I've lived at Lauren's Way Apartments for 6 years. I've had a great experience with the maintenance team, both previous and Tyrone, the current. The manager Tanisha has always been friendly and accommodating. The area that I lived in was ways quiet and my neighbors were quiet and friendly. I have lived here 15 months. DON'T move here. Trash everywhere, 2 months after my roof leaked I still have water stains on my walls and ceiling! And the pool is usually closed for the summer in July because it gets trashed and then the tenants get nasty email blaming US for not policing our surroundings! Then I try to leave and they tell me I have to find someone to rent it! I wouldn't recommend this complex to anyone. In response to the management know I would not call the office again as I've made repeated attempts upwards of a dozen to never get my apartment repaired correctly! And to further add support to the fact that they don't keep these apartments up, I can't even get the office tonight with my sink is leaking underneath it. When you call the office phone number it says "this voicemail box has not been set up" DUMP DUMP DUMP!!! I was told today that workers were coming to replace a window that has leaked since the day we moved in. Got home...Nothing done...call office...nobody has a clue! read more

Lauren's Way is described by Drucker and Falk as "luxury apartments." If your idea of luxury is old, rusty, tiny and the cheapest kitchen appliances, this is the place for you--if not, RUN. The apartment is spray painted over stains, nicks, plastered holes, dust, and bugs. I am the third person that I know of in the last 6 months in my building to have the old rusted hot water heater burst and flood the apartment. My refrigerator was making noises and losing temperature, causing bad freezer food. After 7 months of complaining, they replaced it with a worse unit. They said that they will let me out of my lease, and refuse to put it in writing. Neighbors are very nice and going through the same experiences. Some report roaches breeding in dishwashers. No wonder--"mandatory" extermination does not show up. I keep my own apartment exterminated so that I do not have the problems of which others are complaining. I waited a month from original move in date to move in when I was told that the apartment was being cleaned. The apartment was newly spray painted over old paint, nicks, badly filled holes, dust, bugs; the carpet was stained, the spray paint could not hide the tattered, decaying kitchen cabinets and the holes in the bathroom walls. It was extreme concerning to me that my "cleaned" apartment had light globes filled with bugs. I submitted the paperwork with the original condition of the apartment, and was told 7 months later that the submission was lost. I waited 7 months for the poorly functioning refrigerator to be replaced--by another old, poorly functioning unit complete with dead gnats in the refrigerator and freezer and the seals partially attached to the doors. I was treated extremely poorly by the maintenance man who told that I needed to hurry up and move some things out of his way because he had other jobs to do. The maintenance man also lied to the office about the encounter. Mandatory exterminating? A man showed up and asked if I have seen bugs. When I said that I had not seen any lately, he walked away. I am too embarrassed by the filth upon entering the complex to invite friends to my apartment. The same trash is around the cardboard container and around the garbage area since I moved in 7 months ago. Speaking with office staff and corporate is not worth the effort when one, or every neighbor with whom I have spoken has the same complaints, which are met with condescension and no care for the renters. The water heater burst and flooded my apartment. I was told that the water heaters only last for so many years before they fail. This was told told to me by maintenance who was clearly irritated by question about the flood my apartment, which has caused damage, and shows that maintenance and corporate does not maintain anything, but waits for failure and potential damage to renters before replacing anything. I am aware of three families in my building in the last six months who experienced loses due to rusted and burst water heaters. Today, I came home to find my cat closed in the water heater closet, indicating that someone had been in my apt although they knew that I preferred that none enter and I will come home when they call. The entire visit is on my security camera. The maintenance men talked about finding no water in the water heater closet. My call last week about a closet that had a wet carpet that they did not check when they extracted the water. I also had moved a plastic crate that I had in the kitchen that they did not move during extraction, and found found water under it in which I laid paper towels before I had to leave for work. The man said that he thinks it is cat pee. This man is incompetent as maintenance and a human being. When I heard what he said I checked paper towels, which smelled like nothing. I do not know why they were in the apt. They did not anchor the carpet, nor do any of the repairs I have been reporting for 7 months. Lauren's way is relatively safe and quiet. Neighbors are friendly and share experiences with hood level incompetent maintenance, old deteriorating walls, kitchen cabinets, appliances, flooded apartments because of old rusted water heaters, insect infestations, and uncaring owners and staff. read more

