My son got married here on August 19th, and while it WAS the hottest day of the year, they were Very good to us. We had it in the barn, and they tried to keep it air conditioned it was hard in that heat. They provided ample food and were pleasant and helpful during the ceremony and afterwords, and I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who is planning a wedding, or other entertainment, as you won't regret it! read more

The staff was nice and when asked were accommodating however I feel there are some things that shouldn't have needed to be asked. Additionally, I don't think they were timely in responding to requests or when attending to the event. For a place that regularly hosts events I would just expect more. I'd expect a better kept property, better communication, better stocking, checking to ensure the refrigerator isn't full of moldy food, etc. Again, the people are nice. I could see when we arrived they were working hard but I am disappointed in this venue and would not recommend which is why I give a 1 star review. read more

I heard great things about this place prior to me booking my sons birthday party .. But ... The cowboy cafe dirty - dead bugs everywhere The laser tag equipment wasn't ready, from my booked 1 hour they maybe got to play for ten minutes / the guns didn't work nor where new batteries provided ... It's a beautiful location and the owners seem to be very sweet and did try to make it up with getting a horse out etc. but it wasn't the birthday party I expected it to be :( read more

This is one of the most poorly organized places I've ever had the misfortune to visit. Apparently this ranch hosts weddings (see wedding horror stories below), but because the bride was jilted, the owners thought that they would make the best of the weekend and host a German schnitzel festival. I don't want to go much into detail because I just spent the entire day living through their disorganized hell, but suffice it to say that the entire event was poorly planned, poorly managed, and was overall one of the worst experiences, dining or otherwise, that I've had in years. I arrived at the ranch in the early afternoon and did not get to sit down and eat any schnitzel for four and a half hours. I didn't realize until I got towards the end of the line that the reason for this was because they were making the schnitzel ten at a time, which meant that they were frequently running out of meat and causing the line to stop moving. As I told a friend, it was as if a person decided off-the-cuff that they wanted to host a barbecue and then invited thousands of people. I could go on an on about how awful this place and this event were, but I'd rather just move on with my life and attempt to forget that any of it ever happened. Save yourself some trouble and some sanity and stay far away from Lazy T Ranch. read more

When planning our wedding, I read reviews on the Lazy T Ranch and disregarded them. I was optimistic about having my wedding there because it is a beautiful setting. I know now why the reviews were the way they were. We scheduled the rehearsal for Friday, the day before the wedding. When we tried to go up to where our ceremony was to be held, there was another wedding party on the hill we had booked. We found out then, that Lazy T had double booked the location (we confirmed that we were the first to book). At this time, the owner of the venue tried to get us to move our ceremony either to a different location or different time. Again, we were the first to book our ceremony yet they insisted we move our ceremony because they did not want to "deal" with the other wedding party. We waited around for over an hour for the other party to finish with their rehearsal so we could practice for our wedding. We were never able to practice at our "reserved" venue, as the other party took too long. We ended up rehearsing in a parking lot. When our rehearsal was over we went to the reception location to have our rehearsal dinner, we found out that our food wasn't ready yet, this was at least 1.5 hours behind what was planned. We waited around a bit for the food and finally had to go up and confirm they were preparing our food. When they did bring the food down (Hamburgers, Grilled Pork Chops, Cheesy Potatoes, Fruit Salad and Green Salad) the hamburgers were undercooked and the rolls were stale. When we left for the evening, I expected the Lazy T to take care of the situation. I was unable to sleep that night as I had no idea what to do in this circumstance. On Saturday morning, with no other communication from the owner, we made the executive decision to inform every person invited to our wedding to come later than the planned time because the venue was double booked. All of this said, the weather was gorgeous on Saturday, the ceremony was beautiful and the food for the reception (pulled pork and brisket) was SO much better than the cold food we were served on Friday. Everything worked out in the end only because we, and our friends and family, were flexible and made the best of an awful situation. I am not sure if I would recommend the Lazy T to people or not. With the added stress the day before my wedding, the extra trouble we had to go through as they pushed their customer service issues on us, it may not exactly be worth the uncertainty when booking an event there. read more

