My name is Robert Yapp and I use my name because I have nothing to hide from these clowns!…read more This attorney did not do his job. He was the attorney for my ex-wife who I fought against in court. I believe he was working with my attorney Nancy Kelso to keep our case ongoing so they could profit off of our divorce. We all sat in this guy's office & came to a settlement agreement. My attorney Kelso was supposed to draft the agreement so we could sign it & not have to appear in court. Symonds was supposed to run the numbers on my pension plan & the comp/ratio for our home to acquire a fair assessment to buy my ex out of the home. Neither did their job & 2 months later, a week before our hearing when I called Kelso to find out what was going on, I was promised that the agreement would be ready & I would not have to take a day off work to attend the hearing. The day before the hearing I get an email from Kelso with a settlement agreement that she wanted me to approve but the problem was the amount agreed to was far more than what was discussed 2 months earlier in addition to incorrect data such as our child's age, spelling errors in names etc... Kelso called me on the phone and told me I needed to appear in court and when I called her out reminding her that she told me she would have this handled I literally got yelled at by her and then she hung up on me. The next day in court Kelso was late, then called me into the conference room and told me my ex was entitled to half of everything. I said, "why" and she yelled, "it's the law." I told her I know what the damn law is but that we had an settlement agreement with $175,000... Kelso said she did not recall the details and I said, "of course not because you lost your damn notes and had to call Symonds." (which I have email documentation to back it up) Kelso has the nerve to reply to me saying, "how do you know that amount is correct?" I replied, "because it's my damn money I am losing idiot! You think I am going to forget $175,000" Kelso tried to get me to agree to this B.S. and I refused. Kelso says she can no longer represent me & that she has health issues and this case was not going to be resolved anytime soon. I told her fine I will represent my damn self! We got go court and Kelso tells the judge that she should have let me known earlier that she had health issues and that it was not my fault that there was no settlement agreement. The judge asks me if I am ok if Kelso dismisses herself from my case and I agree. Then, like a typical slimewad Eric Symonds, immediately attacks me for purposely prolonging the case and playing games with the legal system as if I fired Kelso when it was borderline abandonment of my case. What A POS! He then told my ex that I was being an A-hole and that he could get me to force sale my home. Even my ex had enough damn sense to not pursue that path because I have full custody of our young daughter and it would be bad for me to have to move into an apartment and pay higher rent than what I was paying for my mortgage. Symonds claims on his website to do what is best for both parties especially when children are involved. Symonds is a Marine Corps Veteran which disgusts me. The fact he served our country is fine but to turn into a complete sleeze-bag displaying a lack of ethics and willfully fitting the role of a typical slimy attorney that cares only about himself makes me question his manhood. The guy is a beta that uses the courtroom to display a pseudo alpha complex. My ex wanted to get this divorce over and asked me what it would take without using the attorney's. I told her, "well I don't have an attorney so if you want to go that route then you probably want to get rid of Symonds," which she did. We discussed the settlement agreement and she also recalled what I did regarding the $175,000. She told me about what Symonds told her about trying to make me move out and force sale the home and other stuff. We ended up discussing my pension and I agreed to add $10,000 more to the $175,000 for a total of $185,000 and we drafted up the paperwork ourselves and got the judge to sign off, End of story! I warned Symonds that he crapped in his own backyard because the AV is a very small community therefore, he should get out of town and go practice law elsewhere you POS! I also warned him to reimburse my ex-wife for not doing his job & he ignored me. Big mistake I back-charged Kelso $1000 & my credit card company took the money back. I had documentation, emails, texts of her inability to handle my case. I heard that she had cancer so I decided not to go after her for more. Note: Never pay an attorney in cash, check or debit. Use credit card. It's easier to get your money back if they flop like a limp penis! Many attorneys are a complete joke! Represent yourself, keep to the facts, keep your documents in order & be respectful in court. I even beat Richard Curtin in family court years ago when he represented my 1st ex.

While Eric represented my interests, he was not only outclassed, but overtly intimidated by Ms. Weaver or Ms. Pachone. Those women each have over 20 years of experience each, one now sitting on the bench as well. Give your $3500 to one of them. They simply walk over the top of attorneys in the class and experience such as Mr. Symonds.

I hired David after a California domestic violence restraining order petition was filed against me…read moreby a family member. I live out of state, had never been in this type of situation before, and was terrified--not only because of the court process, but because of the possible professional consequences if the case went badly. The first law firm I hired reviewed the facts and essentially concluded that I was probably going to lose. I then found David, and from the very first conversation, it was clear he saw the case differently. He did not minimize the situation or sugarcoat anything, but he immediately understood that there was more going on than what appeared on paper. He had a command of the procedural issues, the courtroom dynamics, and the strategy in a way that gave me confidence when I had almost none left. What stood out most was that David was not just technically excellent--he was creative, strategic, responsive, and genuinely caring. He understood my state of mind, took my fears seriously, and explained his plan in a way that made me feel protected rather than judged. He was always available when I needed him and treated the case with urgency and humanity. In the end, my mother and I did not even have to fly to California or appear remotely. David appeared for us, spoke directly with the other side at court, and by the time the matter resumed, the petitions against both of us were dropped. That result was an enormous relief. I went from believing I was about to lose everything to walking away with the case dismissed. David is the kind of lawyer people hope exists when they are scared and overwhelmed--the kind of lawyer you see in movies but do not expect to find in real life. I am incredibly grateful that I called him and trusted him.

He took the time to listen, walked me through what was happening in a way I could finally understand, and gave me clear guidance without making me feel rushed or judged. What stood out the most was how calm and supportive he was. I came in anxious and overwhelmed, and he genuinely helped ease my nerves just by explaining things plainly and giving me the confidence to move forward. It's rare to find an attorney who leads with both expertise and compassion. Even though my issue wasn't technically in his wheelhouse, he still made sure I left with real answers and a better path forward. I'm extremely grateful for his time and would highly recommend him to anyone who needs honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely supportive legal help.
