1) Dr Green did not exam my daughter or take a complete history. 2) his recommendations did not work at all for her acne and were very expensive 3) he overbilled us by charging a level 4 visit when it was clearly a level 2. 4) Our insurance paid him on time, yet his office staff has bullied me when we do not owe anything. In fact, he overbilled, so he owes the insurance. They claimed it was my responsibility to get the proof that my insurance paid. As a physician myself, that is not how it works. Their billing company needs to contact Carefirst, not me. 5) He missed a diagnosis of skin cancer in a patient that I referred to him. Be very careful with this physician. My experience was similar to that of a reviewer's from 2019. This doctor was inappropriate and condescending toward me last week. He froze a benign growth off my neck, which he didn't touch. However, he repeatedly placed his hands on my knees and thighs, adding that I was "Sweet." Furthermore, there was no nurse in the room. Dr. Green, it's 2022. Dr. Green was fine, but Mary at the front was very unprofessional! I came in a day before my appointment to sign paperwork and give my ID and insurance card (which I asked if I could and someone said that wasn't a problem). She told me I couldn't do that and she would take it at the time of my appointment. I explained to her I asked if I could and you guys said it wouldn't be a problem. During our conversation she took a phone call without excusing herself. She put the caller on hold processed to do something that I guess she was doing before I came in and then took the phone call again. So she just had me standing at the front desk and was ignoring me. I have been a patient of Dr. Green's for 13 years. He has treated me for acne, skin cancer, psoriasis, age spots and given me fillers (for lines). I think he is warm, very honest and smart. Recently I had something going on in my mouth, that was quite painful, for 1 1/2 years, I had seen 3 dentists, my Internist and an ENT doctor and no one prescribed anything that helped. I went to see him because the other doctors had failed me and he was able to prescribe a medication to me that really "cured" the infection or fungal thing that was going on. His office is run very well. The staff are courteous, knowledgeable and kind. His office is run well and he is usually on time. I have referred many other people to him. Just had Botox for the first time ever with Dr. Green and I couldn't be happier with the results!! 10 years of frowning and lack of sleep as a 911 dispatcher wiped away and it looks completely natural! I also met with Chelsea the aesthetician who recommended some great eye creams for me! Everyone in the office is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable and welcome. I wanted to make an appointment after visiting the website. They advertised complimentary consultation but that was misleading as it was only for a consult with an aesthetician. Then I asked the front desk if insurance is accepted to which she responded, yes, but most of the procedures are cosmetic. It's almost like she shut the door on me and didn't want a new client. She could've responded, yes and told me what insurance is accepted. What if my concern was medical?? She clearly was not enjoying her job, day, etc. Whatever it was, I could hear it in her voice. I'm sure the dermatologists are great, but I won't know because I will be looking elsewhere. This is not the kind of service I want or need nor do I need that kind of energy rubbing off on me. Dr. Green is great, but the company he uses for his billing is awful. Privia Medical Group provides statements that couldn't be reconciled by a CPA. Unfortunately, his billing staff in the office is equally cryptic. I have requested a copy of the same receipt 3 times, to provide to my FSA. On all three occasions, I received a laundry list of charges, none of which match the fee I was charged. It's as if they have no record of what they billed to my credit card. I'm actually starting to wonder if I was even billed correctly. I've never experienced anything like this before and I don't intend to again. I'll never go back to this dermatologist. I just had my first visit with Dr. Green, who was strongly recommended by two friends. I was able to make an appointment right away and was seen on time! I have found this isn't the case in most doctors offices. Dr. Greens bedside manner was surprisingly disarming and very engaging. He humanized the process for me which was such a contrast to a visit I had with another dermatologist several years ago. The other doctor was cold and couldn't get me out of her office quick enough. After years of seeing Dr Green, I am leaving his practice. My experience with him was on and off. When I came in for frivolous cosmetic procedures, he was pleasant and performed the procedures very well. But when I had real concerns he was at times dismissive and condescending. I have an advanced degree and I read up on my condition not on WebMD. I'd like to get intelligent answers to my questions. Personally, I feel like he can barely tolerate his patients. He clearly reads the negative comments and then works on his bed manners, so sometimes you will get a nice Dr Green. Other times, his attitude will break through and you will feel like a fool who wasted his time. The grey haired front desk assistant is a whole other story. She does not bother to greet a patient and is very curt. I've been coming here for years thinking that a good doctor has the right to be unpleasant. But recently I realized that doctor-patient relationship affects the care I receive. I am ready to explore other options and find a doctor who will listen, not dismiss, and explain. I was a patient of Dr. Green's for probably 20 years or close to it. He was always a little too touchy feely for me, but last time I was there, he made me very uncomfortable, unnecessarily running his hands down my arms and back several times. Then when I mentioned foods affecting skin, especially with acne and eczema, he basically told me I was stupid. He said there is no possible way, it's not scientifically possible, etc. I know many people whose acne completely cleared up when they eliminated dairy or gluten or both, and people whose eczema was healed by eliminating gluten. The fact that he's unwilling to even be open to the idea, much less hear testimonials and educate himself has me searching for a new dermatologist. read more

