I would not recommend this community based on my experience. My interaction with the property management team, particularly the manager, Anah, fell far below the level of professionalism and communication I would expect from a company that markets itself as an upscale lifestyle community. I applied for a townhome on May 18 and understood there was a possibility my application might not be approved. Before applying, I specifically asked about all application related fees and what would happen if my application was denied. I was informed by Jake that the $250 administrative fee would be refunded within 10 days if my application was denied. My application was denied on May 21, but I only learned this after repeatedly calling the leasing office. Unfortunately, the call center staff could not provide any information and could only forward messages to the property manager, Anah, who did not return my calls or respond to my inquiries. When I was finally able to discuss the refund, I was informed that the processing time was actually 30-60 days, which directly contradicted what I had been told before applying. It is difficult to understand why a company would retain an applicant's administrative fee for up to two months, particularly when applicants are required to pay several hundred dollars in fees before even being approved. On July 8, I emailed Anah requesting that my refund be mailed to my new address. I received no response. On July 18, I called the office and spoke with another employee while Anah was reportedly unavailable. During that conversation, I was asked to verify my forwarding address, confirming that my email had been received despite never being acknowledged. I was then told it would take an additional 30-45 days to receive my refund by mail. After expressing my concerns, I was told the check would instead be mailed to the leasing office within seven days so I could pick it up. I requested either a phone call or an email once it arrived. As of August 1, I have received neither the refund, a phone call, nor an email. Despite multiple follow-up calls throughout the week, I was repeatedly told someone would contact me, yet no one ever did. Adding to my frustration, on July 18 I received an email stating that my application submitted in May, had just been denied. This raises concerns about whether denied applications are being processed in a timely manner, which may explain the lengthy delays in issuing refunds. On July 29, I received an automated email from the company's processing service indicating that a refund check had been submitted for bill payment processing. However, this conflicted with what I had previously been told that the check would be sent to the leasing office for pickup seven days from July 18. When I contacted the office seeking clarification about where the check was actually being sent, I was once again told that no one could assist me directly and that a message would be forwarded. Once again, no one returned my call. I also attempted to contact the corporate office. Their phone line only allowed voicemail messages, and my email to corporate went unanswered as well. The most disappointing part of this experience has not been the denial of my application, but the lack of transparency, inconsistent information, and complete absence of customer service throughout the refund process. A simple phone call or email would have gone a long way toward resolving these issues. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this community to prospective residents due to the lack of communication. I can only imagine what the communication would be like if I were approved and had any issues with the townhome. read more

Recently attended a graduation party at the "Baylor Place" complex. The facilities were nice and clean, EXCEPT for the swimming pool. This pool was so murky and cloudy that I would not even let my dog in it. I have seen backyard ponds cleaner than the pool. The residents of this complex deserve better, cleaner, and more usable pool than this. YUCK !!! The party was a week after Memorial Day. So it was not even ready for the holiday. Do not rent here. Utility bills are very high, there is definitely a conflict of interest when Complex owner also owns electric company. The snowstorm that has just come through January 2026 has left us stranded for over 72 hours. Have yet to plow the streets. People keep getting stuck. I recently moved in the end of April and honestly since I've been here it's been a horrible experience I barely get to enjoy it because I'm constantly dealing with the next problem. Either them charging an astronomical amount for rent when you could find something else and get more space and maybe the management will actually value you and your time. When I moved in they gave me and my wife 2 sets of the wrong house keys and didn't even have an appointment setup for our move in day then tried to blame us, they also didn't give me my mailbox key or tell me even where it was located, I've had many things either not work at all since move in or starting to not work. You can put in the request as far ahead of time as you want they procrastinate to their maximum potential and if you don't stay on them they will just sweep it up under the rug or take forever. They didn't honor their before may move in special and actually charged me way more than they should have when I moved in. I haven't had Air conditioning for the whole month of June they took a week to respond then gave me this small window unit that I have to run on max continuously and told me they are tending to other people even though I put my ticket in weeks ago. The maintenance people act like you are bothering them when you remind them of a problem they never fixed and I feel like you could absolutely get a way better value for your money than wasting it here and dealing with unnecessary stress. read more

