During quoting he…read moreemphasized that he would make sure the work was done with quality and would come back as he needed if I was unhappy with something. This promise was not kept. For context we started a job worth about $4000 back in Feb 2024 -- replacement toilets, installing vent hood, fixing a portion of drywall and paint in 3 spots in the ceiling, and changing window balances. It is now a year and half later and I am dissatisfied with everything but the vent hood and it has been so difficult to get Mike to come back and fix things. Toilet replacement - toilet was leaking from the flange somewhere still after the replacement, he would not come back to fix after I asked him 3 times about this issue Paint - we had a portion of the ceiling painted after drywall repairs -- I had a can of paint in my garage from previous homeowner but wasn't sure if it would match. Mike went ahead and did the whole ceiling and it ended up not matching -- he still charged ME when doing the repainting, implying that I took responsibility. Lesson learned -- don't ever try to help a contractor. Overall just a really confusing experience, I should have followed my instincts and pestered about the expectations and cost but I thought we had some rapport for some reason. Changing window balances - This was the most egregious... we needed new window balances on 10 or so windows in my home per Mike's suggestion. I called him and texted him multiple times asking when he would come back to do this... it took him several months and he gave me excuses saying it was hard for him to get the parts, because he wanted to give me quality balances and not the cheap kind. When he came he didn't bring the balances, and he judged that my old balances were fine and they just needed adjusting. He actually left one window without a balance, and never got back to me about the new parts which I wanted left at my place because it was part of the original contract. Also after a few weeks the problem came back and the windows were tough to open again.

We finally decided that it was time to replace our 20 year old wooden deck. Our criteria was a deck that was durable and maintenance-free. The annual cleaning/staining/sealing of the deck was getting old. Our research lead us to Timber Tech and their line of composite decking materials. We researched Timber Tech authorized deck construction companies in DFW. Cody Lawrence of Lawrence Construction Services contacted us and set up a meeting to assess our decking project. We were very impressed with his knowledge of the Timber Tech decking process and his system for staying on top of each construction project. The new deck looks great and has a 25 year transferable warranty on the Timber Tech materials. The best part is that its virtually maintenance-free. We hired Cody to move a pergola from our backyard onto our patio. Upon inspection Cody let us know that the pergola was needing some support. After Cody was finished with the pergola, it was way better than before. He shored it up and moved it and worked with the concrete contractors we hired. Our patio looks so great now. I have used Cody and his crew for several other jobs. Ceiling fan replacement over a pool table on a very high ceiling, gates, swimming pool enclosure, and other jobs. Mike came out to install my TV frame in my backyard, ran the electrical, and properly set up the electrical panel for the project. He did an excellent job and was able to get everything done at a very reasonable and affordable cost. Mike was extremely friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and family-oriented. One thing I really appreciated was that he didn't just focus on the job I hired him for. He took the time to look around my home, point out other things I could do to improve my space, and give me ideas for future projects. What impressed me most was how willing Mike was to listen to my vision and find ways to make it happen. I had a particular idea of how I wanted my backyard project to look, and instead of trying to change my vision, he worked with me to figure out the best way to achieve it. Oddly enough today, I am getting a bunch of random calls and texts about a home remodel. I suspect the owner is putting my phone number on several websites to spam me with calls and texts. I will be calling the police to discuss my options and contacting Yelp directly. The estimator never showed up and called me last second to reschedule. I drove from work to meet them and was a no show. My time is valuable too. I work Monday through Friday and have to take time off for estimates or projects.

I contacted quite a few general contractors for my kitchen remodel and found this company. Serge is…read morevery responsive and gave me a detailed price quote but allowed me to customize the quote to meet my budget. He also found a cabinet manufacturer that would give me the look I wanted but within my budget. He allowed me to set up some payments based on completion milestones instead of paying everything up front and he also offers credit! The kitchen is looking amazing and I was very happy and surprised at the level of customization that took mid grade manufactured cabinets to highly custom cabinets once he finished with them. My only advice is to make sure you don't skip the sit down with your GC to discuss your lay out and sign off on it so that you don't have any misunderstandings. I was very busy and missed our scheduled meeting and ended up with a wrong cabinet ordered. Luckily, it was easily switched out for the correct one. Serge also did some extra work for me that I wasn't expecting in order to make up for the brief delay, which was a nice surprise. Serge has a great person doing his carpentry work for both rough in and finish, and he took the waviest of walls and scribed the trim and crown molding so that it looks virtually perfect. I hope to use Tex-Tile Construction again in the near future and was happy to know that he has very reasonably priced subs in several other key areas. Bottom line is that Serge tries very hard to please his customers, is accommodating and he even does some of the work himself when appropriate , which you don't see much anymore.

what a fabulous painting company! i needed some touch-up work that needed to be done from a…read moreprevious painting job. first, victor came by to note all that needed to be done. he patiently followed me to each room, carefully noting all my concerns and those particular areas that needed to be painted. the painters came the next day, along with victor. victor put blue tape on every area that needed attention. the painters worked diligently and finished in less than 3 hours. they cleaned up, putting my heavy paint pails back in the garage. they were happy to open my windows, when i requested. and most of all, the painting job was impeccable! the paint on my doors had no streaks, painted very smoothly. they masterfully filled in some big holes on one of my doors. i've used this company before and will continue to call them with all my painting needs. thank you atd painting, again!