I wish I had seen other cautionary tales about this practice before I scheduled an appointment, but the reviews made it seem like a place worth trying. I would definitely never recommend this place to anyone, and I can guarantee I'm not going back. Unlike others, I did not find scheduling an appointment to be easy. I was placed on hold for over 5 minutes each time I called (I hung up the first time because I thought they forgot about me, so I called back). I do appreciate the ability to fill out paperwork online ahead of time. I showed up for my first appointment early. No one acknowledged me when I walked in, even though there were two people behind the desk and another woman working AT the desk. After signing in I stood there for a few moments trying to hand them my driver's license and insurance information, but continued to be ignored. I sat down and waited, and after both front desk people had noticeably been off the phone for about 7 minutes, I tried again. This time they finally took my documents. After that I only had to wait a few minutes before being taken back to an exam room. The doctor came in shortly after the tech left. If you value having a doctor listen to your concerns, THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU. As other reviewers have said, he is rude and condescending. When I got upset he reverted back to lecturing and talking down to me even more. The comments were snarky, back-handed, and rude. I agree also with the reviewer that said he laughs 'at' you rather than 'with' you. In my experience, this is true, too. I picked this doctor based on the reviews and the research I did ahead of time. It seemed on paper that he knew what he was talking about, and I hoped to have some luck. Rather, instead of receiving valuable medical advice for skin issues I've had for years, I found this to be an incredibly offensive and insulting experience. I'm disappointed in myself for staying for the whole appointment it was so bad. And PS - checking out isn't much better than checking in. The front desk will continue to ignore you, and even when one person is off the phone they can't be bothered to help you until the other person has completed their call. Ridiculous. You should also check out the reviews on this page that are listed as "not recommended." They are 100% accurate, and it's no wonder why this office would want them to be "not recommended." read more

So I give this place 2 stars b/c maybe Dr. Green is knowledgeable. I know he wrote a book and also was voted one of the best dermatologists by the Washingtonian magazine, but his bedside manner is just so awful so I am really not sure how he got the votes! Dr. Green is just superbly rude and condesceding. He makes me feel like a total idiot everytime I visit. It's easy to get an appointment and I typically don't have to wait so I have continued seeing him. He is pretty impatient and is definitely a lecturer. He makes snarky comments and also will actually laugh at you...like "at" you , not "with" you. It's actually quite uncomfortable. He also gave me a peel once and then totally forgot about me. Granted, the peel is self timed so I didn't have to worry about damage but he seriously f-o-r-g-o-t about me. I finally roamed out of the office and down the hall and he was like "oh, I thought you knew you could leave"...ummmmm, nope. I would avoid this place. I also think Dr. Green is rude. The last time I went to him was for a rash. When he found out that the rash was sun-related his comment was something like "more sun exposure for you, more cancer for you, more money for me!". He then dismissed the rash (which was driving me absolutely nuts) to search for signs of skin cancer (appropriate in my case as I am a fair-skinned, freckled, red-head). I do go regularly for full-body scans, but there is never a nurse or assistant in the room when he does this. I think he is very proficient, which is why I keep going back. read more

Dr. Green is one of the most kind, caring and compassionate physicians I know. He listens carefully and thoughtfully, and spends as much time with his patients as is needed. I never feel like he is in a rush to get me out. He explains every procedure in detail and makes sure that his patients understand everything clearly. Dr. Green is great for treating acne. He is the only Doctor I have ever seen who can get it under control. He is also very honest and will not try to sell you anything not needed. When he uses Botox or fillers he is very conservative and does not make you look frozen or ridiculous. He is also easy to talk to with a calm disposition. read more

I went to see Dr. Green for a skin problem. He saw me for about 2 minutes, was very dismissive towards my issue, told me to use an over the counter lotion and gave me no other advice. Several weeks later I went to a different dermatologist who prescribed a very standard prescription cream that cleared up my issue within less than 24 hours. And I'm wondering why Dr. Green did nothing to help me. read more

Arrogant, condescending, unprofessional, unconcerned... If you have a long wait to see the doctor, you may notice that he seems to spend the longest times with attractive women coming for cosmetic procedures. Look for needle marks & facial swelling & women holding ice packs to faces. He spent less than 5 minutes diagnosing me during 1st appointment. He sounded very annoyed as he told me I was imagining a skin irritation. I didn't have insurance & paid out of pocket for exam. I complained to lady at desk & she snarkily informed me that if I had further questions, I could make another appt. to see him & pay for another visit. Ouch! I went to see another dermatologist in the area & she spent plenty of time & ran some tests. Turned out that I had a contagious skin infection which she cured with prescription medication. My first visit with Dr. Green was months ago for filler in the tear trough. I had hollows under the eye. He injected Bolotero. First off, he did not offer any numbing gel so I was in a lot of pain and had to close my eyes a lot. Results.............. I went from having hollows to under eye bags. I wasted $500.00 and now I have to live with this because if I get the hyalouronidase to dissolve it that would cost me more money and I would not trust him to do it right. The aesthetician at Dr. Green's office, Chelsea, is by far the best. She listens to my concerns, is very gentle, and fun to talk to. She also does the best job of waxing brows. I literally won't ever let anyone touch my brows again except her. They look perfect! She also helped color match me for the makeup line they carry and pick out a new mineral foundation that I am very excited about. I will definitely be going back to see her regularly! read more

I went in to have something excised, and Dr. Green and his staff were outstanding. Easy to make appointment, though they had only one open slot the week that I wanted to get in, so I grabbed it and arranged my schedule around that. His office staff were very polite, kind, professional, informative, and helpful. Once Dr. Green came in to the room, he answered my questions, looked at a few areas of skin that we had not discussed previously, and performed the scheduled procedure. He worked quickly, gently, efficiently, painlessly. His staff gave me followup care instructions and scheduled appointment to remove sutures. I'm extremely pleased how little redness remains and how un-noticeable the site is just two weeks after. Overall my experience with Dr. Green was outstanding and I can't recommend him enough to others! read more
