Big meals, cheap but quantity over quality. Not bad. Personally I'd prefer a smaller meal of higher quality.

Mum and I have visited Armanii's more than a handful of times and the majority of the food we've…read moretasted is great. Let me explain. The first 3 or 4 times we visited, we had the parmigiana with fries and salad and it was beautiful. The chicken was HUGE the first time but was considerably smaller the following times, but that didn't phase me as the taste was still there. The thing is, there are way too many fries on the plate because the plate is so big and i assume the cooks feel they need to fill the space. This meal costs around $17.50. More is less people! One time i had ordered the seafood basket, which was disappointing and a waste of money. The seafood and fries came in a metal basket which was standing on a wooden chopping board with the salad on the side. Most of the basket was filled with fries on the bottom and i think there were 3 prawns and 3 calamari rings, along with 2 long sticks of fish (which was the only aspect i enjoyed) so this was highly disappointing. The price for this meal was around $14.00. Mum had the seafood pizza on this occasion and was also disappointed as she felt there wasn't enough topping on the pizza and most of it was dough. She wouldn't order it again. Can't remember the price of this pizza, sorry folks. The last time we visited, which was a week and a half ago, the food we ordered (both were parmigiana's with fries and salad) the food was a little on the cold side by the time it got to us and took longer than usual. It was around 1pm so the restaurant had some patrons, but not enough to slow down the kitchen that much. As for the staff, they are very friendly, especially a young dark-haired girl (name unknown) and a young guy that typically serves us, but every time we have visited the tables are stacked with dishes and the seats aren't wiped down so it's disappointing. I understand places get busy and lack of time doesn't allow for cleaning up but when we walk in and no one else is around or it's quiet there is no excuse not to have the place cleaned up. Overall though, we continue returning here because the food is great and the staff are friendly. They also offer 10% discount to those on a pension so keep that in mind when you're in the area as well.

The restaurant is conveniently located in the Broadmeadows Square shopping Centre, so parking isn't…read morea problem. The place is large and well laid out, with plain tables and wooden chairs. There is also an upstairs dining area, probably for private functions and busy nights. Menu is the usual fare for the La Porchetta franchise. We were seated quickly and were able to order one drink. After that, it was very difficult to order another. Staff were nowhere to be found, so we had to go looking for them. When it was time to take the orders, the staff had great difficulty in understanding what we wanted. Not because of language barriers, but a complete lack of knowledge of what we were asking for. I tried to order a warm chicken salad with vinaigrette dressing, but the waitress didn't know what vinaigrette was. My colleague ordered a ceaser salad, but with iceberg lettuce instead of cos lettuce. Again, no understanding by staff. Even the pizzas that were ordered confused the staff. After ordering, the wait was fairly lengthy, and wose still, no drinks could be ordered because..... you guessed it, staff went missing. When the food arrived, it was as good as any of the La Porchettas we have tried. Taking advantage of the waitress' presence, we ordered drinks again, but some orders were forgotten and again the waitresses disappeared. Empty plates sat on the table for 20-25 minutes without being cleared, so we piled them up on the table to give them a hint. We took the chance and ordered coffee, but just for a change, things were a little bit quicker. After the coffee, we waited for the bill for another 10 minutes. So, if you don't mind waiting to order drinks, to place your order, have your tables cleared and the bill presented, La Porchettas Broadmeadows is the place for you. Otherwise, don't bother. On the night (Wednesday), there were only 4 or 5 other tables busy, so it's not like they were flat out or understaffed. We'll go to Niddrie or a pub somewhere for our next function and give La Porchetta Broadmeadows a miss.
