A must if you are looking for a good breakfast in Mount Pleasant. Visiting for work we didn't want to eat at some chain that was filled with unhealthy options-we liked it so much we have gone three times this week. Only good coffee in town. Loved the avocado toast, cookies are excellent. read more

Laura's is all around pretty great. Come here early for lunch for delicious tortilla soup and chicken salad sandwich. The soup is very tangy and limey, and the chicken salad on a croissent is just to die for. They offer a large variety of wraps, salads, and sandwiches for a light lunch downtown. It get's verrrrrry crowded around lunchtime, and they quit serving at 3, I think, so it is important to get there early since there is limited seating. If you can't make it out for lunch, they have a cooler where they have "lunchboxes" with a choice selection of their most popular sandwiches that are pre-made and boxed together with a pickle and chips Time to talk desserts. They've got some mediocre cookies, out of the box lemon bars, miniature pecan pies, but the real deal here is the cheesecakes. They have the classic flavors like plain, turtle, and strawberry, some seasonal like pumpkin and blueberry, and some you'd probably never think of like German chocolate and apple streusel. The classics are delicious, but my favorite is probably the brownie swirl cheesecake, which, as the name suggests, has chunks of brownies in it. Yuuuum. They also have a daily rotation of flavored gourmet brewed coffees. I've never tasted them, but I know that they smell INCREDIBLE! They sell the whole beans by the pound too, if you get addicted and don't want to run downtown for coffee everyday. read more

My husband and I stopped in for lunch. My husband had the brisket sandwich which came with au jus, chips, and a pickle. I had a half turkey sandwich with chicken tortilla soup and chips. The soup was excellent with a bit of lime added. The sandwich was made with focaccia bread and it was delicious. My husband said his sandwich was also delicious. I had the triple chocolate chocolate for dessert. It was smooth and chocolately but not bitter or over powering. The decor was cute but not over done. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely stop here again when I'm in the area. read more

Laura's is a great place for the family in the evening or lunch with a co-worker. The food is fresh. The restaurant has a warm relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend the cookies and cheesecake for dessert. This place has great views. I know several friends who have made reservations for class reunions here. This cheesecake is the best that I have ever had in this town! And I have tried so many other restaurant's cheesecake!!! I'm so happy that they have fresh coffee along with their cheesecake! The cheesecakes are out of this world, but the rest of the food there is to die for. The chicken salad (in a sandwich or just as a salad) is so tasty it's addicting. And the sweet tea???? Oh my gosh, there is nothing as refreshing. Best anywhere. The front of the establishment is a wonderful store filled with new and antique items. It's just a fabulous place to be even if you don't plan to eat. Oh, and by the way . . . . . . the cheesecakes can be shipped anywhere. They advertise on their website farm fresh eggs, only the highest quality Ingredients, etc., etc. yet when you read the actual cheesecake ingredients is has some of the worst ingredients for your health on the planet!..such as high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, soybean oil, and many other terrible preservatives. These ingredients cause disease and are super cheap rather than high quality!! read more
