My last two visits for tire rotation were NEGITIVE experiences. the first time they informed me that they broke off one of the lug nut studs. I told them since they broke it they were responsible to replace it, they REFUSED and short of a big argument they sent me on my way. New stud and lug nut cost me $15, installation cost me another $40. The second time I had a similar experience. This time the threads on one of the studs and lug nut were destroyed because they cross threaded the lug nut. They REFUSED to compensate me again. Another $55 out of my pocket. This is why they are receiving a 1 star review and I will never do business with them in the future. PS: Everyone makes mistakes, Why don't you own up to yours Tom Richey. read more

I've faithfully used this tire shop for the last 5 sets of tires. They don't stock my tire so I usually go to tire rack and order and ship them to these guys. The last time I went will definitely be the last time I ever go. I had tires installed recently and washed my car after the winter grime that was on it. I work on my car myself and usually don't trust a soul. But when it comes to having a tire machine I don't have one. Long story short I was suspicious when they had cleaned my wheels, no tire shop has ever wasted time cleaning wheels after an install of rubber. Turns out they broke 2-4 center caps on my car. Cleaned and glued them back on like I would never notice. I know they need to be pushed out so the tire can be adequately balanced. They never fest up to there mistake. I normally don't write reviews, especially for a tire shop. However, I think LG Tire deserves the 5-star rating... Although the wait was long (it was the first snow before Christmas, so everyone was getting tired) it allowed me the time to first hand see the wonderful customer service. Tom the owner is the kindest business owner I've ever seen, and he treats everyone with such compassion. Not to mention I saw him give the keys to his car so someone could leave their car here and go to a funeral and come back when the car was done (obviously a special use case, but how generous). I also witnessed another worker take someone home so they didn't have to wait, and I watched countless other instances of exceptional customer service. This is my second time back, but I will definitely be coming back for all my tire needs. Oh and the prices can't be beat!!! read more

An owner with zero accountability and horrific customer service. The front desk folks were delightful and some of the kindest individuals around. However the owner is beyond rude to his customers the second he thinks his wallet is on the line. I had an issue following my tire replacement where my car was suddenly VERY misaligned. This turned out to be an existing mechanical issue which lended itself to being misaligned more easily. Fair enough and after discovering it, I was happy to get the car repaired and aligned. However, until discovering the mechanical issue I had no idea what was wrong. All I knew was the car drove fine coming in and when I got my tires put on the car suddenly was crab walking down the road. Given the obvious I thought something went wrong during the tire service, so I brought the car back after driving one mile to test it out and be sure it wasn't just releasing agent wearing off or something else normal. When getting back to the tire shop, the owner's son was super courteous and helpful. Saying something akin to "that doesn't look right, oh yeah let's get this back in to help you out and see what's going on. We can talk to the boss man". At this point I'm thinking wow what fantastic service, he was kind respectful and open minded to finding out what happened. That is until I was handed off to the owner Tom. The front desk guy who brought me over to Tom simply opened with "hey boss we have a bit of a problem here". To which Tom's instinct was to immediately attack my character and accuse me of trying to defraud him and the company. He started telling to his son within ear shot of me "well do we still have his tires, tell him he can have his tires back and tell him to get the hell out of my business" to which I overheard and was immediately offended and tried to have a civil conversation and explain what I've described above. My car drove fine coming in and it all of a sudden is misaligned and driving sideways. I was in no way at this point in the conversation trying to lay blame on anyone. I was simply trying to understand what happened and ask the experts who change tires all the time for some advice and help so I can safely drive my vehicle home. Tom, the owner. He did not give me an ounce of credit, no benefit of the doubt, etc. He immediately started yelling at me, was close minded when I explained my car drove fine coming in. He kept cutting me off and just saying "how can you prove that you're not just saying that". Meanwhile I had just spent over $900 on tires, asked for recommendations on alignments and was actually planning on coming back to spend about another thousand dollars to get my girlfriends SUV's tires replaced in the spring. Tom just kept saying not my problem and never heard me out. His mind was made up from the moment his son said "hey boss, we have a problem". After confronting him on how aggravated and nasty he was being. He proceeded to flaunt how nice of a guy he was with every customer walking by us as we talked. Then he would turn to me and say "see, I'm nice to my customers". Meanwhile I learned all I needed to learn about Tom's character and how he runs his business in the first 5 minutes of interacting with him. I haven't experienced an individual so rude, so nasty in my life. Someone so unaccountable for their own actions and so quick to accuse and dismiss those around them. Tom withstanding, I can't emphasize how nice his family was at the front desk. Before this interaction I really believed I'd found a fantastic, honest, family owned business that I could see being my one stop shop for tires for my family for years to come. However, after my experience with Tom the owner of this business. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy and I wish the rest of his team all the best. read more

