We found out the card was redeemed in Toronto, yet my son was in Ottawa! I called and explained what happened and the person I spoke to said that someone would get back to me. I wasn't hopeful. But then, I got an email from Frank Perry at The Beer Store in Mississauga saying they would be reimbursing us for the gift card - and giving us an extra $10 for the trouble of having to call in!! Apparently, they have had some trouble with people hacking into their gift card system, so I guess we weren't the only one they heard from. I was so happy with the good customer service. Gift cards are like cash and they might have just told us we were out of luck, but to my surprise, they believed us and we got our money back! Thanks so much, Frank!

A little hard to find, but as it is here in Ontario, in order to fulfill your beer cravings..the Beer Store is the only way to satisfy it. Roughly in the last year, the Beer Store has been going through some major renovations in their service model and their store layouts. This is one of the newer self serve layouts which you pick your product in a refrigerated walk in cooler display floor. I personally like this new layout, rather than the old "order at the counter" and your order is called to the people at the back and its delivered via metal roller track. It give the customer the ease of looking through different beer brands and discovering some new ones. Pretty convenient location as its not directly located in the busier area of Heartland. I was craving nice chilled beer and thought of ordering from here. I was browsing their website and came across Boxer gluten free lager. Whenever possible I try to skip gluten and I wanted to try this beer. I ordered 2 six packs of Boxer gluten free lager and also got 6 pack of Mill Street Organic for my wife. I was ordering around 11 am and I was able to select 2 pm pickup time on same day. I got the confirmation email in 30 mins. I went there between 2 pm and 2:30 pm. Called the store and they brought it out in 2 mins. It was very good and efficient service. For me this is a 5 Star service and process. Thanks!!

I'm referring to the shnook with the brown curly hair who is responsible for handling the recycling of your empty bottles. Yeah, he's got a serious attitude problem. I went there to return some empty bottles, and I guess they were short on change (in the till/cash register). He asks me if I have $0.20 on me (as he only had a loonie in the register) and by handing me the loonie, he would've overpaid me by $0.20. Unfortunately I didn't bring my wallet with me. He looks at me, shakes his head with a cocky disapproving look (like it's my fault they're short on change) and hands me the loonie. As I walk out, this punk sarcastically shouts out "You're welcome" followed by "This fu*king guy". Are you kidding me? It's amazing how they employ these a*sholes and they get away with this kind of behavior. I would've complained to a manager, only my wife was in the car waiting for me; not that I think complaining would've done any good. I only go to The Beer Store to return empties. Fortunately I do my shopping at The LCBO. If you're a beer drinker, you might want to try another location. With the high prices of beer, I just find the attitude unacceptable.