excellent family place! food is great and the ranch is absolutely beautiful! tons of activities including petting zoo with horses llamas goats bunnys chickens, and sheep. they also have an awesome little gift shop with fresh homey from the ranch and a build a bear workshop with all different farm animals. such a wonderful place. I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Lazy T Ranch in April of 2014. If given the choice, I would have my wedding there again. The meadow where we had our ceremony is absolutely stunning and the barn for the reception was extremely convenient, if nothing else. I worked with Chris Wilson throughout the planning process, and although she is a very busy person, she was fantastic about always answering her phone any time I called. The price is very reasonable and both Ron and Chris are good about accommodating requests. And you can bring in your own vendors - a huge plus. That being said, if you are thinking about using Lazy T Ranch as your wedding venue, there are some things you should know so you can be more prepared than I was. First, the B&B (a cute old farmhouse located on the ranch) is convenient and my bridesmaids got ready there the morning of the wedding and they planned to stay there overnight. However, the kitchen was a mess, there were wasps inside the house, and there was cat hair on the beds, floor, and furniture. The cat hair was only an issue because one of my bridesmaids is terribly allergic to cats, and her throat swelled to the point that she couldn't breathe. All of my bridesmaids chose to book hotel rooms instead, which was an unexpected expense. Second, we had to provide our own ice (and coolers to keep it in) after being told (in print) that ice would be provided. We found out the day before the wedding that Ron and Chris would not be providing the ice, so this gave us time to run and get some the morning of the wedding to fill the ice chest. However, after arriving with the ice, the "ice chest" was actually just an insulated box with no lid. So all 500 lbs of ice we purchased melted long before the wedding. My dad was left scrambling to purchase more ice and coolers to keep it in right before the wedding started. Third, if you are planning on having a dance you (or your DJ if you hire one) will want to bring in your own speakers. I made my own playlists to save some money and the single speaker they have is not nearly loud enough when the barn is full of people (we had 250 guests). When our dinner started, we realized we couldn't hear any music or announcements. My husband sent his friends to get 2 large speakers from their old fraternity, so luckily we still had a dance, but it wouldn't have happened without them. Also, if you are not hiring a DJ, make sure you have two devices to play your music on. The wiring in the barn was not done properly, so it cannot handle having a computer or ipod charging and hooked up to the sound system at the same time. It causes loud reverb noise. We solved this problem by charging one device while the other was playing music and then switching them out when the battery ran low. If you ARE hiring a DJ, I would be sure they make a trip to the ranch well in advance of the wedding to test everything (the wiring, etc.) with their equipment to make sure it works. And last, make sure you have PLENTY of extra help from friends/family members on the morning (or day before) your wedding to help set everything up. We had 20 relatives at the ranch that morning cleaning tables, mopping the floor, setting up tables and chairs, etc. (all things that we were told would be taken care of). We never would have been ready in time without them. Thanks to all of the amazing help we had, my wedding day was everything I had ever hoped for. Our guests raved about how much fun they had and how beautiful the meadow was. As long as you are prepared, Lazy T Ranch can be a fantastic and affordable wedding venue. read more

I was a guest at my cousins wedding at the Lazy T Ranch. I was shocked at the poor management of this place. The owners double booked the ceremony site creating an awkward situation for the two families involved. There was some sort of miscommunication between the owner and the other family which lead to the other family thinking that they would be married at the same time in the same spot as my cousin. Rather than try and smooth over the mix up by asking the other family to move to the site that was actually reserved for them (which was actually quite beautiful) she just told my family that she would not ask the other family to move because the situation was "volatile". With all due respect, it is your job in a customer service profession to deal with "volatile" customers and NOT at the expense of others. Due to this mistake, the rehearsal dinner ended up being three hours late. When we finally did eat, the food was cold, stale and some of it even undercooked. We ended up shivering in the freezing barn at like 8 at night while eating because, you know, it's October. The ceremony, though beautiful due to the amazing view, ended up being a few hours later than originally planned which is a huge inconvenience when the time of a wedding is changed the day before and there are guests that are driving hours to attend and people flying in from out of town. On to the condition of the barn: The venue installed a tile dance floor and it was not level. The tiles were sticking up creating a trip hazard. The carriage in the barn was covered in dust and had an empty water bottle on it that somebody left behind. There was what appeared to be animal droppings all over the place. I get it, it's a barn. But serving food in a place where there are animal droppings? Yuck. Even if they weren't droppings I would expect that it would be cleaned up or have some hay thrown on it to be presentable. The port-a-pottie had a box of extra toilet paper in it, I assume to avoid them having to check it and refill it throughout the event. The problem is, they set it under the urinal. When I went to access the extra toilet paper the top of the box was sprinkled with URINE. Gross! I was not the paying customer in this scenario so I have no idea if discounts were offered, however, I found that the owners lacked accountability for their mix up in their handling of this situation. I also noticed that their responses to other negative reviews on Yelp have been dismissive and pushing blame on to the customer which I find really unprofessional. Don't get me wrong, this location is really beautiful which is why I gave it two stars and not one, but the management didn't seem to have the skills necessary to execute a wedding with the level of service I expect from a venue. read more