I've had AAA tow my car to Laurel Gardens Tire Service on several occasions in the past. I've always been greeted with fast friendly service at reasonable prices. I am so consistently pleased that when I was in the market for new tires before one went flat I went straight here knowing I wouldn't be ripped off. Be advised they do not make appointments. It's a first come, first served business. There is also very little parking. I would recommend calling ahead if you are looking for specific tires to make sure they are in stock (or can be ordered) before you arrive. When it's busy they will be honest about the wait. I went for new tires a few months ago and was told there was a good two and a half hour wait. I decided to leave and come back a few days later when the wait was only around 30 minutes. They do a brisk business and even on my return trip (I arrived a few minutes before they officially opened) I was the fourth person in the waiting room. I recommend Laurel Gardens Tire Service to anyone looking for new tires. It's a great small family-run business that gets you back on the road fast. read more

They talked me into used Cooper tires four months ago with a lot of tread on them for $182. Since then I have put almost 1,000 miles on the vehicle and three different times we had to take it back to the shop to be resealed. They have informed us that Cooper is known to leak at the rim and I was offered $100 off a new set of tires to replace them. The owner Tom is combative at times when confronted. We have been inconvenienced repeatedly by this issue and it still is unresolved. Why did they sell me a defective product in the first place. Problem: Flat tire. I came here after a different place tried ripping me off. Instead of having to pay $500 for four new tires, Laurel Gardens just fixed the flat for $20 or so. Took a tire to be fixed. The tire was already off the vehicle and I didn't have them remount it to the vehicle. Needed 2 patches. I was charged $43.00 and was told I got $10.00 off. I've had plenty of tires fixed and was never charged more then $25.00. When I questioned why it cost so much I was told a lot of b.s. after I left I called 3 other tire stores. Discount tire on 65, Pep boys, and NTB. All 3 were under $23.00. Called to complain and was totally dismissed by the manager and told just not to come back. Don't worry, i won't give my business to them again. It wasn't as much about $$$ but the the out right lies to my questions. I was treated like I never had a tire repaired before. read more

Absolutely consistent, excellent service. Service the North Hills and the greater Pittsburgh community for decades, Laurel Gardens is always respectful, pleasant, prompt and delivers a solid experience. Three generations [including myself] take our cars here for tire service, whether it's a standard rotation or purchasing new tires. They will not push sales you do not need, explain exactly what you can expect and what you need, no matter if you have purchased tires from them previously or not. When I brought my tire in last after an unfortunate slashing run in with an ex, they did not mind my mix and match sets from my newest used car purchase and offered me the closest replacement they had [was not a perfect replacement]. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Additionally, the price point is excellent. Only thing to note is that they are walk-in only and very popular, so keep that in mind when the first snow of the year hits and you only have a Saturday to get your tires changed. Got my tires here about a year ago and today received Grade A+ Social distancing customer service! I was so glad they were open! When putting air in my tires this morning I found a nail in one of them. Upon my arrival I was greeted with a sign to stay in my car, and then the owner came out to get my info, etc. and told me to drive into the garage and the guys would fix it. OMG i can't even begin to say how wonderful these guys are. Ive been visiting them for over 20 years and the service is still fantastic. They won't sell you tires if you don't need them. We are from Youngstown and came to Pittsburgh for a funeral. We hit something with the right front wheel. It blew a hole in the side of the tire. We didn't want to drive home on the donut. We stopped at several places to get a replacement but no one could help. One tire company suggested yours and within a half hour after finding you, we were safely on our way. Your service and friendly staff were truly a blessing to us. If we lived closer we would buy exclusively from you and we would not hesitate to recommend you to friends and family in Pgh. I do NOT recommend getting service for your car at Laurel Gardens Tire Service. I brought my BMW 4 series in for new tires and when leaving the facility and arriving home I noticed that my front left wheel was missing a Lug nut! I immediately called and reported this issue and was told to bring the car back in. I then drove right back to the shop. When I arrived I was told that the car was missing the lug nut when I brought it in, and that it was failed to be mentioned to me before I left. They claimed that it was noted beforehand, and when asked to see the note I was shown a hand written note that said missing lug nut. Nowhere was that info listed on my receipt and NEVER was it mentioned to me while I was paying for the vehicle before leaving. I was then informed that they don't carry those specific lug nuts in stock and I would have to go get them from the dealership. Clearly they failed to install the last lug nut (lost it) and tried pawning it off that the car didn't have one originally, calming they "forgot" to mention it to me before I left. Not only is it a safety concern to release a car without a lug nut, but also "forgetting to mention it" is unacceptable. My car was not missing a lug nut before bringing it to them. Be liable for your mistakes and make it right. read more

