From the pre-trip communications, to the quick tutorial on the machines, to the tour itself - everything Steve did with our group was perfect. Steve was amazing with the boys, a wealth of knowledge about the Northwoods of Wisconsin and many other adventure spots across the globe. Being 3 dads that have had the fortune and opportunity to do many fun things all over the place, we all agreed that a day with Steve was worth double what we paid based on the total value of the experience. First time on a snowmobile and decided it would be a good idea to go on a tour. Decker tours popped…read moreup first on Google so I gave them a try. The tour at best was 2 stars. The tour guide miscounted and I almost didn't get a snowmobile. The one I did get wouldn't turn on so we spent 15 minutes waiting for them to turn it on and warm up. Finally we got on the trail and what should have been a 4 hour tour, turned into 6 hours because the snowmobiles kept breaking. The owners snowmobile kept overheating so we kept stopping so he could throw snow on the engine. One snowmobile just stopped 15 miles into the tour and they had to be picked up. Halfway through the tour we stopped at a gas station for 30 minutes and my snowmobile would not turn on so they had to tow it. We switched a couple people and I got someone else's snowmobile. Unfortunately I cannot recommend Decker tours to anyone. You have to update equipment and gear. My dad got frost burn/frostbite under his chin because of faulty head gear. It seemed like they didn't care what you had on. The handle bar warmers weren't working on mine or my father's snowmobile. There are plenty of other places that have new gear and equipment. You don't need a tour if you're a first time rider.
