It stays pretty busy so be prepared for a possible crowd. The bakery is good. Croissants are amazing. The breakfast isn't very good (beef sausage and gravy) and the service is very slow. We ordered drinks to have with our pastries and waited 35 minutes and finally just left. They need more help in the bakery/restaurant area. I haven't tried the pizza. The restaurant, store, and eating areas are very HOT during the summer.

Not only was the glazed exactly like in an old-fashioned--the sourdough taste and such good nook and crannies texture-wise--but that maple bar was probably the best one I've ever eaten. The donut was soft and pillowy with a good chew to it. But that maple topping was like the perfect texture; it was runny but still had real heft to it. It was like someone put pure molten maple on top and if you shook it too hard like a wet dog it would all just go flying. Every bite I wish I could repeat because it was a donut that seemed to go by too fast. The counter person couldn't have been more friendly. She was like tidal wave of warmth and kindness to us. I wish all folks who worked morning shifts could be this nice. The ambiance was good. It was a little tiny with the counter space. But the fact it is a donut shop and not a restaurant makes the fact they could pack in twenty or so seats at all amazing. And of course they'd be packed with customers sitting shoulder-to-shoulder. If I lived close to a donut shop like this , I'd want to come every morning for my donuts and coffee. I'd definitely get fat here. Overall, this is my ideal donut shop. There's a reason we made the 60 mile drive here for a few donuts and milk, and then drove 60 miles back to the hotel. There are just some donut joints that are worth a 120-mile donut run.

First of all, we decided to go through the drive thru since there were no parking spaces available. Why on earth move your store to a spot without enough spaces? That decision was frustrating b/c the young thing taking orders was chatting it up with the car ahead of us while we, and at least three cars behind us waited. Patiently. I even had time to get out of our car in order to read the menu as to be ready with our order (need a menu cars can read b4 reaching order taker!), to be expedient. Finally got to order taking step and out of: Strawberry syrup, chocolate syrup, lactose free flavors and bananas, and who knows what else, as those are only the items that affected our order! Finally got through that ordeal and pulled up to the window. Imagine our surprise when, after paying just a hair under $20, we got a banana split, with no banana as expected, but also without the sauces my husband ordered! It was plain, save for some paltry crushed nuts. My "medium" sundae, the largest offered, was in a 9oz cup, not even filled up, see picture taken. When I questioned the girl at the window if I had indeed received the "medium", she assured me that I had, and that "it was even measured"! Oh my. My advice? Unless they see the light on customer service and make ordering changes to ensure Saturday night crowds get what they want, there will be no more crowds! Cream City, all the way.
