTUALLY INCLUDED, come to find. Shop assistant Owen called my husband to maltreat him over the phone, actually bullying him about our purchase. Completely outrageous behavior I've never experienced as an US citizen. I write a letter to the General Manager and he backs his staff and their incompetence and flagrant rudeness. NASTY COMPANY FROM THE TOP ON DOWN. The delivery men who dropped off my order were just as good, called twice before delivery to ensure we were aware he was coming and able to take delivery, they both took off their shoes to bring items in & were quite a good laugh! All round I would recommend this company to anyone & everyone
This is a brilliant shop for bargains (as the name suggests!). It's located just next to Argos, and…read moreopposite Sainsbury's, on the very edge of the main town centre. I only have one small niggle with the location, and that's the fact that it's on the outside, so if you park in the upstairs car park (which sadly I had to do last week as there was no room left in the downstairs open air section), you have to make a conscious effort to walk outside (away from the rest of the shops) to get to Home Bargains. Sadly, because it was in completely the opposite direction, I just forgot to call in last time, and wanted to kick myself when I drove past it on my way out of the car park! Anyway, niggles aside, it's a brilliant shop. They have a good selection of toys, always significantly cheaper than anywhere else. They also sell a good range of household products, kitchenware and bedding, also things like washing up liquid and washing conditioner - all at really good prices. They stock a good range of cheap gifts, and always have cheap food - nothing fresh, but they do stock tinned food, biscuits, coffee, crisps, that sort of thing. Often they are a bit closer to their sell by dates than you may get in the major supermarkets, but they are still within the dates and much cheaper, so it's definitely worth a look! Recommended!

All at highly discounted prices to what you'd pay else wear. I often get shampoo and Conditioner in here for the same price I'd pay for one in Boots, exactly the same brands, quantities etc. There is usually only one or two people on the till which can be very annoying as by the tills it is quite cramped. I would deffinatly check if something's in here first before spending a lot more else where though as everything you get in here is a bargain.

Alison's attention to detail is second to none. The whole process was an absolute delight, we were made so welcome. We would recommend Durham City Paint & Wallpaper Co. to anyone and would suggest a visit before looking elsewhere.

A lot of the food they sell is ultra cheap because it's near the sell-buy-date but that doesn't really matter as long as you don't put it in a cupboard and forget about it. They also sell cheap booze which is always a bonus! They change the stock very often in B&M Bargains so its worth popping in regularly to have a look round.

John was super helpful & he helped me find a carpet in store within my budget but still very good quality and then went above and beyond to do so when the original carpet I wanted was out of stock. Very quick turn around as carpets are booked to be fit on Tuesday, so literally 5 days from calling up they'll be down and sorted which is fantastic as I'm currently heavily pregnant and on a time limit. Nothing I asked was too much and the service was fantastic. Thank you so much.

This branch of TK Maxx is located on the right hand side of the main square on Teesside Retail…read morePark, about half way along, next door to PC World. This branch is split over two floors, with women's clothing, shoes, bags, and a few seasonal decorations on the ground floor. Upstairs, they have men's and children's clothing, toys and games, ornaments, kitchenware, lighting etc. TK Maxx seems to have a reputation (at least on the television) as being a brilliant place to buy designer clothing on the cheap. Well, I can't really dispute that as I don't bother much with the clothing. To be honest, I find it all a bit of a jumble, hard to find the right sizes, and to my mind the stuff is still over-priced! However, I do like TK Maxx for toys and for household items. I've managed to buy some real bargains int he toy department. The problem is, like the clothing, I suppose, it just depends on what they get in. You have to rummage around and you may find a single item that you like, but they will only have one of them most of the time! I did manage to get a lovely star shaped light-shade for about £6, which I know was £18 in B&Q (because I had already bought one!). So I would definitely recommend having a look round this shop - you could find bargain. The only real downside is the check out queues. I don't think I've ever been in without there being a long queue for the check outs, and it feels like it takes ages to get to the front! Oh, and the other thing I don't like is that they charge you for carrier bags!
