The staff was great across the board, and the concierge was especially helpful--assisting with booking local attractions and providing excellent recommendations. The hotel offers three restaurants. The main-level restaurant is open most of the day with the longest hours, serving pastries, teas, snacks, and desserts throughout the day. There's also a breakfast restaurant that converts to dinner service and holds a Michelin star, which is extremely rare to find in a hotel. Unfortunately, when we had a reservation there in the evening, several menu items were unavailable, so we decided not to dine there. We did eat at the rooftop restaurant on the seventh floor, and it was absolutely incredible--amazing food, great service, and an overall fantastic experience. The hotel also has a great pool, spa, and gym. The spa offerings were excellent, and I booked a facial and massage that was absolutely incredible--it made for a very relaxing day and was a highlight of the stay. The room itself was excellent with an amazing view, heated bathroom floors, and all the amenities you could need. Room service and in-room dining options were also very solid. Overall, this was a great stay from start to finish and is highly recommended for anyone visiting Lausanne or Switzerland in general.

My wife had overpriced braised beef cheeks that you could get in the states called pot roast for $5-8.00 and just as good? But the Quenelle de Brochet was awful ! First the dumplings were freezer burned and all dried out,they developed a tough skin on top and were pretty disgusting. Then the chef? For what ever reason decided to put watery lobster/ shrimp broth over them to bake and puff. Too bad because the broth in itself had excellent flavor, but you have to thicken and cream this sauce so it adheres to the mousse.This chef's version is a $38 chf Disaster.I'm very disappointed and recommend sending the Chef back to cooking school.

We were the only English speaking people in the place...the rest locals which in our estimation is a great sign. The inside is charming and full of warmth. While the salads were simple they were beautiful. A delicious vinaigrette that made one want to just keep eating lettuce! I saved a bit of mine so that I could dip my veal in if need be. Didn't need it but it was good on it. The veal was cooked to perfection. The fries were addictive. We both tried but both had to leaves some fries. Portions were very nice size. Le Mazot is not a large restaurant. It probably seats about 30 inside and has an outdoor area that can accommodate about the same. On our visit both areas were full. One lady, possibly the owner, worked the whole area. She was great. Highly recommend making a reservation for lunch or dinner. It is fantastic.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't really memorable either. I'll probably stick with a beef tartare moving forward. On the other hand, their cheese fondue was memorable! A big pot of molten and winy cheese, long-handled forks, plenty of good crusty bread, and a couple of bottles of the local red made this a fully satisfying and convivial treat on a frosty December evening in Switzerland. Our waiter was so friendly and patient with us through broken French. He helped us choose an affordable wine pairing with our meal. When we walked in, it seemed the only option was to have fondue (the whole restaurant was having it) but we were able to order off a normal menu. When I'm back in Lausanne I'll definitely be coming back!