Do Not Move Here - Hidden Fees, Unsafe Conditions, and Unresponsive Corporate LC New Albany (Owned by LC Communities) I lived at LC New Albany and endured one of the most emotionally and physically exhausting rental experiences of my life. I eventually had to break my lease due to the stress it caused -- and even that process was met with retaliation, delays, and silence from both the on-site leasing staff and LC Communities, the corporate owner. I've already filed formal complaints with HUD and the Better Business Bureau, and every detail has been documented. What You Need to Know Before Renting: * Your rent is tied to your utility bill. They use NEP, a third-party utility provider. If your electric bill is late, your rent is considered late too. In my townhome, utilities were often $200-$500/month, depending on the season. * Garage access is not guaranteed, even if you're paying for it. My attached garage remained broken for the final two weeks of my lease. Despite multiple emergency maintenance requests, they ignored me completely and forced me to move all my belongings through the front door -- causing extreme inconvenience during an already stressful move. * Expect surprise and hidden fees. Charges changed mid-lease. "Community fees" shift regularly and cover amenities you may never use. Fees are not consistently applied, and there's no transparency around what you're being billed for or why. * Units are outdated and overpriced. The finishes and appliances do not match the rental price. Maintenance is slow to respond (if at all), and you're expected to tolerate unresolved issues. * Garage enforcement is nonexistent. People frequently blocked my garage, and I was told I could place tags on unauthorized vehicles myself -- which I refused. Still, no follow-up was done, and nothing changed. * Lease renewals are inconsistent and unfair. Different tenants receive different renewal offers, with no clear criteria. It's unpredictable and unprofessional. * Break-ins happen despite the New Albany location. Don't be fooled by the zip code. Car break-ins are a regular occurrence -- check the crime logs yourself if you don't believe it. * Corporate (LC Communities) does not care. LC Communities owns the property, and they are nearly impossible to reach. If you do get in touch, don't expect a response. The local leasing team takes direction from them but has little authority to actually resolve issues. If you've made it this far, believe me when I say: this is the last place you want to live. It looks appealing on the outside and the leasing staff will say anything to get you in -- but once you're a resident, the mask comes off. Just read the other reviews. We aren't exaggerating -- we're former residents speaking from lived experience. LC Communities as a whole has lost my trust. I would never refer anyone to this property or any of their communities. Do not recommend. The hassle of dealing with this management is absolutely not worth the price. I've calculated how much I would have been overcharged or mischarged if I had paid every time they messed up--over $800 last year alone. They've mismanaged rent checks, charged me for not having renters insurance after I provided proof, and slapped on inaccurate fees at move-in. The management is disorganized, unkind, and uncooperative--if you don't keep every conversation strictly to email, they won't honor their promises, and if you don't keep every receipt, good luck getting anything fixed. This complex could be a nice place with great access to local activities (the goat and the gym), but once you factor in the overpriced rent, constant incorrect fees, and astronomical utility charges from Nationwide Energy Partners, it just doesn't feel worth it. In the winter, utility prices skyrocket to the point that a company rep had to visit the complex in 2024 to address the insane pricing. We also pay $25 for trash services, yet bags are left all over the property daily. To top it off, amenities like the pool and gym close without notice, and the rent for a one-bedroom here is on par with or even higher than two-bedroom apartments in places like New Albany and downtown. Also, don't forget you have to give a 60-day notice to move out, even if your lease is ending, or they'll charge you hundreds more month-to-month. But the kicker? They don't send you your renewal contract until the last minute, just a week or so before the 60-day notice is due. It's simply not worth the stress or the money. Looks great from the outside - Worst living experience I've ever had. Spent over a month waiting on maintenance to come for a broken dishwasher, washer/dryer, and smoke alarms. Another resident's dog attacked my dog and staff/management didn't do a single thing other than send a general text reminder to "leash your dogs". NEP is a made up submetering company that charges $300-500 per month on utilities (non-negotiable utility, no ability to change providers). I've lived here for 1.5 years. First year no issues at all, I'd say very good experience overall. In the past 6 months they have tried to put in two random fees in the middle of the lease with a pest control fee and a fee if you have a grill/outdoor fireplace on your patio. Those items are not listed in the lease and just sent one email notifying us of these. No other form of communication when I talked to management about getting the fee dropped because I moved my grill to the " appropriate" location even thought I don't have too because it's not in my lease. There was a shooting here two weekends ago on my street and no form of communication but they can email us overnight about a new grill rule that was implemented without me consenting too and forcing me to pay this fine now is ridiculous. Along with that gym amenities are broke and take forever to get fixed now as well. I would not recommend moving in unless you want random fees added to your account with no notice! read more

