The exams can be relatively quick and straightforward. The main waiting area in the front is also very welcoming with hangers to hang your coat. Plenty of seating. Wonderful office!

After having my baby, I noticed I have very sensitive skin and eyes and have been developing styes. One got so bad I had to actually see a doctor for it. I looked like someone punched me with a side of Quasimodo. It was that bad. My mother-in-law is pretty much the queen of northern Wantagh/Levittown and knows the best when she sees it... so I, of course, asked her for the recommendation. Right away she gave me Dr Greenberg's info. I called in the late afternoon and got the first appointment the very next day. Amazing, right? Too good to be true, perhaps? When I arrived at 7:25, I was the first patient and was taken in right away. The optometry assistant (I work in healthcare and have no clue if that's an actual title- is that what they're called? I'm sorry if I'm completely butchering the entire profession) was SO nice and knowledgeable and quick! You should have seen him typing on his iPad. Fast Fingers McGee. I was then taken to another waiting room and then a different room after that. My only gripe- expect to wait a little bit for the doctor. I was in and out in one hour but, again, I was the first patient. I imagine this place gets busy but as long as I always get an early appointment I think I'll be fine. When I finally met Dr Greenberg, it was like seeing an old friend. I overheard him talking to a different patient and he was asking how her family was. You could tell he truly loves what he does and takes an interest in his patients. As a nurse I know how rare this is nowadays. Dr. Greenberg prescribed me a special type of eye drop and my stye cleared up in two days. This place is really great. The staff treats you like family. It's so easy to get an appointment. And it's literally so clean you could eat off their floors. Color me impressed because ModernEyes did not disappoint! If you live in Levittown/east meadow/Wantagh/massapequa, I highly suggest you use ModernEyes for all your eye care needs.

Beware of the South Shore Eye Care scam. Staff was very…read morenice, my Dr. (Lask) was excellent. When I checked in (Wantagh Ave. Wantagh) they gave me a few pages to fill out. The last page states if you need a prescription there is an additional $35.00 fee for each one written (if you need glasses or contacts). If you need two different scripts, you will pay $70.00 out of your pocket, insurance does not cover this. I asked the person who gave me the exam and he confirmed if I need a prescription written, I will pay for $35.00 for each one! I did a lot of research and believe this is illegal. Why would I go back if I'm going to get scammed? You shouldn't go here either. Under federal law (the FTC's Eyeglass Rule and Contact Lens Rule), you are entitled to a copy of your prescription immediately after an exam is completed, and you cannot be forced to pay a "release fee," "copy fee," or purchase glasses/contacts to receive it.

He is an ophthalmologist who is excellent in his field. The waiting room had the patients socially distanced and also had hand sanitizers. I only waited a few minutes and was called into the testing room. The nurse asked me to place my chin on a stand for the glaucoma test. I asked her if she could wipe the stand with sanitizer. She said she already wiped it but she graciously did it again. I was examined by Dr. Lo Pinto who, of course, was wearing a mask and gloves. It was a great visit with a wonderful and careful team of professionals.

I truly do not understand the negative reviews of this place!…read more I came here recently for cataract surgery and had an amazing time (or as amazing as surgery can possibly be!). I only waited about 30 minutes after my arrival time to be taken into pre-op. During that time I spoke with the billing department (private rooms) and paid my deductible and coinsurance. They answered any questions I had. My ONLY unpleasant experience was the billing person who called me the day prior to my surgery who had the nastiest attitude and played dumb when I asked the same questions I ended up receiving answers to on the day of my surgery. The nurses in the back (Maura was my pre-op nurse) are incredible. So friendly. They check on you constantly without being overbearing. The orderlies who take you to the laser room then the OR are friendly and polite. My recovery nurse (Fiona) was phenomenal and made sure I felt good and ready to go. I elected to not be wheeled out to the car and she allowed me to walk alongside her, which I found nice since a lot of places pretty much force you to use a wheelchair post-op. The waiting room is huge. It's only cold near the door to outside. If you sit further away from there, I promise you will not be cold. Plenty of parking although it was a bit icy due to a recent storm. Easy to get to, right off the Northern State. Amazing facility!

Today I had the worst experience at this facility! I took my elderly mother who has expressive…read more aphasia to this facility, and I regretted coming here. The initial staff member that I checked in with was pleasant. After a two hour wait here, I get to the room for them to verify my mother's procedure, and after a series of questions, the surgical coordinator leaves the room. A tall man with dark brown hair comes in, doesn't introduce himself , and starts asking my mother questions about her procedure. Due to her language impairment, she had trouble answering. I am then told after waiting for two hours and missing a day of work (as a healthcare provider myself), that they will not take her, and that I needed a healthcare proxy for them to do the procedure. They never communicated or verified and health conditions in the phone call check-in prior to her visit. I was told this was a simple laser procedure from her eye doctors office. They ONLY verified covid symptoms and current travel. I asked for a manager and then was bombarded by two additional staff members who claimed to be managers, without them providing their names. The male manager was very defensive stating "just because you say you are her healthcare proxy, doesn't make it true". I've been my mother's caregiver since the changes in her health. Her doctor knows this, but they did not bother to verify this. I wasted a day coming here. The bottom line, they were more concerned with legality than actually taking responsibility for their lack of competence/communication or PATIENT CARE. They also had additional delays there due to an HVAC failure. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

The Dr. didn't give me any problems, rechecking them and ordering a new pair. My ins covered most of it but the secretary failed to inform me ahead of time, that to add on scratch and glare resistance cost me more out of pocket. I didn't know that until AFTER I picked out my glasses. The Dr. though was nice and patient and honored my request to not shine bright lights into my eyes.

I went here through a referral from my ophthalmologist and that they accept my insurance. Dr. Facchin was incredibly thorough and helpful. I have a bad astigmatism in one eye which makes getting the prescription correct a bit difficult. He took the time to insure the lenses gave me the best vision possible without feeling like the ground is moving (common when dealing with an astigmatism). He answered questions and explained why my eyes do certain things in regards to my vision. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly as well. The woman who assisted me with my glasses (I wish I remembered her name) informed me of vision benefits I didn't even know I had. She was very patient showing the frames available to me and never pushed me into something more expensive that I didn't need. She explained the different options and prices when it came to the lenses so I could make an informed decision. I am very happy with my new glasses. They are stylish and I can see better than I have in over a year. Plus I did not spend a ridiculous amount of money on them. I plan to take my family there when they are eligible for an exam/new glasses and would recommend others do the same.