ZERO STARS ! I wouldn't wish these living amenities on my worst enemy. The entire process started off as a failure as we were never informed of the proper utilities and spent our first 3 days without water (that means no shower, toilet or any water!) Our first day we woke to find the manager "showing" our apartment to another renter. The roach infestation hasn't been addressed despite multiple "pesticide sprays". In 6 months our disposal was "replaced" 3 times each resulting in water under the sink. The laundry facility has one or more units down on a rotating schedule. The pool was closed for a majority of the season due to an algae bloom followed by children throwing the furniture in the pool. To say that the customer service is pathetic would be giving the management too much credit. They are beyond determined to have you leave their office grumbling and dissatisfied. If you have money to spare and have a burning desire to be miserable at your own home, Lauren's Way is the place for you. Honestly, a tent in the woods would be a better option. Absolutely 0 compassion from the office staff and no trace of customer service will be found at Laurens Way Apartments. We have had numerous issues since moving in here and wish we never would have, looking back living in my car in a Wal-Mart parking lot would have been better than living here. 1. When we moved in, we were not told before hand to activate water services. So for the first 4 days of us living here we did not have running water, we couldn't even use our own toilet. 2. Cockroaches and spiders, EVERYWHERE. 3. We found black mold in our cabinets 4. Our disposal was filled with ROTTING FOOD and rocks (..how?) when we moved in. We found out when our dishwasher back-flowed with disgusting, old water. The maintenance man scooped out literal HANDFULS of old food that was not cleaned out when the apartment was empty. 5. The communication between office workers is deplorable. Somehow, the weekend office staff did not know that our apartment was lived in so while my boyfriend and I were on our couch in the living room, the office worker opened our door to "show the apartment" without knowing someone already lived there. 6. The "amenities" if you could even call them that, include a laundry facility with at least one broken machine (out of 4) at all times with no explanation, and a pool that is either shut down due to how dirty it is or shut down because the neighborhood kids have thrown too much furniture in it. It's like living next to a landfill when the pool is open, trash EVERYWHERE. So, to add to this list the office managers (if you could call them that) are completely unhelpful and they do not care. Trust me, they DO NOT CARE. You will find that you are just another dollar sign to them, that is all they care about. I lived there for a ye a r year and within 6 months I wanted to move. For at least 5 months I had issues with my rent and the office could not be bothered when it wasn't my fault. I had a leak under my bathroom sink that cause really bad mold and it took months to get fixed. By fixed I mean they cut it out replaced it with a board and used puddy. Then left it. Everything was taken out of my bathroom and thrown around my bedroom. Very unhappy and glad to be gone. I am sure if the mangers ever had a problem with rent they would want someone understanding to help. read more

The apartments are bug and mold infested. The complex spends more money on the outer appearance than the inner. Tanisha is the nicest person in the office and helps when she can. They only have one maintenence guy and the day our storage unit lock broke it took over 3 hrs to get it fixed because the one guy called out sick. Mold, bugs, out dated cabinets and non caring Staff. When we complained about the bugs they said it's the south and the bugs are a part of living here. We complained about the mold and they told us not to use the heat because the condensation was causing the mold. Great place if you want to live outside...The grounds are immaculate. read more

I understand this is not a wealthy area in knightdale so it is not going to be perfect BUT the prices are absolutely ridiculous for the space, quality, customer service and crime in the area. The place is not a good neighborhood, dirt bikes in the street every weekend, gun shots, fire truck screaming down the road every other day. The windows and doors in the apartments don't keep the cold/heat out. No access to a hose, garbage is inconvenient but they will still charge you for it. appliances are super outdated and I couldn't use two of my burners on the stove because the coil was bent when i moved in. parking and walkways are very inconvenient. Management of the property NEVER responds to email, but when I call to follow up my email days later they tell me they saw my email but didn't respond. They say they are open til 6pm but will be gone by 5:45pm. They make paying rent hard because they only allow check drop-offs during business hours when normal people work and if you choose to pay online there is a ridiculous fee. The pool was only open 3 maybe, 4 weeks of the entire summer and only during the day. Getting an answer to any question that requires more than common sense takes days/weeks to get an answer and thats only if you follow up multiple days. Very apparent drugs deals in the neighborhood's daily. Sketchy vehicles hanging out in the neighborhood all night or day. Do not bring your kids here. They have the absolute worst company that is a third party that they have "no control" over for insurance, notified only by one email in the middle of your lease they will start charging you even though you have proved you have your own insurance and pay for that monthly, they add an additional bill to your already overpriced rent for something you dont need and a pain to cancel. I tried to cancel it three times with no luck, that company's customer service is even worse, they dont answer the phone and when they do all they do is argue with you and completely disregard common sense. The AC in my apartment went out May 22, 2020. I