This is the 2nd week into our lease as new tenants at LC New Albany, and it has been a day 1 nightmare. On move in day our AC unit was broken, and this is a problem that should have been identified and fixed prior to having your new tenants move in. We have been without AC for 2 weeks, and LC has still not given us a timetable of when the AC unit will be replaced. Our apartment has fluctuated around 80 degrees with both my wife and I working from home full time plus with a long haired cat. We are miserable from the heat. When we moved in there was a pile if bird poop collecting from a nest outside of our apartment door, and we both spoke with the LC office and placed a ticket to maintenance. It has not been addressed or cleaned up. I have to step over bird poop to get to my apartment door. Wanting a sanitary place to live that has working air conditioning (especially when your rent is almost $1,500/mo) is a fair thing to ask for day one when you move in. However, with LC New Albany you will not find that and from your move in day will be a constant headache for you. I would not recommend LC New Albany for its poor customer service and lack of caring about its tenants. read more

The electricity bill is basically price gouging thanks to their contract with NEP- we paid between 250-500 per month for a townhouse. Maintenance marks tasks as completed without even doing anything. The property managers are the most useless people I've ever met, they are unable to do anything including communicating issues with maintenance. Just go anywhere else and avoid this place. If you want working air...not the place for you. My daughter lives there and her air has been broken since early April. They keep telling her different stories and they keep closing her maintenance requests. Unfortunately they are forcing her to have to escrow next month's rent until it is fixed. (This requires a trip to municipal court) I told her if it was me I'd hang a sign out my window (since she lives across from the leasing office) saying "Don't move here" Apparently this is a big problem at this complex. read more

Update: After my initial review they reached out claiming to have our best interest in mind and want to butter us up by finally fixing the issues. Well we got a replacement range but this replacement was quite a step down from a flat top to a coil top of which I'm sure they will try to charge us for new drip pans once we move out. They never fixed the cabinet issue. This complex is only out to take your money and to tack on as many fees as they can. I am so utterly disappointed by the choice we made to move here in the first place. I stick to my rating and wish I could give zero stars. This complex and the office staff don't seem to care about their tenants and the people they are "serving" only about the payments they require. I went back there today again, because no one was picking! I asked if they were able to do it and they stated that they weren't able to put the sign and I asked why it was taking them long to do so, and asked if they wanted me to put a sign! and one of the staff said i shouldn't tell them how to do there job and I was being disrespectful about it and she told me that she lives here and I shouldn't come to the office to speak to her... literally asked a question of when they were planning on putting the sign up and she raised her voice and tried manipulating the situation like I raised my voice! recorded everything that was said! read more

Despite great maintenance staff and beautiful facilities, I cannot recommend the LC less. The leasing office staff is a nightmare to work with. Mail is misplaced often. One time they told me to "just call the people who sent it and get a new one" - it was my custom wedding ring. Jeff Bezos cannot replace. They misquoted us our last month prorate and all they could offer us was an "I'm sorry". Unfortunately this isn't enough as Covid-19 and moving means budgeting every last penny. We dont have the wiggle room for being under quoted and "sorry for the typo" which obviously wasn't a typo doesn't help. You may live in a beautiful townhome but be prepared for a headache whenever you need help from the office. Amenities are expensive. The townhome next to us was broken into, and many others have been broken into as well. Not worth the money. read more

I lived here for 18 months and regretted my decision to move here a month into my lease. The community amenities are nice and honestly the only "luxury" part of this community... although I didn't use any of them when I lived here (but still had to pay for part of all the common area utilities every month)! It is nice that the neighborhoods are pet friendly, however you can't walk more than a few steps down the sidewalk without walking past dog poop in the grass or even smeared on the sidewalk. The sight of all of the dog poop and trash cans that were left in front of the apartment doors 24/7 were definitely a huge eyesore and not by any means the sight of a "luxury" community that I was paying nearly $1300 a month in rent for. My biggest issue was never resolved and continued for the last 12 months of my lease; the stacked washer/dryer that comes with the apartment was taking 3+ cycles to dry 1/2 a load of laundry. I had to submit repeated maintenance requests online for that issue because maintenance never was able to solve the problem, even though they would mark the issue fixed every time they left without following up or checking to see if they did anything to improve the issue. For every maintenance request for this issue I would type clearly in the form comments that they DO NOT have permission to enter my apartment UNLESS I am home and would switch the permission box to enter "NO"; the reason being was so that I could actually speak to someone from the maintenance team to figure out what they had tried to do so far at the past 4-5+ visits and why the problem still wasn't fixed - because you are told from the leasing staff/property managers that there is no direct way to speak to anyone from maintenance unless you are there when they arrive at your unit (unless you want to leave messages for the leasing office to relay to the maintenance staff and then you'll never hear anything back). After maintenance REPEATEDLY entered my apartment when I wasn't home on different days/times than I requested in multiple different areas on the maintenance form with no notice or heads up of their arrival decided that it would be easier to waste my time drying my laundry 3+ times each load for the remainder of my lease than to continue to deal with maintenance tag and communicating with the leasing office/property managers who had not been able to provide me useful information throughout any of the process. The only friendly leasing agent I spoke to was the woman who gave me the initial tour of the property. Once I moved in and would have to call the leasing office about different issues regarding maintenance or other resident system issues, they always sounded absolutely miserable and bothered that you were even calling (that is if they even answered the phone). I gave my notice to move out months ahead of when I needed to because there was absolutely no way that I would have resigned a lease with LC New Albany. Please take into consideration all of the negative reviews on here and the other sites and do yourself a huge favor by not moving here. They will make your general experience living there as inconvenient as possible while squeezing as much money from you as they can because they call themselves luxury. Do not be fooled. read more

