I have been buying orchids from Laurel Orchids for almost twenty years. They are always healthy and last for months. I bought six large double stemmed white orchids on 25 October 2022. Today is 23 April 2023 and the last of the flowers are falling off. That is a huge bloom span for an orchid! Visited Laurel Orchids 20+ years ago and experienced rudeness from Laurel but her mother Nancy was pleasant. Decided to give them one more chance and found nothing had changed in 20 years with Laurels attitude toward her customers. Purchased two orchids in bloom and added them to a small collection of six other orchids. Within two months the phalenopsis began turning brown and dropping its leaves. Shortly after the second orchid began loosing its leaves. I called Laurel Orchids and was told to bring them right over which I did. The prognosis was they were over heated. These orchids were carried directly after purchase to an apartment and were never exposed to any extremes in heat. Nancy said once the orchids leave their greenhouse they are not responsible for anything that happens to them. She did not offer a refund, exchange or even a coupon for future purchases. Her only advice was to take the one orchid home and tie it to a tree in my yard. With this kind of customer service I would NOT recommend shopping at Laurel Orchids but try one of the many other orchid growers in the area. read more