Highly, highly recommend Laurel Garden Tire Service - it is the only place we buy tires, and today served as another reason why. When getting the oil changed in our car last week, the mechanic said we had a broken belt in one of our tires. As the week progressed, I was concerned about driving with the tire this way and my car seemed to be driving differently. So I took it to Laurel Gardens first thing this morning and told them about this. They visually checked the tires and didn't see a broken belt but found damage from a pot hole, something they've been getting a lot of lately. They wanted to give it a thorough check, so I waited a bit. They then told me it was ready, and when I went to hear what was wrong and pay, they explained that they had taken the tires off and inspected them finding nothing wrong beyond the bit of rubber missing from the pot hole incident. They deemed the tires safe, and when I went to pay, they said there was no charge. This is why we keep going back. They have the best service, quality, and price. They are also where our regular mechanic buys tires for all of his customers, and Laurel Gardens is a huge supporter of school and community events. Love them and highly recommend!!! read more

i had them mount & balance 4 tires for me. I thought they did an ok job, until I looked closer at my nice aluminum wheels and saw 2 big gouges in them. I know for certain that they caused this by being careless with their impact gun, but they said that was impossible. Nothing against the employees just make sure the owner has nothing to do with selling you new tires. He seems to think it doesn't matter what size you put on a car or SUV for this matter. Then when you bring it back less then an hour later and point out his mistake he throws a hissy fit. Then over heard him calling me an asshole when he did realize I was standing there. But of course he doesn't apologize at all. After he stomps his feet he finally put on the right size tires then literally run and hides before having to confront me again. Yes this happened years ago. But I'm gonna make sure everyone knows how the owner there truly is. It's a shame tho, if he would have just said he was sorry and changed the tires I'd been on my way and never thought about it again. But be rude and call me an asshole because I brought your mistake to your attention, no I'll keep telling my story. Oh ya I had to give at least a one star rating to post this. I called and ordered tires yesterday 11/24 they were supposed to be in on the truck at 11 AM this morning 11/25 . I called and spoke with a man named Tom ( must be the owner someone else mentioned in another review ) who was very rude and snotty and sarcastic and mouthy .I did not appreciate the way he talked to me andwhen I told him maybe I should go somewhere else because I didn't like this conversation , he hung up on me ... which is very poor customer service. The experience started out great. I was helped on the phone by Jay and Toni. I was told my tires would be in the next morning on a truck around 9am and I would receive a call to come in after they were unloaded by 10. I waited until about 10:30am then called. I was told yes that the tires were there and I could come in. When I inquired about why I was not called, I was told that the guys responsible for inventory were not there. So...I started off my experience already feeling like they didn't care about my time. I arrived and it took approximately 45 min to an hour to change four tires (expensive tires I might add). During that time, I tried to recoup part of my day by making calls and appointments while I was sitting there. After about an hour, I looked out the window and realized that my car was sitting in the lot. I approached the receptionist and asked her if my car was ready. She said yes it was but that she did not want to interrupt my phone calls. She NEVER got out of her chair to wave or nod. It was clear that for some reason she was just perturbed that I choose to salvage part of my day by using my time wisely. I asked her how long it had been ready. She said 5-10 minutes but I had been off the phone for at least 5-10 minutes! I told her I was pretty frustrated that there was no effort on her part to approach me knowing that I had already been delayed by them by 1.5 hours by not receiving a call. No apology at all! I don't have time to waste or the interest in giving my hard earned dollars to a company that is not respectful of my time. By far the best and most honest experience I've ever had with buying tires! No bait and switching... no swindling or overcharging... simply the best! I was desperate for a set of tires so I came here... they had 3 almost brand new tires that were the size I needed and only charged me $140 for them!
