Staff gave a quick introduction and then we were on the way through the cheese making exhibition and process. The audio tour comes with the entrance fee and is very informative. Lots of background and interesting facts. The displays are very well done. The highlight of course is the room with the cheesemaking process. You can overlook it from the top. We were lucky that day because the cheesemakers were just starting the process and we were able to see every step of it that day. They're not doing that all day long here, but we got lucky to catch the moment. You also get three cheese samples. A 6, a 9 and a 12-month old Gruyere. Very nice, I liked the 12 month the most. Has the best flavours in my opinion. There's also a restaurant in the building and an attached shop with cheese, souvenirs and more. It's a really great place to visit. And they keep updating the exhibition. Located right next to the train station it's easy to find and surely a must-do if here for the first time. Surely we'll be back.

The glacier walk can take 2 hours round trip not due to the length but walking in the snow. You'll definitely feel the altitude though it shouldn't be too big of a deal if you're in at least average health. Various activities require reservations like the dog sledding and some activities may not be available on all days so definitely inquire ahead of time. The cable car ride is 80 CHF round trip, 40 if you have the Swiss Travel Pass or half fare card.

Once you get there, you can buy a pass to ski or tO go to the top to enjoy all yHe other activities. They have skiing, sledding, mountain roller coaster, the peak bridge and dog sledding. The rollercoaster is on the side of the mountain BUT only open in the summer time. If you want to dog sled, you have to book in advance. I highly suggest you book as soon as you can because the slots fill up fast. The peak bridge is insane! It's literally a bridge that connects to mountain peaks. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE WEATHER! If you go on their website you can get a live view from the mountain. This is super important because of the weather isn't right, most attractions will be closed down. There's a cafe style restaurant and a sit down restaurant. The food was pretty good too. This was one of the best views and experience ever!

Our guide was friendly, funny and incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the wine. We did the Chablais tour in a private luxury van. It was too fantastic. We had to do another so we took the Lavaux tour too. We were immediately impressed by the views of the properties. We were able to see a lot more of the vineyards this way and it was nice to have someone who knew the good restaurants to enjoy the famous filet de perche. The wines were delightful. The Chablais was shockingly fresh. Some had bright, luscious melon and papaya aromas. This wine is all about the texture. They had a great finish that lingers for a bit with good acidic structure. The Lavaux wines were lush with tastes of dried cinnamon, spices, cherries and just a slight herbaceous note. They had nice acidity and were really mouthwatering. All were wonderful on the palette, stretching out across your whole tongue and leaving you wanting more. I wish we could find more Swiss wines in California. I guess we'll just have to come back. Positioned half way between Montureux and Vevey, this is a gorgeous little campsite, hidden just…read moreoff the main road. I believe that it is open in spring summer and Autumn - although you might get away with putting a tent here in the colder months. It is right on the lake front - has plentiful grassy tent and caravan sights and has very private area's for swiming and sunbathing. It's set down from the road so it is very quiet as well. There are bar facilities with tables set right at the water front. The staff are extremely friendly and were fluent in and welcoming to English speakers. I believe that they have occasional bands playing and small festivals but it otherwise seems like a very quiet and family friendly venue. Vevey or Montreux are each about a 20 minute walk around the lake in either direction. Busses stop out the front so it would be an easy venue to get to by public transport. This is a little gem of a place. It's a tranquil, quiet and beautiful location. The Alps soaring over the lake are something that have to be seen to be appreciated. But from here you can also enjoy all the night life and other adventures to be had in two of Switzerlands most cosmopolitan towns. (Well Montreux is anyway - but Vevay is also cool!)

BK is BK, you know what to expect. The bathroom costs...but at least you can use the ticket to get a discount at the shop, so it's not too bad. Pets are allowed in the restaurants, which is a plus. Outside there's lots of parking and also some green areas, in case your pet needs a break as well. When heading to (or through) France, this is always a good option for us, sometimes for a quick bite. But this time just for a bathroom break and quick shopping at the store.

Gorgeous views of the country side while you relax a bit before hitting the road again. Food is decent, but pricey for the quick bite, but then again everything is Switzerland is expensive. The beef was tough, but the snitzel, rosti & sausage were good, no complaints. Loved our Asian lady with the French accent, so adorable, being Asian myself, just makes me realize how unworldly & shelter Americans can be, should really learn another language, LOL. Lots of parking, very modern building perched-up over-looking valleys! Enjoy!

The inside style is early 20th century and mounted on the walls are several beautiful hand painted murals of different Swiss cities. Each of the painted panels represent destinations served when the restaurant first opened over 110 years ago: Neuchâtel, Montreux, Fribourg, Geneva and also the Matterhorn for Zermatt and Valais. It's a full service restaurant, and you can have a complete meal here or just coffee and a croissant. Ideal if you have a stop over in Lausanne. There's also an outside terrace with fairy lights when the weather is warm. It's definitely worth it just to walk inside and take a quick look up at the painted scenic murals.
