IMs Berry was the realtor in the recent sale of my house. I selected her because she and her colleague told me what I wanted to hear in regard to what the house would easily sell for in today's market.. Ms. Berry asked me to do a dual representation offer for another client she had and I foolishly agreed. Once She wrote the offer for her other client I feel she did not represent me any longer but was acting primarily on their behalf. Ms Berry was condescending and rude to me on several occasions. She.provided poor customer service and I ended up getting a good amount less than we originally discussed. I highly recommend you do not have Ms Berry do a dual client sale representation process based on my bad experience. read more

I can't say enough good things about Laurie. I'm a first time home buyer, found her here on Yelp, and gave her a call when my then-real estate agent wasn't working out so well. Laurie was great right off the bat, willing to have phone conversations instead of meeting, as I live an hour south and have a strange work schedule. Because I had an extremely odd situation (self employed, picky, and with loan issues due to being self employed), finding a house wasn't easy. After ten months of looking -- and crazy shenanigans on my end ("Laurie, what if I just bought some land and put a mobile home on it?" "Well, yeah, we can look for land."), and writing a few bids only to have them fall through, we found the perfect house. I was practically foaming at the mouth. "I have to have this house!" Laurie helped me write an offer that, while not the highest they received, was still the one they chose. In part because their realtor knew Laurie as an honest and reputable person! Talking about knowing the right people being important! There were more shenanigans involving the bank and some repairs, and Laurie stuck with me. She's fantastic at returning calls and emails right away, and kept me in the loop as to what was happening now. She also didn't get cranky at my multiple, "Are we there yet?" type questions! When we finally got to closing, we realized it was going to happen on Good Friday (a half day) and that meant it probably wouldn't really go through until the next week. I had friends who could help me move Saturday, but not Tuesday (and, let's face it, I just wanted in my house!). Laurie made phone calls, told me what we needed to do to get it pushed through on Friday, and did the impossible. She got things that are normally done a day apart done on Friday, and I was able to move Saturday! Laurie was patient, helpful, and a joy to work with the whole time. She never tired of my questions, never made me feel rushed, always knew how to soothe me when I was stressed out about something, and made things happen! I purchased a home in Martinez in 2011 for my son to live in. Because I live in Southern California and did not know any real estate agents in the Bay Area, I relied on a number of very positive ratings about Ms. Berry on Yelp and chose her to represent us in the purchase of the property. We arranged to meet Ms. Berry at her office at a specified time. She arrived late and was dressed shabbily. We found a house that we liked and returned to Ms. Berry's office to sign a number of documents and prepare an offer. The house was being "flipped" by an investor, who had purchased the foreclosed property at auction. Before preparing the offer, I asked Ms. Berry how much the investor paid for the property and was advised that the investor paid $220,000 a few months earlier. Based on Ms. Berry's recommendation, we submitted an offer of $265,000 for the house, and our offer was accepted. I later discovered, when I contacted my loan broker for financing, that the investor had actually paid $180,000 for the house. Had I known that the investor had paid $40,000 less than what Ms. Berry had advised me, my offer would have been for a much lower amount. The escrow process was very stressful to me because of Ms. Berry's lateness in scheduling a home inspection, and in ensuring that the seller made the electrical repairs we requested, as the home inspection revealed that there were electrical issues in the house that were unsafe. In fact, Ms. Berry was so late that we never even removed contingencies prior to the close of escrow (the escrow closed on 11/15/11, and Ms. Berry had advised me that the electrician completed the repairs on the morning of 11/15/11). When I was reviewing the documents prior to the close of escrow, I noticed in the contract with Ms. Berry a charge of $400 for "Docusign" that Ms. Berry did not call to my attention prior to signing the document. I drove up to Martinez on 11/16/11 to take possession of the property and had arranged with Ms. Berry to deliver the keys at a specified time, but when I arrived at the house, I had to wait 45 minutes for Ms. Berry, as she stated that she was with another client at the time. Only when the client suggested to her to deliver the keys to me did she stop by with the keys. Upon entering the garage where the electrical panel is located, I asked Ms. Berry to verify that work had been done, and she confirmed that the work had, in fact, been completed. I am now in the process of selling the house and I'm using a different real estate agent. The "Docusign" service is free with my new real estate agent, who advised me that I had overpaid for the property. The home inspection on the house that the buyer requested was done on 12/5/12, and the inspection identified the same electrical issue that Ms. Berry assured us had been completed. In light of the above, I would highly recommend that any potential buyer or seller NOT use Ms. Berry to represent them in their transaction. I was so dissatisfied with Ms. Berry that I would give her a 0 star rating if that were possible. read more