My experience was first class all the way. I was at the right place at the right time and landed the premier apartment building. Office and maintenance staff very responsive. The area of town is very close to freeway access and New Albany is a more upscale area. Downtown Columbus is just 12 minutes and almost anywhere like Dublin or Westerville are very close. Everything about the LC communities, this one in particular, is a scam. They will steal your money and break your heart. My husband and I made so many memories while living here, we got married, we brought our puppy home, we started our family, and now that we have moved out and are being scammed out of over $700, those memories are in jeopardy of being ruined. If you have a pet, do not under any circumstances tell them. They will find a way to make you pay for carpet replacement, even when they cannot prove that it was from your pet. Our puppy was never allowed on the carpeted surfaces unattended or for more than just a few minutes when with us. They have pictures that they say prove there were pet stains in our unit, however the only picture that could be from our unit shows a completely different floorplan than the unit we lived in. Even the staff claims they cannot recreate that picture, yet they stand by their lie that the stains are from us. We also have pictures from before the carpet replacement and after that show completely different markings on the walls. There is no physical way possible that the pictures they claim as "proof" are from our unit. I have read several other recent reviews that say the same thing, so this is obviously a scam they are running right now. If the carpet is cheap and needs to be changed, they need to stop blaming their tenants and own up to the fact that they used cheap carpet. There is no way that this same thing is happening to multiple people all at the same time without it being a scam. We also should have heeded the warnings about the electric bills. We never paid less than $200 and our highest was almost $500. They will tell you that with a larger square footage the bills will be higher. They will tell you that if you are on an end unit the bills will be higher. All lies. We just moved into a larger house than our unit was, and our last bill was less than $100 from AEP. Please heed this warning, these units may look nice, but it is not worth it and like us, you will regret making the decision to move here. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I lived here for a duration of about two and a half years, nothing but a nightmare. Going to start with my apartment never been kept up with for basic maintenance, complained multiple times over a year span about black dust coming out of my air vents and needing a filter change. Got to a point where I was having massive headaches from it and my dog started to break out in a skin rash and even after explaining that situation there still was nothing done, sent maintenance men out and nothing was resolved. When we did a final walk through of my apartment before moving out, the lady who inspected it was appalled. Into my second year around halloween time I put a wreath on my door (which i had put up the previous year) that was a ghost and said "happy hauntings", I received an email saying i got a complaint on it and if I didn't take it down i would be fined, what kind of bullshit is that? Had complained about dogs being off leash CONSTANTLY, called at least 4 times on the issue after seeing two brutal dog attacks in front of my apartment. You pay a monthly fee for trash, in which mine was always getting skipped, and then raccoons get into it and drag it all over the yard. In which i also called about multiple times & asked that I get a refund considering i was paying for a service that wasn't getting done and was told it's not possible. When it came to resign my lease, the options they gave me were absolutely insane. The up charge in price had no reasoning, no explanation, and gave me less than a month of notice to make a decision and no matter how short or long of time I decided to re sign for my rent would go up significantly. When living there, constantly had packages being lost in the leasing office or stolen. During the holidays they just hoard packages on packages and have no system to it or monitor it, free for all. For the amount of money you pay to live here in these so called "luxury apartments", save yourself the worry and go elsewhere. Everybody in the leasing office is rude and extremely unhelpful, has always acted like it's a pain to even speak to you. Just as of today, I dealt with the situation of a package accidentally being sent to my old address by a family member, I called and spoke to somebody who said they would reach out to the new tenant, this was before christmas. Never heard anything back so I called back the day after christmas and spoke to someone who said they had not emailed back, i told them to call her not wait on an email as they did and called me back and said she would bring them by early this week. I informed them I would get them early next week as I am out of state, was told no problem they would hold them for me. Just got a call on my vacation that they returned my packages to sender as it's not their problem because i've been moved out since May. When actually I had been mover out since late June & when moving out of an address, everybody knows this shit happens with mail. !!!RACIST COMPLEX THAT ALMOST KILLED MY PETS!!!!! It would be negative stars if possible the six months I spent living at this complex was an absolute nightmare! Once I signed the lease it was all downhill, Molly and Sophia are by far the two most vile evil undercover racist leasing managers you will ever have the displeasure of dealing with. After living there for a month and a half I was starting to feel very lethargic and having respiratory issues and for some reason my water bill was 300 bucks, then thankfully a neighbor knocked on my door and informed me she was the prior resident of my unit, she told me she moved out and almost sued the complex because of the extreme black mold in the unit that was caused from a LEAK that they refused to correctly fix, she told me where I need to look for it, I went to the areas and BOOM there it was under the linoleum, and behind the water heater mold everywhere that they either hid with flooring or painted over, the office told me before I signed my lease that the unit had been empty for six months so they could remodel it, I found out that it had been empty for over a year and that it hadn't been remodeled at all, the only thing new In that apartment was the floor and paint that was used to hide the mold. Molly insisted that the mold was just "dust" I requested a different unit and she accused me of trying to get a free upgrade, we argued and the only apartment she would move me too was filthy as it had just been vacated and she was going to charge me an additional 2000.00 and make me sign a new lease! Having missed work due to illness from mold exposure I didn't have the money to do that!!! So I opted to stay and suck it up until i could find a different apartment, that was a horrific mistake I ended up having to move my beloved cat and dog two hours away too my families home because the mold almost killed them. Now we get to the racist maintenance man, One morning about a week after I find the mold I drove to dump my trash and get my mail I'm walking back to my car with my mail in my hand and a maintenance man is parked behind my car with a golf cart blocking me in!! I asked him to move because I have to get to work, he demanded to know my address and told me I was trespassing!!! He didn't ask the two Caucasians that were there for any address or identification just me! (I'm multi racial) he hounded me until he realized I pulled out my phone and started recording!! I called the office I showed them the video of him hounding me and told them what happened and Molly's only solution "well I will move him to a different section of the community so you two don't have anymore spats!" For the next few months I kept complaining about the mold, And that I had maintenance men come in my apartment without permission, Molly then in retaliation for me complaining online and to corporate refused to accept my rent check and filed an eviction because it was "late"(it's not late until the 5th I paid her on the 3rd) but trust me I was more than happy to just leave!!! LC New Albany is nice on the outside but they are horrible on the back end. The staff is lazy and the maintenance never comes even after you put in several requests. You have the option to buy out of your lease but their "fee" is two months rent but that is just their way of having a new tenant in your unit paying rent plus get two months rent from you. There is dog crap everywhere, there is trash everywhere. Please don't be fooled by the amenities and the goat and all of the pretty stuff at the entrance. The pools are crowded, the staff will lie to you and then say "we didn't say that". The rent is to expensive for the treatment that the staff offers and the lack of care. The phrase you will hear over and over is "we will take care of it" but they never do. When you are sick of being lied to, the "buy out" process is that you have to give a 60 days notice and then at the end pay another 2 months. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! read more

