I came here to avail of their "Refreshing Start" package which included a classic massage, a scalp care or scalp and shoulders massage, and a foot scrub. I was able to luckily book my appointment at the last minute on the same day I called and made it. The Spa is easily found in a corner of Bonifacio high Street in the nicer area. The interior has a nice ambiance to it, very spa-like. They offer you hot ginger tea when you walk in, but their robes are odd and rough and also(!) I have a feeling many naked women have sat on the couch in the lounge with their naked woman parts all over it so I sincerely hope that they clean that fabric often, but since it's fabric and harder to clean I can't vouch for the cleanliness there. I definitely took care to keep myself off of it and sat on my towel to wait. Moving on.
Things I did wrong: I had shaved my legs and exfoliated the day before, which I didn't think about when I chose the peppermint foot scrub. Also, my scalp is very sensitive, and I really just wanted a neck and shoulders massage but didn't think about when picking the scalp and shoulders massage option. Bad idea. Also, I chose the deluxe room, but maybe should have spent a tiny bit more on the next level up one, though it didn't bother me too much.
So! Learn from my mistakes. I also should have brought my own shampoo to make use of the showers there. The sauna was good but I neglected to bring my own little towel with me, which I usually bring when I go into saunas to keep my head and neck cold. I couldn't stay in there too long. After I was done with my shower, my shiatsu massage went well. I was a bit disconcerted at the lack of privacy but ehh. My masseuse was capable and distant, and asked if the pressure was ok. I like a lot of pressure, so I said yes.
When it was done I was led back to the lounge to upstairs, where I had booked my neck and shoulders the same time as my peppermint foot scrub to save time. Boy was that a mistake, but I already mentioned that. Suffice to say it was an agonizing 45 minutes. I thought my masseuses could not possibly scrub me harder, one on my head with her fingernails digging into my sensitive scalp (I lost a good amount of hair in the shower after that) and one on my poor raw feet, exfoliating til I was sure my calves would bleed. I didn't have any calluses either, so it was not a necessary add-on. My foot lady was super nice and friendly, but I was not happy about how my package ended.
Overall, I'd recommend them for their massages and would go back JUST for that. Don't forget to tip! read more
