Everyone Loves LAX! Their life mission is to get you in & out. Excellent customer service, as they will let you know what's trending & getting good feedback, and what will get you the best buck for your bang. They also have drink samples sometimes during the afternoon time. Bargain wise there is no competition, as they have the best prices in the D.M.V. Even compared to all the wholesale retailers (Costco, BJS, Sam's etc.) The area is a bit sketchy, as it's in the heart of the hood. Advice for out of towners: mind yours & stick to the task at hand & you'll be straight!! Parking is tight, especially at night & even worse on the weekends. Purchased a $55 bottle of Buffalo Trace Whiskey that was already opened when I got home. Upon calling and speaking directly to Lax the owner, he tells me that they have camera footage that the bottle was sealed when they sold it and there is nothing they can do about it. #1 - They expect me to believe they have cameras with good enough resolution that they can zoom in to see a bottles seal? The guy over the phone tells me, "you opened the bottle drank some and want to return it", yet the bottle is still full and I am just concerned for my safety to drink from a pre-opened bottle. DC does not have an ABC, so I guess this is an alternative. Plenty of options for spirits, beer, and mixers. Not a wide variety of wine. We stopped by here to prepare for New Year's Eve. They rush you when you are looking at the liquor like you HAD to know what you wanted to enter the store. They have a great selection and pricing is awesome but I'd I'm spending my money...a little respect would be appreciated and not treating me like I'm annoying you by looking or asking questions. Lax has the best prices around! The store is clean, there's always security or MPD and plenty of cashiers. I've always had a smooth experience coming here. On certain days it can get a bit crowded in the parking lot. I usually come right after work and it isn't so bad. Lines in the store may also be long, however the cashiers are fast and like I said, the prices are great so it is worth the wait! Just tried their new Beltsville location (they apparently took over Old Line that was in the same location) - the clerk's were moving about with their masks pulled down, passing close to customers. One called me to the register as she was returning - I pointed to my mask and she said she'd have her's on when I stepped up. Then she scanned my ID; probably store policy, but I don't need their POS System capturing my info. The law says they have to confirm my age, but nothing about capturing that info. Maybe it's benign, but I have no way of knowing. The cap-off was the reduced selection of wine. I gave it a try, but won't be going back. read more

I love this place I went for the first time after hearing so much about it. They were very customer service friendly, and they had exactly what I was looking for. I tried to find these limited edition items at other stores and they did not have it. I tried all of the major retailers, and could not find it, but, this store had it. Yes, it's in a urban, pretentious area, but, sometimes you have to slum to get good stuff. This place totally beats 51, where u go and gotta do your transaction through a bulletproof windows lol, and you better be happy if you make it out alive, LOL. Lax, totally rocks.
