So Much Fun! Our family (a group of 15 Americans!) had an amazing time at Les Fondus de la Raclette. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome. Our server was super helpful in picking out a mix of meats and cheeses--we ended up doing both fondue and raclette, and everything was delicious! The whole experience was fun and relaxed, and the staff really worked hard to make sure we had a great night. The service was so friendly and this joint was lively as hell! We ordered in French so language wasn't an issue. I took my teenager here for an authentic fondue experience and we left stuffed and happy. I got a basic cheese fondue and he got the Beef Bourguignon fondue in oil. Fantastic. The lightly dressed salad, baguette pieces, and charcuterie rounded it out perfectly. I personally would NOT recommend raclette here because they serve it in tiny pans in which you melt the cheese. The food was good there is just so much of it. I would recommend getting a price fix course and split it for two people. Half of us had the cheese and toast which was deliciousness. The other melted their cheese in a pan and then poured it over potatoes with charcuterie. The chocolate dessert was great. The only bummer is the heat from the fondue in an already warm restaurant was killer. I realize there's not much AC in Paris but a fan and ventilation would go a long way to customer comfort. read more

We made a reservation for dinner on Xmas eve. After a long day of traveling, we were looking to a nice dinner and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and patient. We ordered the 2-course dinner, we both started with onion soup and it was delicious. Next, we shared the cheese fondue and steak cooked on the table top grill. The beef was tender and lean served with 2 sauces. Fondue was served with potatoes and bread chunks. It also came with a salad. Short and sweet: After a long day of walking around Paris- what a treat! Place is not too big, but not too small. The table top grills make for a FANTASTIC raclette experience. They also serve a fondu that looked and smelled, out of this world! Steamed potatoes are refillable- which is nice, because the cheese is plentiful! I had the trio- HEAVY, but worth every bite! Second time in Paris and I wanted fondue so badly, like I want crêpe everyday. Today is Bastille Day (14 jullet that it is like Independece Day in USA) and I was worried that it was going to be closed but we took the chance and made it. Thank God!!!! My friend told me that I had to try raclette when I go to Paris. The term raclette derives from the French word racler, meaning "to scrape," a reference to the fact that the melted cheese must be scraped from the unmelted part of the cheese onto the plate. We went to les Fondus De La Raclette based on a recommendation from an employee at La Cuisine Paris where we took a macaron baking class. We order the Traditional Raclette with mixed green salad €21, Cheese Fondue with truffles, with chocolate fondue dessert €21, and the meat fondue with mixed green salad €21. For the traditional raclette, I put slices of meat and cheese onto the hot pan and melted it. Then, I scraped it off, onto my baked potatoes. It was delicious! For the Cheese Fondue with truffles, there's a pot of melted cheese on the heater at our table, and we used a stick to dip bread into the the melted cheese. For the meat fondue, you dip the meat into the oil to cook it. The food was delicious. There was so much food, we took a box to take some leftovers back to our flat. read more

Staying in the neighborhood, we wanted to find a local restaurant to grab dinner versus hopping on the Metro to the major spots in the city. We found this spot through Google Maps (not knowing that Yelp was available for Paris! LOL!). We arrived close to 10pm and the waiter had no problems with servicing us late. My friend enjoyed their pre-fixed menu which consists of a salad, a raclette or braserade, and a dessert, while I enjoyed a salad and the fondue. The food came out very quickly and the service was excellent even though we had a language barrier (us speaking English while he spoke mainly French.) My friend really enjoyed her braserade (grilled meat at the table) and I enjoyed my fondue (although I would have appreciated more than just bread to dip into it.) At the end, we enjoyed our last dinner in Paris and would come back again. P.S. Visiting Paris I knew I wanted to eat fondue the only question was where I was going to eat it. Staying in Belleville which is a cool neighborhood, but somewhat off the beaten path, I wasn't sure where I would be able to find it. My friend and I made a 9:30 reservation on thefork, which gave us a 30% discount. We ordered the cheese fondue and meat fondue and both were amazing. Our waiter was extremely kind and attentive and was curious about where we were from and didn't judge us for being Americans. Overall the food was amazing, and the service couldn't be better. Awesome place for dinner. We had no clue where to eat