The place calls your attention because it's so traditional looking and reminds me of the years that I lived here and Buenos Aires, where things were more chill and you could grab a coffee and spend the entire afternoon chatting with your friends over cigarettes and gossip. For American of course it's relatively cheap for local. It's not, but I got a huge cup of espresso coffee and a media luna with ham and cheese for half the price of a regular Starbucks back in the states. This place MAY NOT be open on a regular day and I got to experience why that might be the case in the future. I went to this place on Monday, May 23, 2022, completely looking forward to having a great breakfast, again, after visiting this location on the weekend. The sign on the door said we're closed because of lack of staff (in Spanish.) Today, on my visit, I was happy to find this location OPEN, but within 2 minutes I had to witness a worker by the name of Cynthia LOUDLY BERATING a young server (who served me on the weekend prior and provided stellar customer service.) I asked Cynthia if she was the owner of the establishment and she said "No." I went on to tell her in Spanish that I could not believe how she was yelling at the young service woman and that it was COMPLETELY uncalled for. Others in the restaurant were visibly shocked to hear Cynthia berate her coworker but no one said anything. I hope the owner of this wonderful establishment trains employees to treat each other with dignity and respect. The restaurant will be less likely to close if employees know they can come to work in a safe environment. At first I thought this corner boulangerie was going to be a misfire because it took them about fifteen minutes to reset my table and approach me with a menu and take my drink order. But I was pleasantly surprised by Isabel, a lovely server who was charming and helped me decide on the Pollo Crocante Salad which was superb. It comes with a Lentil spread and a generous basket of bread. Strong wifi and great weather and ambiance added to my enjoyment. Recommended for lunch and breakfast. read more

This small chain is the BA equivalent of Le Pain Quotidien. They make nice pastries, play classical music, and present their food nicely. I had their chocolate muffins, which seemed to have raspberries in them (?). We also tried their breakfasts and lunches. For breakfast we had scrambled eggs and homemade bread, as well as croissant with pastry cream. For lunch we had a chicken Caesar salad with egg, and a salmon quiche. They were both fine, breakfast won, hands down. read more
