Overpriced and doesn't worth the money he's asking for, especially when I constantly had to chase him and his team for updates about my case. Very impatient and unpleasant. I'm a CPA and I contacted Shlomi regarding a PERM visa process. We agreed for $9,000 tuition that was paid upfront (to get a discount). In the engagement letter, $4,000 was upon commencement. After I gathered all the requested documents and filled out the firm's questionnaire (that are almost identical to the formal immigration forms), I had to stop the process due to personal reasons that led me to return to my country. By then Shlomi and his team did the following (according to him): 1. Created a PERM ad - Literally 5 lines of generic text of the job description and experience. 2. Request for prevailing wage (and receipt of determination) - Similar to the questionnaire that I already filled out - copy/paste. 3. Preparation of the ad posting (without the actual postings) - Contacted 4 different platforms to advertise the 5 sentences ad. For those 3 simple tasks which take less 1 hour to do altogether by a paralegal or a clerk, Shlomi is asking to keep the $4,000 that was paid as a commencement. I was willing to settle for $2,000, which is also above and beyond, but unfortunately there is no one to talk to. This guy has no integrity and no customer service whatsoever - think twice before you hire him and if you do, try to lower the commencement amount as much as possible and have a reasonable payment schedule. Will never work with him again and won't recommend to anyone.

Lots of history in the halls, a learning center, event and presentation room, plus good space to mix and mingle with folks. Lots of stairs but they do have elevators and lifts for those who need mobility help. While they were looking to kick us out quickly (the staff needed to close up), they still allowed many to get photos in and wrap up the occasion with attendees ranging from the State AG to the prior Presidents of the NYC and NY Bar. There was a law library here, too, although I think most of it if not all is online now.

Historically, this is one of the most important Bar Associations in the United States, not just New…read moreYork City. Also, once known as "The Association of the Bar of the City of New York' -for those who want to find earlier references to it or know it by its old name. And once a great resource for independent and small firm attorneys. This is the only significant law library in the City, though only open to member attorneys (but licensed attorneys from any County or jurisdiction can join). I have had a membership from outside Manhattan (NY County) and come in for meetings and to use the library. But the administration has decided to starve the library -its greatest resource. Now only the subscriptions on electronic resources from Westlaw and Lexis are available -but many resources were, and are, not on these subscriptions and are not updated as paper. This is due, I am told, to the fact that they seek to close the library space and repurpose it. -Electronic resources, i.e. terminals, can take up a much lesser space. Toward this end, they have (1) reduced the hours so that the library is only available until shortly before 5pm. This has been since the pandemic. And they are closed in summer on Fridays. (remember when the law library was open 6 days a week.) I think they are shooting themselves in the foot: lawyers who were members from outside Manhattan, or who have practices they cannot leave until after 5pm, cannot use the library any longer. They have less reason to belong or join. (2) They have also removed the legal research staff: though they do have some helpful staff who try to assist with basic copying and forwarding of information. There was a law librarian there; but he has been terminated and not replaced. And years before that, the library had its own computer and technical staff. These changes are deliberate, from my understanding. Doing this causes the entire City Bar to shift in its focus. And, when approached about returning to pre-Pandemic hours and staff, they can point to the minimal usage. But, of course, if you make it difficult to use the library for busy practitioners by restricting hours to 5pm, they will use the facility less. -A self-fulfilling prophecy that makes room for repurposing the library. The idea that keeping the library open evenings is too great a cost is a deliberate canard because the Bar remains open for meetings evenings and there is always security on the premises. At least, an electronic system could be put in place for entry. When it functions is still very adequate for most all legal research needs. The Small Firm Center -which was there overture toward solo and small firm attorneys has been removed, so that functionality, which permitted members to meet clients in midtown with the cost of membership, has now disappeared. Overall, a mixed bag.
