The Laurentian Environmental Center (LEC) is many things to different groups.
For some it is a conference center, for some it is a training or team building location, for others LEC is a retreat location.
For most LEC is an escape from city/suburban life and a chance to learn about, and interact with, nature.
For me LEC is serenity.
LEC is also a place for school groups (elementary middle and high school) to experience environmental education.
The LEC staff is great and includes naturalists, teachers and story tellers.
Students hike, geocache, canoe, fish, learn outdoor and survival skills, play games, learn team building skills, and learn about nature (plants animals weather and more).
The cooks and food are fantastic.
The cabins are comfortable (bunk beds) place to roll out your sleeping bag and relax after a long day of adventure. Cabins are heated and cozy any time of year. read more
