I'm convinced it's one of the best choices on the menu. Later I met locals who had their birthdays there and I realized it is a very special place for locals and tourists alike. If you go ask, for the lower dining room. Forget your cellphone it won't work anyway. Enjoy the warm fondue and atmosphere for a while. Gluten free bread is also available. In a sweet area with lots of cool vintage shopping spots and a dance school! What a delicious dream.

The staff were all friendly and spoke English as well, so it was easy to order. They offer many types of cheese from regions of France, we ordered one of the cheese fondues and a salad. The fondues come with potatoes and bread. We enjoyed the salad and it provided some much needed veggies. The cheese fondue comes in a hotpot and you dip the bread and potatoes into it with a fondue fork. After trying it, I think I prefer cheese only when it's paired with meat, so I probably should've ordered the one with meat. It was also really late and I was quite tired from being out all day, so that may have also contributed to me feeling subpar about the meal. However, if you're a cheese lover, this restaurant should be right up your alley. Come here if you love cheese!

Those veggies is good for the stone grill. We also got the meat grilled on the preheat stone. The spice on it make it nice including the olive oil. The fried oil section also great. I took my teenager here for an authentic fondue experience and we left stuffed and happy. I got a basic cheese fondue and he got the Beef Bourguignon fondue in oil. Fantastic. The lightly dressed salad, baguette pieces, and charcuterie rounded it out perfectly. I personally would NOT recommend raclette here because they serve it in tiny pans in which you melt the cheese. They do not have a big raclette heater that warms the wheel of cheese so you can scrape it. This is a delightful restaurant and such a fun dining experience.

The fixed priced menu includes an appetizer, a fondue pot (either cheese or meat) and a baby bottle full of wine. The seatings are all at the same time, and the place gets packed. You actually have to jump over the table to get to your seat . the food is great and the experience is fun. Everything is in English and it is very geared towards the tourists. The staff is amazing: they are all polyglots. The hostess who welcomed us this evening spoke at least three languages (in the two minutes that I was within earshot): hashtag rockstar, hashtag goals, hashtag color me impressed. They are friendly, helpful, polite, and all about making sure you have a great evening. The menu is set: a welcome drink (they do offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options: kir) with a small charcuterie board to whet the appetite, followed by fondue of your choice: cheese with bread or a meat fondue (with four sauces). This comes with the famous biberon de vin--rouge ou blanc, comme vous voulez. After that, it is dessert: take your choice. When I was there, it was île flottante ou mousse au chocolate. J'ai pris l'île flottante et ma mère a pris le mousse au chocolate. They were both delicious. Alas, they didn't survive long enough to be photographed. RIP What really made this evening special for me was the camaraderie of the patrons: I came with my mom, but I met so many nice people. You will be sitting shoulder to shoulder with people who hailed from Italy and another traveler from the U.S. Everyone immediately became friends and shared travel recommendations. It was really quite nice. In case you are wondering, yes, they do sell the biberons, and yes, I did buy one. Absolutely worth it.

Best accidental discovery ever!…read more We were wandering the streets of Paris on our last night looking for a restaurant for one last memorable meal. On a whim we came in here because we saw that they served fondue and we thought that would be a good idea for supper. The restaurant name translates into "Fortunate like Alexander" in English. Did that ever turn out to be a fantastic decision. Read on to hear why. The restaurant's owner has to be one of the kindest, charismatic people that I have ever met. He welcomed us with open arms and we got to chat with him quite a bit and learn more about him. He also was very kind to us and gave us many free drinks just because he was a very generous person. This was completely unexpected and we were really grateful for this. In addition to a welcoming owner the atmosphere here in general was just relaxing and inviting. We got talking to the people at the table next to us and it turns out that they were regulars who lived in the neighbourhood and came here frequently because they had befriended the own. Meanwhile two buskers came by who played some mellow guitar music to add to the ambiance. Now I can finally talk about the food. We ordered a simple cheese fondue and it was wildly delicious. It came out very quickly and we enjoyed every mouthful. We were given plenty of bread to soak it all up and there was also a salad included so we could get some vegetables. Honestly my experience was so good here that I was almost sad to leave the restaurant at the end of the night. We wanted a memorable, final meal in Paris and boy did we ever get it. After eating here I feel fortunate like Alexander.
