Foremost is a great dry cleaners with an amazing tailor and alteration service. Please read on…read more
This is going to be a little long, but I hope you'll appreciate the history. A few years ago, I purchased two very expensive Italian suites (Loro Piana). I live near National City, but my tailor is way out in La Mesa. I asked a friend for a suggestion and he sent me to a place in Chula Vista. About a week later, when I picked up the suites, I realized the tailor had cut the fabric, changed the form of the jacket and basically ruined the nicest suites I'd ever purchased. I was disgusted, frustrated and with no option but to pay for the work and walk away.
I learned a vital lesson: A good tailor is like a good wife, stick with her till death do you part. But, my tailor, a Master Tailor, was still far away. About a year and ago, while shopping at PV Thrift Store in National City, someone slipped me a card for Foremost Cleaners. They explained there was a new tailor there named Analore. I'd just picked up a couple shirts with a custom monogram which wasn't even close to my initials. So, I decided to visit Foremost Cleaners, about a half-mile west of the Thrift store.
Analore "Ann" met me as I entered the cleaners. She seemed genuinely concerned for my minor alteration. And, she exuded a confidence in her ability to fix the problem. In short, I made a mental note to give her a try with a suit in the future. A month later, I purchase a seersucker suit for my daughter's graduation. The suit arrived days before the event, so I had no choice but to rush over to Foremost, the closest place to me house. This time Analore pinned everything and promise to have it ready as quickly as possible--she had other work ahead of mine. A couple days later she called to say the suit was ready! Simply put, she tailored it perfectly. And, the price was very reasonable. I made the switch: pants, suites, everything.
Now, this is where the story goes from good to great.
About a week ago, after literally searching for years for a place to redo collars that have torn in the seam, I thought about Ann again. She said she'd give it a try. Today I picked up the shirts. I was nothing short of amazed. My shirts were like new. I strongly recommend Foremost for all tailoring and dry-cleaning.
The owner is a man named "Cat" Morris. And, I could probably complete another review just raving about his personable way of treating everyone that enters the store. I can only give five stars--my rating would be higher if this were possible.
