Do NOT fall for this scam!! As everyone else has said, they do NOT provide the services that they were paid in advance for. They did not show up for the first snow fall, or return calls. I left multiple voicemails today, and finally got a call back - from a Restricted number, in case I should want to call back - and was told that it was MY fault because I had shoveled the driveway myself before they could get there... For the record, I shoveled that driveway at about midnight- 1 a.m. after waiting the entire day for them to show up. Absolutely awful experience. We've had record snowfall this season so far and they've shown up a total of 2 times so far. The contract they offered was to clear the driveway each time we got a 2 inch snowfall. Answering machine message basically tells customers not to call and that they'll get to you when they can. Except that they never do... I've been patient, but this is ridiculous. To the owners of Lawn & Snow King: either you 1) are stealing money from customers through misrepresentation 2) are incompetent and deserve terrible ratings or 3) have too many customers and owe a lot of refunds to those of us who you don't adequately serve. Like the other reviewers, I am angry and disgusted that I pre-paid for the Lawn and Snow King snow removal services. Record snowfall in January, and they have been to my house ONE TIME... and that one time was 48 hours after the Jan 5th blizzard. They were not clearing sidewalks at that time because it was too cold (boo-hoo), and I cleared 2/3 of my driveway myself so I could get out of the garage before they showed up. After this last storm, they never showed. I called and was told that they would "try" to get to my house today. I said they need to do more than try. We were silly enough to get contracts for two properties and Lawn and Snow King was awful at servicing both. Like one of the other reviewers, Snow King cleared our driveway ONE time - three days after the January 5th storm and only after I continuously had to nag him. On 1/29 Snow King sent a letter "we must exercise our right to 'deem the contract fulfilled." After ONE driveway clearing? give me a break! I encourage other customers to file a BBB complaint and submit a letter of Snow King's awful service to Angies list. Is there any way to give zero stars? Same complaints as everyone else. Paid for a winter season in advance, with no performance. This company could not even come out and put the orange sticks on our driveway before any snow fell. After I called (several times BTW) to inquire about the sticks, a man called me back telling me that "They did put sticks in the driveway and it is our responsibility to maintain them. Children like to pull them out and play sword fights with them!" I was incredulous that kids would be THAT bored to pull out ALL the sticks in my driveway (and leave all the other driveways w/o issue), I got my own sticks and marked the driveway. At this time I also confirmed that my house was on their list. Another time after a mediocre snowfall, I called to see whether they would be servicing our drive... the only answer was "We only come when it is more than 2 inches". I was pretty sure it was at least 2 inches, but the snow melted the next couple days due to the warm weather, so I didn't want to make a big issue. I gave them another benefit of the doubt... big mistake. However, today we received over 6 inches (probably more, I'm being conservative) and surprise, surprise... no service. There is no snow fall right now, all the big roads are clear, my neighborhood roads are clear, and the snow stopped falling at least 10 hours ago. I really do not see a possible issue that could give good cause for slow/no service. Of course, phone calls go to voicemail: "We're out servicing. Don't leave a message. "Goldilocks Snow Removal" First there was too much snow and they couldn't get to our house, then it was too cold, then we had a car parked in the drive and then the roads were too "trecherous"! I received a letter on January 31st telling me that after paying $150 for the season my contract was being terminated as of that day. They plowed my driveway 3 times. They didn't show up until four days after the really big snowfall in January. My husband and I both missed work because we couldn't get out. I had to call and pay for road service to get me out of my own driveway because I was stuck. I just found out from my neighbor that they operate under a different name. This company is horrible...buyer beware. First of all, they only came very late at night. We had city ordinances that require us not to leave our car in the street. So it's either a ticket or have my driveway shoveled. I paid to have the my city sidewalk shoveled and my driveway. They only did my driveway twice. At the end of January, I received a letter saying that they are not coming out anymore because there was too much snow although they only came out twice. And they never shoveled my sidewalk. Thisnis the worst service I have ever had. I have had this service for 3 years. The first year was ok, the second year I had to call and beg them more than 48 hours to please clear my driveway-luckily my neighbors cleared my sidewalks so I would not be fined. My Mother paid almost $300 for the season and they only showed up once. (Mind you it has only snowed a good 3 times this season.) She is in her 60's and doesn't need to be shoveling snow. Have left two voicemail messages and no response. Received a letter in the mail asking for more money so snow service isn't interrupted...what a joke!!! I really don't know if they are in Northville because is address Is a Box at the UPS store in Northville. In the beginning of December my mother got a fancy looking flier from them stating that they where giving a special pre-season offer of $60.00 off. My mother called twice and left a