I moved into this complex with my brother last year and have had nothing but problems since moving in. To start the experience, we were unintentionally bait-and-switched by the staff on our move-in date. We agreed to a 2 bedroom/2 bath, showed up to our apartment, only to discover that there was one bathroom inside. Apparently, the room was listed incorrectly online. Pretty serious mistake. We immediately contacted the office and demanded a 2 bed/2 bath which we agreed to in our lease agreement. Of course, the complex had no identical units available and had sold them all off to other tenants, so the staff offered to lower the price on a significantly more expensive room. My brother and I did not want to be homeless, so now we are paying $150 more per month than we anticipated. After the move-in debacle, we discovered the apartment was in an extremely unsatisfactory condition. The deck was damaged, the garage was broken, the fridge light was missing, and the overall quality of the apartment seemed lesser than the unit we should have been in. My towel rack fell off of the wall and was being held there by tape. SCOTCH TAPE. Keep in mind, this apartment was supposed to be better than the one we originally signed on. If that isn't enough, there have been frequent electricity blackouts all year. I am currently typing this review in 8 degree weather, with no hot water, heat, or electricity. Thanks, LC. My wife and I lived at LC New Albany from Mar 2016 - Apr 2019. Pros: -The staff at LC were friendly and quick to respond to maintenance issues. -Units included washer/dryer. -The community amenities are very nice (gym, pool, The Goat, etc). Cons: -There are piles of dog waste all around the property. There are plenty of waste disposal bins and free bags around the community, but some residents chose not to use them for some reason. -We often found that there weren't enough parking spots, forcing us to park behind our unit. We didn't have a key to our back door, which would have alleviated the issue altogether. -The biggest issue was being charged $445.07 to replace the carpet, carpet pad, and drip pans for the stove in the unit when we moved out. After the LC claimed our $50 security deposit, we were left with a $395.07 balance. We were told the carpet had holes beyond normal wear and tear, and that there were pet urine stains "throughout" the unit. We didn't wear shoes in the house and never experienced instances in which we felt the carpet was wet or damp from a pet accident. Our dog was 4.5 years old when we moved in and 7.5 when we moved out. She has been house broken since before I adopted her in 2013. Any time we were away from the apartment the dog was kept in one bedroom until we got home. The carpet was an inexpensive option and it did not have the durability to withstand multiple years of use. The LC told me the cost to replace the carpet was $918.32, plus $99 for new carpet pads. Estimating that in our 1000 sq ft apartment, there were 750 square feet of carpet to be replaced, that would bring the cost per square foot to around $1.22/sq feet which is inexpensive when it comes to carpet. We didn't wear shoes in the house. I honestly don't know what we could have done differently to prevent the wear and tear on the carpet because all we did was walk on it with our bare, or socked feet. The LC stated that the carpet has a 5-year warranty, so they prorated the amount that the carpet was purchased for and charged us for the 19 months of use they didn't get out of it. The LC has an image of being a more upscale apartment complex so I would expect after the same tenants lived in a unit for a little over three years with a dog, the LC would replace carpets as a way to keep up their reputation anyway. In our time at the LC we noticed that some units near us had been upgraded to hardwood (or hardwood-equivalent) flooring. We were under the assumption our unit would also receive a face lift when we moved out, thus negating a carpet replacement fee to ever come into question. We generally had a good experience at the LC and would've recommended it to others looking to find an apartment in a good community, but this last experience put a bad taste in our mouths and we would like to leave potential future residents with these bits of advice: -Don't walk in the grass without carefully watching your step, because there is likely dog waste under your next step. -Be hesitant about leasing in this community if you have a dog. Our experience leads me to believe that the one-time $250 pet fee, plus $35/month pet rent is just a way for the LC to take in extra fees without taking that sum of money into consideration when charging residents move-out fees. We lived in the LC for 37 months, which means we paid a total of $1,545 (including the one-time fee) to allow us to have our dog in the apartment, but at the end of the day that money went nowhere and we were still stuck with a ~$400 bill to replace the carpet because of something our dog "did". The lease agreement does clearly state that the pet rent and the one-time fee does not go toward damages, cleaning, etc but if that isn't the case, then why charge a pet fee at all? -When you move out, if you had an issue keeping your drip pans on the stove clean, purchase new ones and replace them yourself. You can buy some on Amazon for $10.98, this will avoid the $20 fee the LC charges for them. read more