informed the office staff of my sons upper respiratory condition which is triggered by heat. My sons Dr. is very adamant about me keeping the air in my living environment between 70-72 degrees. Here it is June 8, 2020 and I still do not working AC. The AC in my home is set at 65 degrees and is reading 81 degrees (picture attached) The office staff haven't done shit! They aren't even sympathetic to my living situation. I have been in touched with maintenance, office staff, and even the owners of Lauren's Way (Drucker & Falk) who never returned my call after leaving several messages! Taniesha who works in the Lauren's Way office is rude, unprofessional, and VERY ghetto! This is my first review I've ever left in life. I am so disappointed that I ever moved to this shit hole. We're in the middle of a pandemic and I'm stuck In a hot house in 100 degree weather with no where else to go. Hello All! MUST READ BEFORE RENTING! I have been renting with Lauren's Way Apartments for 2 years, and everything was going fine until a couple weeks ago. I had an issue with a deposit. As soon as I recognized it I contacted the apartment complex and explained the situation. I told them that my direct deposite will be in just 2 days past the written date on their letter. I offered to give them a print out from my employer to show the pending deposite, and also explained that I have NEVER PAID LATE in the 2 years I've lived here.The office manager said that it doesn't matter how long I've lived here, or if I'm a good resident. She was going to file court papers against me on that date no matter what I say. Then proceeded to tell me that in addition to the late fee, I will also be charged $250 because I have to pay their attorney to file court papers. What?! She made me feel like complete garbage, and offered no consolation about the news. I told her this was a terrible way to do business, and was in complete shock that they would do this to me. I fought as hard as I could to get through to her, and she hung up on me. I reached out to the corporate office, and explained the situation to her manager...At that moment I saw where the river of poor business skills was coming from. He was demeaning in his tone, and told me that the manager at Lauren's Way is not allowed to make decisions, and she would have been written up if she didn't file court papers on me...regardless if she felt that I was going to pay. WHO TREATS A LONG TERM, GOOD RESIDENT LIKE THIS? I don't know why, but I went ahead and paid them what they wanted, and they cashed on it immediately. I am disgusted with their service and want to cut my losses and get out of here. My lease is up in 30 days and who knows what kind of games they are going to play with me for posting this review. They do not value their residents, and treat us like cattle. The reason for this is they know there is always going to be another one right behind you...so why be concerned with showing respect, or good customer service to hard working residents? What a shame. If you still choose to rent from Lauren's Way Apartments just remember that they will chop your head off the second you have trouble, regardless as to how committed you are. I have lived in these apartments for almost 4 years now and have had a great experience. The location is great and very close to 540, along with many businesses and restaurants close by. The staff is very friendly and do a great job of keeping you up to date on upcoming events or any other issues that the residents need to be aware of. Maintenance also does a great job and items are fixed fast if there is a problem. The two negatives I have would be sometimes it's easy to hear your neighbor and the noise. I don't know if the walls are just too thin or maybe it's just the neighbor being noisy since it's not all of the time. The other item is about a year ago, we were told they were power washing the paint off of the steps and porch, but would re-paint them. As of yet, nothing has been re-painted. Management has changed since then, so maybe they are just unaware. Overall, there can be noise anywhere and the steps/porch aren't a huge issue. I have lived at Laurens Way for three years now, and have been happy since I've moved in. The location is great, it's 1 mile away from a grocery store, large shopping plaza, and many fast food and sit down restaurants. The residential community is very well maintained and the surrounding neighborhoods are safe. I run all the time around 4:30am and I've never felt unsafe out there by myself, in fact most mornings I see a safety patrol officer driving around too. The living space is perfect for my roommate and I. There are plenty of closets for storage, and lots of space in both bedrooms and living room. I wish the kitchen were a little bigger though and had more counter space. As far as amenities, I have used the pool in the summers. The pool is always clean. My only complaint of the pool area is one summer all of the chairs' fabric fell through in the middle of summer making it hard to sit anywhere and it was not fixed the end of summer. I have also used the cardio room. There are 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical,1 stationary bike, a rack of medicine balls, and a TV. It is a small space, so depending on your use of the medicine balls, you may have to move outside. The staff here is very friendly and they keep you informed of events through notes and emails. The office will hold onto your packages until you are able to pick them up, and after signing an agreement, your roommate is also able to pick up packages for you in case you aren't able to get them yourself. That's really important to me as I work past the time the office closes most days of the week. Overall I am happy with Laurens Way and would recommend to anyone. read more