message twice, but never got a call back (also, the number they give goes only to a voicemail recording and you always have to leave a message, so you never get a live person when you call) It wasn't until the third call my mother put in that he called her back. He was very rude and nasty to my mother and all she was trying to do was ask about his services. He yelled at her and told her, "do you want a contract or not"? Pressed for time in the season, she took his offer and paid $339.00 for the driveway and to plow the city sidewalks in front of her house. Now the fun begins. Someone from there company came out to staked the plowing area and only staked one driveway and not the rest. My mother has a 1 and a half car driveway, she called again and left another message that is was staked wrong. He called back and said that's what they staked for the price and if she moves the stakes that she would be charged more money. The first real snow storm that we had this year on January 2nd, after it stop snowing, no one from Lawn and Snow King showed up, my mother who is 62 years old and as of late have developed some serious asthma related health problems, had to shovel herself out two days in a row, so she could get to work. Her neighbor helped her by snow blowing the city sidewalks. January 4th was when the second big storm started late that night. Snowed all day on the January 5th and stopped at 1:00am in the morning Monday January 6th. Now in his contract it says they don't come out unless its 2 inches or more, that it has stopped snowing and that it will be done within one work shift. Well all those contingences where met. No one came out to plow here out again after the Storm, I had to come and plow her driveway so she could get to work. I only plowed enough so she could get her car out, because I wanted to see if they would come to do what they were paid to do. Lawn and Snow King never came that night. January 7th My mother called in the morning and the voicemail said to be patient all the driveways and city sidewalks would be done by the end of the night on Tuesday January 7th. At 10:00pm Tuesday the 7th, the rest of the driveway wasn't done and the city sidewalk my mother paid extra for wasn't done either. On January 8th I called and left a message and I also emailed the guy at kinglawnandsnow@me.com and basically told him to call me. (I can provide the email as well to you). The man called from a blocked phone number and would not tell me his name. I told him that his trucks never came to plow out my mother's driveway or city sidewalks, he said, that he has 2200 customers from Canton to Troy and that we needed to be patient, I said your voicemail message said it would all be done all at the end of the night on the 7th? He said it was to dangerous to do sidewalks and that they would all be done on Friday. I told him that this is nothing but a bunch of excuses, and my mother pre-paid for services to be rendered and no services had been preformed yet and that it was best if he gave us a refund, because he clearly could do the job (still hasn't as I write this to you on Saturday January 11th). He told me no refunds It company policy, I said you didn't do anything to deserve the money. He started yelling at me and using all types of profanity f-bombs, go to HELL etc..... He told me that he need to speak to my mother because that who he has the contract with and he hung up. My mother called back that night and told him to call her and he still hasn't returned the phone yet. If this guy has 2200 customers to do the job right we would have to have around 400 trucks and if everyone paid $339 for there snow service then that means he has pocketed $745,800.00!!!! We too are disappointed in the performance of this company. We tried them this year after their flyer arrived in our mail box in the fall. We prepaid for the season deciding to omit our circular driveway and have them plow only the main drive. The very first snow fall they showed up midway thru the second day after the snow. After that they only showed up 3 more times continuing to pile snow at the head of the driveway making getting in and of the garage difficult. We found their voice mail messages to be rather rude most of the time. On several occasions they failed to come out because in their estimation the required 2" of snow did not fall, even though we had 3+ inches on the driveway. In looking at data available this company removed less than 25% of this season's snowfall, and then deemed the contract 100% fulfilled with a full 40% of the contracted time remaining. We also found it unusual that in early January they sent out mailing asking for people to sign up and prepay for the 2014-2015 season. In our opinion this company suffers from truly poor management or they are just trying to rip off the public. We recommend that anyone receiving a mailing or flyer or consider using this company to BEWARE. read more

I sent a certified letter to cancel service and I'm still waiting for a refund. After several emails and unanswered phone messages I finally got a hold of him last week. He told me he didn't have any money and I'd have to wait until he starts cutting grass again. I went to file a claim in small claims court today and can't because I don't have his address, only the PO BOX. He really is a scam artist and should be in jail for fraud. My bigest mistake......Last year I had their service and there were some issues with them cutting the lawn too low and not showing up to mow the lawn for a few weeks.This service is awful. The contract states that they will edge everyother week, which they never did. They have not mowed my lawn in 3 weeks and the last time they mowed they missed spots and it was very uneven. Their prices may be cheaper than other services, but you pay for what you get and they are not worth the headaches.