I am writing you to inform you of the horrible experience I encountered at LC New Albany. I walked in at 5:20 PM on a Wednesday. There were 4 staff sitting at the desk. I was greeted by one staff and the others seemed to be working. I asked for a tour of the 2 bedrooms. The greeter asked if someone could give a tour and the one staff member stated she had a tour at 5:30 and would be unavailable. the remaining three staff members looked dumbfounded as what to do. The greeter then asked the female to her right if she was off at 6 pm and she replied yes. The male staff member to her left said nothing. They asked if I could come back another day. I asked why between the four of them why could not at least one give me a tour. The greeter then turned to the female staff member to her right - stating I know you leave at 6 by could you give her a tour. She rolled her eyes , then put her head down and her palm over her face and did not reply. I then stated - never mind, if you cant be bothered, then I am leaving. This was the first impression I had of this location and staff. It will be my last. If this is how the staff treats an unknown guest/ possible resident, then I can not even begin to imagine how they treat actual residents. Only gave this company a 1 star because it wouldn't let me review without. This is by far the worst company we have leased from. The company is very rude and unprofessional. They change property managers like the weather change constantly. We use to live at the LC Brooklands which at the beginning we should have known something was wrong when they lied to us about having our carpet clean due to the painters leaving mud marks in the den. Still giving them a chance we moved to the LC New Albany Exchange which was a terrible decision. From the beginning, we have had nothing but problems. We did a tour of the complex and at the time they were still in the process of building so our leasing consultant said we had a lot of options available and we could hand pick our unit. We wanted a particular end unit which she said was available and we put our name in to hold that unit. A couple weeks before our move I received an email from the leasing consultant that our unit was gone and there were no more end units available. They didn't see anything wrong with it at all like o well sorry about your luck. I email the leasing consultant and never got a response and we didn't hear from anyone until my husband went into the office and she apologized and gave us another unit at a lower price. I still was hesitant to move because I had a feeling it was going to be continuous problems. Before our move, the property manager left and the complex was without a manager for months. Then there came Molly the new apartment manager. Until now we have never had any problems paying our rent online through the resident portal. Every month from October we have been paying online. On December 30th, 2017, the property manager called my husband in a rude manner asked why he was only paying a certain amount.online He explained to her that the amount we were paying was the amount in our portal. She states that the portal was incorrect and the amount that was unpaid needs to be paid the 1st of the year. My husband was uneasy with her approach and requested a meeting with her which was scheduled the same day. During the meeting, we expressed our concern regarding her approach and how we couldn't see how this was our fault and why did the company wait almost four months to contact us regarding the incorrect amount. After going back and forth I asked for her manager contact information which she was hesitant to give stating she didn't have her phone number and our account was not up for debate. She also stated some derogatory comments to the point it was leading to discrimination. I reached out to her manager Marci which by no surprise it took two emails in order to hear back from her. During our conversation over the phone, she said she was trying to figure out why the computer system was charging us the wrong amount it was a glitch in their system and she was trying to figure it out. Still we got nowhere, in fact, she sent me a ledger stating that they didn't charge us late fees in October and they were just now adding it to our account along with the charges that were incorrect. I emailed a couple other people over the weekend its still early but I am not holding my breath most likely I won't hear from them to fix the problem either. My advice is to look elsewhere and don't lease from this company. read more