for dinner on Saturday night, so I looked on TripAdvisor and Yelp to find Les Fondus. It's just around the corner from the flat we were staying at. The place was packed when we walked in around 8pm. The man at the counter said it'd be about 30 minutes, so we went next door to the supermarket to grab some things before coming back. Total wait time was probably about 35 minutes, not too bad. We were seated at a shared table with two other people, but still spacious enough for the two of us. There's a grill in the middle of the table to melt the cheese, cook the meat, etc. We were clueless as to how this worked, but seeing the two guys next to us melting their cheese and putting it on their baked potatoes were really helpful. Our waitress didn't speak any English, but tried her best to show us what she was trying to say. We started with the terrine, which was the perfect size appetizer. The meal was so filling. We got fondue with the little cubes of baguette along with the super raclette. The meats that came with it were delicious and we also ordered an extra baked potato. The cheese was absolutely delicious. If we weren't so stuffed, we probably would've eaten more.. but wanted to save room for dessert. Creme brulee is delicious, but the MUST HAVE dessert (I don't know the name) but in translation means 'egg in snow'. It's a creamy, soupy custard with a fluffy meringue floating in it. YUM! My vegetarian friend and I were treated to dinner here for her birthday and it was sinfully delicious. She and I split a cheese fondue while her bf had a raclette platter with cheese, meat, and pickles. The raclette setup comes with a tiny little pan which you can put over the heater in the middle of the table to melt your own cheese as your please. The fondue just comes in a big pot. When I took my first bite I was surprised by my immediate detection of alcohol. When I remarked on this, the French bf seemed surprised, claiming that white wine is an essential part of any cheese fondue. You learn something new every day... We also had a nice white wine and a tasty chocolate fondue for dessert. As I was quote tipsy by the time the bill came and I wasn't paying, I don't recall if I thought the prices were reasonable. The extreme heat from the stovetop tables, however, was less than pleasant...the only negative of the experience. One of the best things I have ever eaten! The mushroom fondue was amazing and had the perfect balance of mushrooms and cheese. The crispy bread that comes as your vehicle also does not disappoint. The restaurant is one with cooktops in the middle so you are able to cook your own fondue and raclette. A fun experience while visiting Paris. We ended up at this restaurant since it was one of the few places open for dinner on a Sunday night in late August and was right around the corner from our apartment. So glad we did as it was so much fun! We ordered the formule (prix-fixe menu) and started with a salad with little toasts. The main course was, of course, raclette which you cook yourself on a grill that's built into your table - cooking meat and melting the cheese. It was super hot (the bottle of wine we split probably didn't help much with that either ;) but so much fun! For dessert my friend had the chocolate cake and I had the ile flottante (a meringue floating in a bowl of creme fraiche). Needless to say, at the end of the meal we were stuffed and happy. This restaurant really seemed popular with all types of people - there were a lot of families with kids, couples on dates, as well as some large parties of college-aged kids. The service was amazing - our waitress was so friendly and sweet, giving us suggestions about what to order and even showing us how to properly cook/prepare our meal when she saw that we were raclette novices (she even cut up my potato for me and pour my cheese on it - so adorable!). The decor of the restaurant is rustic and looks like you're hanging out in an alpine ski lodge - not exactly trendy and chic but fitting for what it is. And lastly, the prices were so reasonable, especially with the formule - it was easily the cheapest dinner we had in Paris. If you're looking for a casual, fun, food-filled night out with just about anyone, this is definitely the place to go! Absolutely loved it here. The prices are fair for the amount of food you get, I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off at all. The baked potato that comes with the fondue definitely helps fill your appetite, the service was good, friendly waitress & the food. Oh my goodness the food! It was absolutely delicious and so much fun getting to heat up our own cheese & scrape it out of the little pan to put it on top of the baked potato w/ the delicious meat. We each got the super raclette and at first it looked like it'd be too much food since it was our first meal of the day (it was like brunch time for us) but it was just so good we didn't have a problem putting a good dent in it and only had maybe a few bites left on each of our plates.