Laurie did an amazing job both helping us sell and purchase our homes in San Ramon. She is very professional, personable and most importantly; someone you can trust will have your best interest in mind. She did an amazing job and kept us informed as she held everything together to make our transactions go as seamless as could be. Now fast forward a year later. Interest rates have dropped and we decided to refinance with the bank that holds our current mortgage. We had been locked into to a really nice interest rate, great right! The bank had an appraiser come out and it turned out the appraisal was nowhere near what we needed it to be. We were perplexed and very confused based on where we thought the appraisal should have been. The entire refi could have completely fallen apart, but it didn't. I reached out to Laurie (a year after she helped us buy our home) and asked for advice. She felt the appraisal was too low and within the hour returned us with 10+ comps in my neighborhood. I submitted those back to the bank and challenged their initial appraisal. The bank recognized that the appraisal was indeed too low and rightfully made the adjustment. Happy to report the refi closes today, we've locked in a fixed rate for 30 years and we'll be saving a few hundred dollars every month. This would not have been possible without the stellar service that Laurie provided. Her actions far exceeded my expectations. When my dad died last year, he left a big mess of an estate including a little old house in Martinez that was in very poor repair, which we decided to sell. I contacted Laurie initially to get her advice on whether it would make sense to fix it up or sell as-is. She was extremely well-informed about the local market and gave great, detailed advice. We decided to do some work on the house before selling which ballooned into some major contract work, and she was there every step of the way, advising on everything from what to fix, to paint colors that would appeal to buyers. She had great ideas and was very knowledgeable. Also, she always returned calls and emails promptly and was often available to stop by the house to take a look. These things are super important. When it was time to put the house on the market, she was very strategic about marketing it to get us the best price possible. We got a higher price than we were expecting in fact. The buyers were hers as well, and I'm always a little uncomfortable with a dual agent situation, but she managed it very well and even gave us a small discount on her commission. Laurie ROCKS! This review is very overdue. Laurie worked with us for a year and a half before we found the right house. We were outbid several times. She was always there when we needed her and she was SO patient with me! We finally had an offer accepted, and I ended up not feeling right about it. Laurie was SUPER supportive of this and although it would have benefited her to try and talk me into it, she was genuine about wanting to make sure that we found the right house for us. She helped me weigh the pros and cons and we ultimately decided to back out. We ended up finding a short sale. Unprofessional and rude! Poor customer service! We had an appointment scheduled at 6 pm to check out the house in Martinez. Due to getting off late from work, we arrived at the site about 630 pm. Which she was informed via email and she even replied. She didn't tell us that we can't come no longer or that we have to reschedule the appointment. We were glad to reschedule the appointment if needed since we couldn't make the original time. It is understandable. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted in an unbelievable manner while trying to explain the situation. We also apologized to her. She didn't even want to listen. She said she has been waiting for at least 45 minutes and that she didnt know we were running late and that we didn't inform her. We have the exchange emails. I dont know what she's going through in life. But everyone else has their problems and that is not an excuse to be rude to people. Especially with the current state the world is right now. The pandemic, racism, hate crimes, and so on. I hope she realizes what she have done and work on being better so this doesn't happen again. read more

She is very rude and unprofessional. We're very disappointed. She offered to schedule tour 6 PM which we agreed. She said there's disclosure that needs to be sign prior to showing but she didn't send it to me until the day of the tour which I emailed her back informing her that I'm at work and will print the form as soon as I get home. We got off late from work so I emailed and informed her if we can change the time to 6:30 PM (I wish I was able to inform her much earlier that we're running late but I didn't have time to do that due to work and I only have her email, she didn't give me her phone no) Since we're late due to work, we're happy to reschedule that's why I asked but she didn't reschedule and said if we can be there quickly within 10 minutes which we did but when we got there and met her she was very mean to us saying that we made her wait 45 minutes which I apologized but I asked her before we went if we can reschedule the time or if we can still come and she didn't say anything and agreed for us to come within10 mins. She continued to be mean to me after we apologized. Very poor customer service. We admitted that we're late but you shouldn't treat anyone with that attitude. There's a nice professional way to say it. I hope noone else will have to experience this horrible experience you made us feel. read more

Run the other way! She is careless and negligent. I requested her service for renting my house in Martinez and she was was poor in providing prospective tenants. Once she found a tenant and secured the lease, she requested full year's commission and conveniently disappeared and stopped responding to either the tenant or myself. This was by far the worst experience I have had with any agent and I would not recommend her to anyone. read more

It was very important for me to sell the house as quickly as possible. Laurie recommended simple and inexpensive renovations I could do to get the house to sell more quickly. I took her advice, she took care of all the advertising, and I had an offer on the house three days after it went on the market, which is amazing. Laurie was a listing agent on a property and I called asking about the property. Not only did she tell me that it was not worth my time asking about the property, she called my agent to tell them that I was going behind his back. My agent and was very upset about this.
