We "sold" our home with Assist-toSell using the broker and his wife as our agents. First let me…read morestart by saying this our home is close and that's the only good thing we have to say. Our experience has so many details that I'm leaving out here for privacy reasons and to keep it short... basically we had a terrible experience. We were unable to get our home sold in a poor market with the time constraints we had so we added the option to do a Lease Purchase with the hopes that it might help somebody who couldn't get financing. The deal we agreed to was well below our asking price (which our asking was fair in comparison to other rentals in the neighborhood). We felt like the agents were working more for the buyers than us. Long story short, our agent (the broker) wrote a contract which wasn't even legal... they failed to enforce the terms of the contract while 'managing' our property. When I brought some items to their attention before the closing that was WRITTEN IN OUR SIGNED CONTRACT with the Buyer, they refused to present the Buyers with the information (money that was still owed) and held the closing over our heads. This ended up costing us thousands of dollars which were never paid. When I spoke to the real estate commission, they practically begged me to turn in paperwork to file a claim, which I will be doing as soon as I write up the statement and gather all my evidence. Aside from many unethical things that he did within the terms our contract, and generally making me feel bullied, he also broke the law according to the real estate commission because he refused to sign a property management agreement outside of our sales agreement (which I had requested) and he took commission before the sale of our home was complete.
