Lauren was supportive and helped navigate through some very difficult times for my family. I appreciate her dedication and compassion.

I made a wait buddy from Massachusetts who has been in NYC since 2021.Great conversation while waiting for our perspective parties. The tragedy was my party arrived late due to NYC traffic from Harlem. She was in the village by 5:55 and it was a creep to the restaurant. Tragically, our table was no longer available. My party did not appreciate the action as I was not advised the table was no longer available. The next table seen in the system was 9:15 PM. We looked forward to the dining experience as ot is our first visit to this establishment. P.S. This establishment is not affiliated with Stanley Tucci. We were left to order at the bar. We opted to still try the cuisine; problem was no one took our order. The bartender returned and took our order. The cuisine was tasty yet the portions were undersized (think half Branzino and approximately four gnocchi for tge vegetarian. Maybe we will venture again during warmer weather. Takeaway; if the full party does not arrive within fifteen minutes of reservation; you lose your table. Suggested solution, send a hostess to inform the members awaiting guest(s).

Our server checked in on the perfect times and made us feel like we were eating at home with lively conversation. They also have so many celebrities up on the wall that have been there, so plenty of entertainment around the area to talk about while enjoying the food! Will be the first Italian place we go to when we visit again!

i dont trust anyone that calls this the best italian food in NY…read more You shouldn't either. Not only is the food mediocre but be careful eating here. I was meeting friends and arrived early. I asked the men sitting outside if I could grab a drink. They pointed me around the corner to a speakeasy bar connected to Emilio's. I paid for 2 drinks and while walking out gave the bartender the receipt and a cash tip. A few days later, i checked my bank statement and a 30% tip was added to my bill. Sleazeball move. But back to the food not being good. The bolognese tasted like it was poured from a can and the pork chops with cherry peppers had zero zip. Everyone raves about the chicken or veal parm. We got that too. It was fine. However, i don't put much stock into frying a chicken cutlet, putting tomato sauce on top and melting mozz over it. If you cant cook that, close up shop. Thank god Emilio's can at least do that because everything else was trash.

Our server was adequate, if not especially attentive or friendly. I understand that times get busy, but at this price point / expected caliber of restaurant, it was a bit of a letdown. Couple at the table next to ours, obviously on a date, got the pasta tasting and seemed nonplussed by it throughout. Ordered 2 Hendrick's martinis ($22) each, $4 more (ea.) than at the Salmagundi Club but less strong. We were truly baffled by the White Escarole Salad ($24) -- torn escarole hearts, toasted walnuts, Chianti vinegar, shaved torpedo onions, pecorino foglio di noce -- and the Olive Garden / Pizza Hut presentation. Bland, totally lacking in flavor. The portion was sizable, perhaps to its detriment. It was a Pizza Hut doppelgänger for sure. Sasso Chicken al Mattone ($40) -- sweet fennel sausage, braised escarole greens, spicy pepper condimento -- sausages were shaped into small, lumpy patties and BURNT. Chicken was slightly dry. Much prefer the chicken at FORGIONE. Mezzalune ($28) -- beet, smoked mozzarella, poppy seed butter -- 6 tiny dumplings. They resembled little gyoza but weren't pan-fried. The fillings were pretty tasty. Dessert was extremely underwhelming -- 4 lackluster options. Begrudgingly, we went with the Diplomatico ($18). I think they need to reboot their sweets menu and lower prices to about $14-16. Bill was $233 before tip. Tipped 14-15%. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Our waiter was accommodating & friendly. My wife & I ordered cocktails, which were delicious. We got an appetizer & some oysters. My wife didn't care for the appetizer. I ate it. I also ate the oysters bc my wife doesn't like them, in general. She ordered the petit filet mignon from the bar menu. She ordered it "medium." When it came out my wife cut it in half & it was extremely rare. Gelatinous & dark red. The waiter never checked back in with us, so I ate about half of my meal. I had to flag down another waiter. We aren't difficult customers, so we asked them to take it back & cook it more. It came back, with our original server & his apologies, but it was hardly cooked at all & was now closer to medium rare, but I'd say still closer to rare. It was smothered in new sauce. We were disappointed, and asked another waitstaff to send it back & cook it more. While it was gone, I finished my meal & someone offered us dessert menus. We explained we were still waiting for our entree. When it last came back, the entire steak had been cut into little pieces & was well done. No one checked on us. The waiter never came back. I was kind've upset & decided to set a stop watch & I left it running on the edge of the table so that everyone who walked by would notice a timer running. We waited & waited. I finally got up & walked into the restaurant, hoping they were really busy & that's why the service was so unattentive. There was 1 table in the whole restaurant apart from the bar. It's Super Bowl Sunday today. I saw the waiter, standing in what I presume to be a server station area, & once I saw there was only one other table I had seen enough. From what I could tell he was on his phone & didn't notice I came within his field of view. To be honest, I can't say for 100% he was on his phone, but it seemed like he was staring at a wall. I'm assuming a shelf was there & he was looking at his phone. I came back to the table & my wife went to go ask for the check. She never ate more than a bite of the steak, & she ate a couple fries. She asked them to take it away. By & large, her meal was completely untouched, other than by the kitchen. When the server brought us the check, we asked him if the steak had been taken off & he actually said "yes," & showed us a discount of $26. That made us feel better. We weren't happy with the place, but at least we weren't paying for something they couldn't get right & she didn't eat bc of it. So, fine, as long as we aren't paying for it, we'll just leave & won't likely ever go back. No big deal, except as I looked at the bill, the steak WASN'T taken off the bill. The discount was for our happy hour drinks. I went back to find him & said, "let's figure this out here. What is the $26 discount for?" He said "it was the happy hour drinks." I said, "she never ate the steak," and he said "she didn't?!" Yeah, Brohan, she didn't. You would've known that if you'd came anywhere near doing your job & actually served us instead of playing on your phone in another room, & giving tepid service & assuming by putting on your tie & being friendly you'd land a 20% tip. Which I actually still gave him a 20% tip, but not bc he earned it. I did it bc he seemed like a nice guy, but he was a nice guy & a mediocre waiter. He was knowledgeable about the menu, & seemed like he meant to do well, but... IDK what happened, but it was a bad experience. They took the steak off the bill. We left, having paid over $100 with the tip included & my wife only had a couple of french fries. From the outside, & walking in, the place looked promising. The service was mostly lacklustre. I say that bc when we needed something, there were enough other servers (2) walking by that we could flag them for assistance. You know what would've been nice? Start over. Get her a new piece of steak and get it right. Or hire someone who can do a better job. The steak came out black & blue to begin with. It was a 6 oz piece. I get it, you don't want to have food waste, but now you've got disgruntled customers & a bad review. Check in with your table! It was the lack of communication that killed our business with you.
