There is a lawyer, William Dalzell, in Clifton, NJ, who is supposed to be representing me in a…read moreWorkmen's Compensation case, for over seven years. I did everything that I was asked, doctor visits, etc. He left the law firm that I initially started with, so because he was representing me, I stayed with him. I now wish I had stayed with that law firm because he doesn't care about my case, only himself. Mr. Dalzell, worked at about 4 different law firms, during the years he represented me, and even went to work for the people that my Workman's Comp case was against! When he was no longer employed by them, which lasted from a few months to a year, he contacted me. With what he had done, I was tempted to go to the Ethics Board, but I waited to see what would happen. He started trying to tell me why he was let go, but I was furious. Why was he telling me about what happened when he betrayed my trust, and my back pain was worsening. So I told Mr. Dalzell that I need to get a car, to get around, and asked when my case was going to court. He told me his car got stolen in Newark, and he had to get a car. I asked him why was he telling me that, was it because I lived in Newark a few years ago? He started getting a little testy at what I was saying, so he ended the conversation. He sent paperwork for me to retain him again, and things got worse. I stayed with him because it had been several years, and starting a new lawyer meant starting all over again, and I don't have the energy at 76 years old. I was in my 60's when this case started. I guess he thought I would have died by now. Long story short, I got information that my case was in court, but not under William Dalzell's name , but under Mr. Andalaft, which is the firm that he is working under now. Mr. Dalzell requested again from me, same info from doctor visits, that I have given him when I traveled to NJ from NC, more than once. He also said that he wanted one thing from me, but sent me several documents that only needed my signature, which were medical requests. I was not about to go through that again, so I didn't sign them. Yet, he kept telling me my case was in court when I had the chance to ask, and that it was postponed because of Covid, then it was postponed for something else. Each time I called Andalaft & Associates, to speak to him, or Mr. Andalaft , they wouldn't call me back. They were also conveniently out. I've been treated like I don't matter, or my case, which is unprofessional. My last call from Mr. Dalzell was probably 4 months ago, and when I tried to call him back on his cell phone, the number had been changed. I called last week, and spoke to a lady who said he was in the office. I explained my situation and asked her to have him call me back. Still no call or correspondence. If my case is in court, and William Dalzell's name is not on the roster with my case, why haven't I been notified? Also, if the other lawyer, Mr. Andalaft is representing my case, why hasn't he called me, or sent me documentation supporting this. I'm putting this on YELP, because I've had enough of this insult. If they don't want a case, don't take it, but if your name is on a case, do a job worthy of your expertise. Your name speaks volumes, and they sure have for me. Be careful who you get to represent you, for anything, in any profession. I believe there are great lawyers in this country, but I didn't get them.
