They were certainly willing to get paid, but not so much willing to do any work. It almost feels like they charge you $100 just to say hi. Most victims of employment crimes cannot afford to pay them, and if they can. They are great at double victimization. They claim to represent the victim of abuse and then they abuse the victim almost more than the abuser. Awful firm. Messed up demand letter multiple times, cost over $4,000 for them to send it out. Can't get them to stop 'representing' us, we tell them we're not moving forward and they send letters asking for money to continue the case, they keep saying they're going to bill us for more and more when we don't want their representation anymore.... they will call you and e-mail you and send you letters and not stop and bill you for every one of them. If I could give zero stars I would because that's basically what they did for me...zero, NOTHING! I've worked with this firm before, many years ago and they were great but this time they took complete advantage because of me. I was wrongfully terminated by CRATER COMMUNITY HOSPICE because I have a chronic illness. I didn't miss excessive days from work and never took long periods of time off but the moment Crater found out about my illness, chronic Lyme disease things started to change. They actually made accommodations for any doctors appointments and wrote me a letter of accommodations. They seemed extremely supportive but that was just a ruse. Eventually the harassment and bullying began. The HR Director, if you want to call her that, would call me and make inappropriate statements and asked me questions that were totally illegal from an employer standpoint. I contacted the CEO via email regarding my concerns with HR and the harassment from the other staff involved but if you can believe it he was absolutely the worse. He tried to lie regarding any accommodations they had made for me, I was told that I needed to cancel all medical appointments, which is also illegal. He even went as far as to defame and slander me on video. Yes...I actually have a video of him stating to a police officer that "they terminated me because I am mentally unstable", which is also illegal per ADA guidelines. I did nothing wrong at all. I've never been terminated from a job in my whole life so it has taken a horrible toll on my confidence and self esteem. I contacted Lawrence & Queen and set up a phone consultation which cost $200. I told them my story and they seemed very sympathetic and assured me that I definitely had a case from wrongful termination based on the EEOC and ADA guidelines. Upon the conclusion of my consultation I paid the retainer of $2500 because I felt so confident that this would turn out in my favor. After they informed CRATER COMMUNITY HOSPICE that they were representing me in a case against them, Crater actually filed a bogus complaint against my nursing license in retaliation, which I also had to hire Lawrence & Queen for. For the first couple of weeks the communication was great and they updated me throughly. They did contact the Department of Health Professionals but never followed through....concerning my case against Crater I heard nothing. After about 3 months of very spotty communication and over $10,000 in legal fees they contacted me via email towards the end of June and stated that they could no longer represent me due to a conflict of interest. WHAT! They actually admitted that they were personal acquaintances with CRATER COMMUNITY HOSPICE'S counsel. Meaning they were personal friends with Crater's attorney. They knew this the entire time and did not admit it until it got to the point where they had to start being nasty towards my former employer. I actually was stunned and couldn't believe it. Not only did they lie and steal from me but they took advantage of me in the worst way possible, they took advantage of a woman with a chronic illness that was desperate for redemption. All along they were in bed with Crater. Lawrence & Queen did absolutely nothing for me. I now have to defend myself in order to keep my license, I have to file charges myself with the EEOC and ADA. I would live to hire another attorney but I'm broke and I don't trust anyone now. They did nothing at all except for steal all if my savings. How anyone at that firm sleeps at night I will never know. Lawrence & Queen are the MOST UNETHICAL group of lawyers I've ever been involved with. Along with CRATER COMMUNITY HOSPICE they managed to ruin my life. read more

Money grab. They were quick enough to take my case and charge many hours of fees. In the end, I paid thousands of dollars for one drafted document and a few emails to opposing counsel. Then when it came time to go to court, and with full knowledge I had little time before the statute of limitations expired, they sought an incredibly exorbitant amount for a litigation retainer, clearly just trying to get rid of me after they'd profited greatly for what surely amounted to only a few hours of work on their end. As a practicing attorney myself, I was stunned at the clear scheme. Very unprofessional to go about a case in that way, to provide absolutely no warning they'd charge a litigation retainer about three times any I've ever seen, and very unprofessional to wait until right before my statute of limitations timeframe was up. Not to mention, advice I received was also not in accordance with federal employment law. Then, after you're done, they bombard you with advertisement emails and ask for reviews (which, after that, I am more than willing to oblige). So as I said, it's nothing but a money grab. Do not retain this Law firm. I waited 2 yrs and spent thousands of dollars until my case basically expired. My original attorney quit. My second attorney never got caught up on my case. They wrote 2 extremely weak demand letters that the employers laughed at. I had a strong case that they paid no real attention to. The only real contact they make is when your account gets low and they want you to replenish. I paid over 6,000 dollars and 2 demand letters is pretty much all I got. Save your money and time. Run. I've used Lawrence and Associates in an employment case in 2014. They took over $10,000 from me. Their interest rate was 36 percent. The attorney that represented me, Adam, acted as if he were representing the other party and not me at the hearing. Both parties were suppose to have 4 hours each. He allowed me 1 hour and the other side the remaining of my time. He sat there like a lump on a log and allowed the other side to bash me without defending me. When he was out of town his manager/supervisor was supposed to be reviewing my file with higher hourly rates. Save your money with a private attorney who may get the job done. read more

I hired Lawrence & Associates for a sex discrimination and harassment law suit after I had filed with the EEOC. You will get charged an arm and a leg for them literally doing nothing but send update letters. When I received drafts of documents - they were riddled with inaccuracies and typos - as though the attorney on staff had not even bothered to review it before it went out. They missed important filing dates and told me that I could not file an assault report with the police because I "had waited too long" and "there were no witnesses." This was not legally correct, but I believed them. I understand that they did not feel that my piddling case was worth their time - after all, they were working on a multi-million dollar settlement (one of the largest in history) to be bothered with my worthless case. It was a terrible experience that originated with my harassment, continued on through the EEOC and cumulated with this law firm. As Madeleine Albright said, "There is a special place in H**l for women who don't help other women." I believe that statement also applies to these attorneys. If you have tons of money to throw behind your case - they will probably go to bat for you - if not, you may as well burn your money in a dumpster fire. read more
