Being frugal and a DYI-er, I didn't even consider a planner at first. I then took to research on finding a cost effective planner. After tons of research, inquired with 6 planners explaining our $10K budget for our wedding. Two of them didn't even respond, 2 others had fees that were a majority of our budget, and 1 girl scoffed at our budget and condescendingly directed me to a blog mocking a $10K wedding budget. Cindy was the only one who provided a sincere, warm, and welcome response and was excited at the prospect of meeting with us to explore some possibilities within our budget. Ultimately we went with a close friend that is a wedding planner by trade who offered to do our wedding essentially for free. Cindy guided us through step by step and made what would have been a stressful process become nothing more than running a few extra errands a week. Because of her vast experience, she had the framework for wedding planned out from the get-go. We knew from the start that she would be doing all of the thinking, which was a great deal of weight lifted from our backs; we were in good hands. Our greatest fear in having a wedding planner was that we would be pressured into doing things the way the wedding planner wanted; this was not the case with Cindy. She worked with us and took very special care in customizing every minute detail in the wedding plan; she was very creative and was able to throw dozens of ideas our way, letting us pick and choose what we wanted to do. Whenever there was one thing that we said no or hesitated on, she was able to give us two more options; she wasn't satisfied until she knew that we were satisfied. Everytime we met Cindy she would bring a portfolio of everything we have accumulated so far. We'd always forget what we had to bring or what we should bring, but soon after we figured out that she would have everything that we needed; we pretty much relied on her for everything. She would send us a to-do list or reminders after every meeting, so we never once had to wonder what was left to be done. She definitely made wedding planning something that barely interfered with our lives; we were shocked how smooth everything went. Whether it was before, during or after the wedding, Cindy was available to us when we really needed her. After a rigorous search of bartenders, we luckily stumbled upon Missy and Tweena who were absolutely perfect. Since I didn't know much about alcohol, I laid out a barrage of questions to Missy which she quickly and patiently answered. After giving her a few thoughts on our theme and the drinks that we wanted, Missy was quick to understand fully what we wanted. We were also on a budget and wanted to shop for alcohol on our own, but that wasn't a problem at all because Missy knew exactly what to buy, in what volumes, and where to get the best deals. They even pushed for us to go with the harder to pour, bigger bottles to save us money. I would say that she was beyond excellent at estimating for the size of our wedding as nearly all of the alcohol was consumed by the end of our reception. Everything that they did in preparation of our reception was phenomenal, when it came to serving drinks...they were AMAZING!!! Talk about service with a smile, I have never seen bartenders as great as Missy and Tweena ever. They were so popular that our guests wanted to take pictures with them!
