This place isn't one of those touristy places where they serve you bad food. They take their food quality really seriously here. You can tell based off of what you get. The wait staff is pretty nice although service is really slow. I suppose it is not the American way where they push you out. Instead, they take your time so you can enjoy your food. For parents of little ones though, I would have appreciated some more expediency. The food was sooooo good. They serve typical Provincal food. We got their seafood platter. The freshly made garlic mayo complimented the food perfectly. I also got the shrimp and rice. This was yummy but not as good as the seafood platter. The next day we got grilled octopus with rice. The octopus was perfectly grilled. For high quality food, the price point isn't too bad. I think it is on the more affordable end.

Buried within I found this one. The place is casual and hip with lots of plants, wine, and locals about. The owner, a young woman who speaks excellent English, helped us with the locally sourced menu, which was written in French on a chalkboard (typical in these parts). She and her colleague helped us choose local organic wines to go with fresh, excellently prepared food. We avoided the meatier foods in favor of local oysters, zucchini blossoms stuffed with cheese, sautéed wild mushrooms, and small potatoes--all prepared to perfection! We had a delicious brownie made with hazelnuts and coffee cream for dessert. Wonderful. More people should know about Les Trois Coups! PS We returned the next night, our last in Marseilles. What a great start was my initial thought....unfortunately, this place did not live up the service and quality that I expected. My largest complaint about this place is the time it took for us to even place our orders. At least an hour and a half went by. This included multiple reminders by myself and another person in my group to the hostess that we were waiting. We would have probably left if we had not all been so invested in this restaurant already. Having already waited so long, we didn't believe we could get a table anywhere else at such short notice. Because the hostess was in such a rush, she actually ended up smashing the bottle a mere few feet from us (the wine cooler was stationed next to our table). Glass was everywhere, and it took time for them to sweep it up. To top it off, we ordered razor clams that never got to our table.
