It's a bit different from the Vietnamese places I've been to back in the states, but different isn't always a bad thing. I enjoyed the kind service from the staff everyone was accommodating me perfectly I've been in Chile all week and this was by far my favorite spot. This venue has nice ambience, featuring both a spacious inside and terrace. The pho had at least 4 meatballs but less (admittedly tasty) beef than I expected. However, I was surprised to see vermicelli-size noodles and the broth was less flavorful than I have had elsewhere. read more

This has to be the worse excuse for a Vietnamese Restaurant. Beautiful oriental ambiance set in a nice district but the decor and branding and reviews on Google doesn't justify what I had. I ordered the Traditional Pho on the menu and it tasted nothing like Pho. The soup tasted really bad, it was just bland brown and murky, the noodles used weren't right and the beef was thickly cut and way over cooked to a rubbery texture. The meatballs tasted like card board. Sorry but I strongly do not recommend anyone to waste their calories here. read more

As two American tourists who love seeking out creative Vietnamese cuisine around the world, we had chances to enjoy both lunch and dinner at Le Bistrot Việt--a warm-setting restaurant located in the heart of Galería Lastarria (a trendy quarter of Santiago, Chile). Its great food typifies a creative Vietnamese fusion cuisine in which Chilean taste as well as ingredients and climate are considered thoughtfully and Western plating manner prominent. After having a good lunch consisting of spring rolls, pho (Vietnamese beef noodle soup), and duck confit (in sweet and sour coconut curry sauce with lychee flavor and hints of ginger/galanga/lemongrass), we decided to come back for our last dinner in Santiago prior to our flight to Easter Island. Madame Kim's special Eggrolls (with shrimp and pork), Empress Scallops (in basil sauce), and Tuna Carpaccio (raw tuna salad with warm onion, sesame oil, and special soy sauce) were flavorful. My partner enjoyed tremendously his grilled Salmon caramelized with Passion Fruit sauce. Last but not least, the "Bitter Tea" mocktail (green tea in bitter lemon juice and spicy syrup topped with fresh mint) as well as the dessert (golden banana flambéed with rum & a rich fruit sauce on top of lychee ice cream) were unforgettable. We would definitely come back to Madame Kim's Le Bistrot Viet in a heart beat when returning to Chile for other not-yet-explored sightseeing. read more

Found ourselves in Santiago for NYE, and of course everything was closed. Desperately hungry from a day of traveling, we stumbled into this Vietnamese restaurant. First off, they squeezed us in without a reservation, thank goodness. And service was friendly yet extremely prompt, another amazing point. We had the shrimp spring rolls, which were my favorite of the night. The trio of sauces they came with were perfection. We also had the chicken rice noodles and the beef stew. The rice noodles are a bit on the sweet side, but great texture and variety of veggies. The beef stew had a very bold flavor, paired really well with the delicious fried rice. Highly recommend this restaurant - absolutely delicious! The bulk of staff appear to be French, so it's some sort of French/Vietnamese fusion, in Chile no less. So it's a fun blend! read more

Beautiful Vietnamese restaurant. The most upscale I have ever been to. Prices are very reasonable though. They grow their own vegetables and are trying to certify as organic. I had the traditional Pho which was very good except I didn't love the meatballs. Overall great place. read more