I have been living at the LC New Albany since September 2018. Property looks nice however it is very cheaply made. The countertops don't even connect to the wall. I have made several maintenance requests since moving in September and maintenance takes WEEKS to come. I have had to call 3x and when they finally show up they don't fix anything. They say they need to send a contractor or electrician for everything. Management states they only have 2 maintenance employees for 1200 properties. TERRIBLE!!! I have recommended people to move here only to tell them don't bother. I am currently taking the steps to file a formal complaint. If you like to waste 1400 a month on a nice looking property with poor management and maintenance this is the place for you!!! read more

Place is a joke. Got a violation tag on my car for not parking in the right area. Funny that the parking lot behind my townhouse is NEVER full. You pay $1600 a month for the inconvenience of waking someone else to move their vehicle because you can only park your 2nd vehicle behind your garage? Btw the washer and dryer in the units are grade A garbage. My washer doesn't even fill up 25% of the barrel! I have to be careful what I wash in it because it is literally RUINING my clothes. Again you would think paying $1600 a month you would get a full sized stacked washer dryer but nope not in these. The craftsmanship in these apartments are appalling. Unfinished molding and cheap fake wood stick floors and cabinet doors that fall apart. THESE ARE BRAND NEW APARTMENTS. Also, if you're in a new 3 story townhouse in LC Exchange good luck using your den on the first floor in the winter because that room is COLDER than it is outside! these apartments are very poorly insulated and your electric bill will show you that in the winter. Also, residents let their dogs defecate everywhere with no consequences! I bet this place smells LOVELY in the summer heat. *puke* And the noise from dogs barking everywhere all the time goes right through your walls and windows let alone the traffic going by which is constant. I thought New Albany would be a quiet place to live with upscale amenities and AMPLE ROOM to park but nope not here! Look elsewhere! read more

We moved here 3 months ago and have had nothing but problems. I don't wish this mess on anyone. They started by lying about how much our deposit would be by over $1,000 next they lied about how much our rent would be. They also promised us internet would be available and it was not until almost a month into living there. Being a student and working from home this was a major issue. We have yet to receive an electric bill until this week. When we called the leasing office to ask about it they kept saying it will be here soon don't worry. I finally call the electric company and come to find out that they never sent over our information and now we owe back payments and a large deposit that was never discussed. Ofcourse the leasing office blames us for the mishap. If moving out was an option I would. Please no one move here. The entire place is ran by multiple blonde women who can't count past 10 unless they are wearing sandals. read more

