What a nice place to stay for several days. This charming old mansion looks scary at first and has a scary history too. Even the innkeeper, Julie and Dave won't tell you the scary stuff. But don't worry, no spooks here, they have been bottled up by the Ghostbusters already. The rooms are quaint, and lovely, the food in hearty and filling, all the decor is very charming and quaint. The Innkeepers, Julie and Dave are very nice people from NoCal, who have taken an interest in restoring the little town of Laurium and spreading their good cheer over this so sad part of the UP. Julie and Dave are such fun hardworking people. This picture is of the home across the street. It is also part of the Manor Empire, when you stay there, you may walk over the big house for breakfast. Free Wifi for everyone here, along with free cookies, and tea!

Such a nice comfortable and accommodation inn. The place is spotless, food great and the fall colors outstanding . If you are ever in the UP stop by, you won't be disappointed .

It was on this first trip that we learned of the sister B & B across the street, the Victorian Hall, which we toured.

The building used to have store fronts in the bottom and living space upstairs. I believe at least part of it was an old candy store! The guest/sleeping space is divided into three separate sections with an apartment type feel. The upstairs has two sides. Each side has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a full kitchen, living and dining room area. Each side sleeps at least 8 people, if not more. The kitchen was equipped with all the essentials you'd need for cooking a full meal. The downstairs was half guest/sleeping space and half shared communal space. The communal space was where we spent most of our time. The decor and overall charm was quirky an delightful. It had a fun old school vibe and the walls were covered with maps, artwork and advertisements from decades ago. There was pool table and awesome hot tub as well. A perfect place to relax after our daily adventures. Also, since we were there for yoga, that is where we practiced. It comfortably fit about 12 people to practice. If you have never been to Calumet and are looking for a place to stay I highly recommend the Oak Street Inn!

Meaning- take a reservation and deliver or call back and tell us we need to find something else If it is closed due to personal issues- my apologies. She has tattoos and face piercings- which doesn't matter- but just for management to know. We were here to spend $$$$ which most service industry people are there they make. Being nice and friendly is part of the job. We left and happily will go spend our money at the next bar! Your loss... and it's not a stop we'll make next time!

The table service is very slow, so if you're looking for a quick meal this is not the place. The food arrived at our table cold, I ordered the pulled pork dinner which was served as a sandwich with cold sides for $24. My mother who was celebrating her 83rd birthday ordered the Kafta burger which was served on white bread and was also cold but certainly at a cheaper price point. My kids ordered burgers off of the kids menu and they appeared to be ok. My wife ordered the shrimp pasta which was by far the best dish for $27, it was served warm but certainly had a lot of flavor. The wait staff never checked to see how we were enjoying our food nor did he ask if we wanted any additional drinks or dessert. I totally understand the meaning of rebuilding a restaurant after a pandemic but the KML has a long way to go and Copper Harbor definitely has far better dining options. Best of Luck KML!
