My fiance and I are getting married a week from Saturday; and couldn't be happier with everything Laura Hooper has done for our wedding. We decided to use her for her map save the dates (which turned out incredible) and in the end had her do our wedding invitations, place-cards & favors, rehearsal dinner invitations, bridal luncheon invitations, and she even made us tote bags and shirts for the wedding party! Everything turned out wonderful! The map save the date (which we used on the shirts and totes) was a great idea; those coming from out of town (were getting married in NYC) have used it to get their bearings of the city, and those from the city enjoyed seeing all the landmarks pertinent to our lives up here. It has been a big hit! Aside from her artistic abilities, Laura has been a huge stress reliever throughout the process. Dealing with her directly, we could count on her ensure everything was done perfectly, and have her give us a heads up on when to expect everything, which you can't get dealing with a huge supplier. It made the whole experience so much easier and less stressful! However, I think that best of all, we have appreciated the custom designs, unique to our wedding. SWOON!! I loved, loved, loved working with Laura! We asked Laura to create one of her fabulous maps for our Save the Dates. They came out sooo adorable and exceeded our expectations! She responded to me almost instantly each time I emailed her. The whole process was very fast and I received my STD's in only 2 weeks. Our guests loved them and many of the compliments we recieved were from guys! (Who says they don't appreciate the details?!) I loved my Save the Dates so much, that I contacted Laura to make my invitations as well! I met with her at her studio and we worked together to create my dream invites!! She has the most beautiful calligraphy and I just couldn't get enough of her. LOVE!! I found Laura through The Wedding Library in NYC. She has so many cute things -- including maps, totes, save the dates, seating charts, everything! When I went on to her site, I realized that she has already created a map of the area in Northern Michigan where I was getting married. Although I didn't know that I needed or wanted such a map, because it's a destination wedding, we thought it would be so fun to use the map as the background for our guest book (we're going to frame the map so that our guests can sign around it). We also decided to have prints made of the map for our wedding party. Not only is Laura's style so cute, and she was so easy to work with (because the map had already been created, I just made a few changes and it was really reasonable!), she responded to all of my requests almost immediately. Laura Hooper Calligraphy is a class act! I worked with Laura directly and she was so easy to communicate with and extremely quick to respond to my questions. The forms she provided for creating an order are very simple and easy to use. She's put a lot of time into making the ordering process easy and it shows. I ordered maps for my wedding guest gift bags and they were on my doorstep within a day or two of finalizing the proof. I couldn't believe how fast the turn around was and the maps are absolutely adorable! Laura improved on every tweak or change I had to the existing map I was using. I was referred to Laura by my best friend who had her wedding invitations done by Laura. They were absolutely gorgeous. I originally came to Laura to have her do my wedding invitations as well. When I met with her I also saw her maps. I fell in love with the attention to detail and customization of her maps. Laura created a map of Carmel, CA that was unique to my wedding. She was extremely flexible with incorporating all the sites that were significant for our event, and also added in some cute surprises. Our map is very fun and whimsical and a fantastic souvenir for our wedding. Laura also addressed our envelopes in calligraphy. They turned out gorgeous! Laura Hooper did the sand dollar place cards for my wedding. She was amazing to work with and the finished product was beautiful - my wedding guests are using them as Christmas tree ornaments - something I hadn't thought of! We had a destination wedding and the sand dollars that were shipped directly to the hotel got stuck in customs. Laura offered to re-create my set of sand dollars (in ONE day!!) and ship them to my parents so they could carry them on the plane - so amazing!!! She didn't even charge me for the second set. I could not be more impressed with Laura Hooper's work. I ordered calligraphy for place cards just last week, and I could not have been more thrilled when I opened them up today.