It all starts with corporate management and is relayed to the leasing office . the utilities are owned by the owner of Lifestyle communities and you can expect to pay around $ 400.00 more a month that you was not expecting . Not to mention what you get for quality in the construction . They charge for luxury apartments but the quality of workmanship and products used to build these apartments is very POOR ! If I had to tell someone about my experience with the LC, I would be honest with them and tell them that it was the WORST DECISION I COULD HAVE EVER MADE and that I would have rather been homeless. Moving in seemed like a dream but the longer I've lived here, the more apparent it becomes that that "dream" is actually a NIGHTMARE that takes place while I'm awake. For starters, my neighbors are trash. The people that live in this community have NO sense of what it means to be a kind, good human. I have hated dealing with the tenants of this community almost as much as I have hated living in the community itself. My rent for a 2bed/2.5bath is $1,245/month PLUS $12 for renters insurance (that I was MYSTERIOUSLY disenrolled from and the leasing office has done nothing but email me about the missing insurance.) I'm not quite sure why rent is that high when EVERYTHING in this apartment is either breaking, never worked in the first place, or can't perform its primary function. For example: the closet door upstairs where towels are stored; the knob on the inside was not properly assembled thus falls off every time the door is opened. The latch in the door frame for the door to shut completely to the master bedroom was not lined up to the door properly, therefore does not shut all the way and can be opened by just a small push. There are multiple light switches in the unit that control NOTHING. The washer and dryer have REPEATEDLY broken, just from doing normal, light loads of laundry. Every day use and the washer and dryer can't handle it. There is a trash service in which we're asked to leave our trash outside so it can be picked up. Sometimes it's taken, other times our trash sits outside until the next time we're scheduled for pick-up. There is also a raccoon issue because our bags have been torn into repeatedly and we're told that we're going to be fined if we don't do something about it. These apartments were poorly insulated, resulting in ASTRONOMICAL electric bills during the winter months, which wasn't fixed until AFTER I had to call maintenance to come fix the seals on the windows and doors of the unit. I have friends in this complex with the same exact layout whose bills weren't affected, which leads me to believe the meters are being read incorrectly. The glass doors to the shower in the master bedroom don't stay shut. The water barely heats up in all of the sinks in the unit, and if it does it takes about 5 minutes of the water running for it to be even remotely lukewarm. The blinds on the windows and back doors don't last very long, I've had multiple blades come off the blinds just from opening and closing the back door. The wood is chipped by the front door and we don't own animals. The fan in the master bedroom doesn't work properly; it spun much faster than it does now when we first moved in. Parking is a MAJOR ISSUE in this community. In fact, it actually ANGERS ME. There are units that are THREE floors, the bottom floor being a garage. Behind the garage is, YES YOU GUESSED IT, a DRIVEWAY that the LC doesn't find necessary to tell their tenants to use -- this results in people like me who don't have a garage to find parking IN ANOTHER BLOCK because additional parking is being used. After complaining about the parking situation on SIX OCCASIONS, I was FINALLY told that the community was "working on implementing parking arrangements" to take care of this issue. About 6 months went by before I got an email explaining these "arrangements": EACH UNIT IN THE LC NEW ALBANY IS ALLOTTED 2 LC RESIDENT PARKING PASSES THAT ARE TO BE USED IN THE PARKING LOTS LOCATED BEHIND THE UNITS. EACH UNIT WILL ALSO OBTAIN ONE (1) GUEST PARKING PASS WHERE THEY ARE TO BE USED ALONG THE CURB IN FRONT OF THE UNITS. So if you have a roommate and both of you want your boyfriend/girlfriend over at the same time, someone better leave or carpool because unfortunately, you only get that ONE guest pass. If that isn't the most BULLSHIT "parking arrangements" I've ever heard of, I'm not sure what is. They didn't even take into account the MAIN PROBLEM WHICH IS PEOPLE NOT USING THEIR GARAGES AND DRIVEWAYS. The only good thing that comes from this is the fact that we are allowed to have someones car towed if they are parked illegally. I have never lived in a community where I was told I have a voice just for it to be constantly ignored, TIME AND TIME AGAIN. If I could go back in time and tell myself everything that I know now, I can GUARANTEE I NEVER would have signed for this apartment. I will NEVER recommend my friends or family to live in this complex, not even somewhere other than New Albany because I have friends in other communities who complain just as bad about it. I can't believe I signed a 15-month lease here, but hindsight is ALWAYS 20-20. read more

Great area-close enough to downtown and Easton. The office and maintenance staff is very responsive

So far it has been okay. We moved into the Villages a few months ago and everything for the most part has been wonderful until the snow hit. I haven't witnessed any salt trucks or maintance putting salt out which causes walking your dog to be extremley dangerous. My dog as well as myself have already fallen bc the sidewalks are covered in ice and it is only our first real week of winter. I finally saw a plow but still no salt. Driving thru the complex makes you super nervous bc every corner is COVERED in ice. WE NEED SALT!!! Only other complaint is that there are only a few dog waste stations and if you do not live close to one, walking in the snow makes it even worse. read more
