We came here for our "last night in Paris" meal and had a really good experience. Our waiter spoke perfect English which was much appreciated as our French was quite limited. I ordered the sea bass and my husband ordered one of the specials which was also a fish dish. Both were very good. Visited Paris for the first time, and stumbled across this place while walking around the Eiffel Tower area. It was our first meal in the city, and my girlfriend and I were not disappointed in the slightest! The food was fantastic, the service as well (very nice, spoke English). Looks really nice and they are deceiving. We are adventurous eaters and through our two weeks of travel we have had exceptional good in a few different countries, including France. This wasn't one of them. We went fairly basic, I got the burger which h came out well done and the top bun was toasted so hard I could barely bite through it. Wife got the risotto and fish which came out with a a dollop risotto, the ravioli for our friend which was just cheese mush. The fries that accompanied my burger were said to be hone made but they were cold and didn't taste very fresh. If that concerns you, take a cab to the 14th arrondissement. The food is quite good here, and the service is excellent. Yes -- excellent. It takes a high degree of skill to wait on demanding people in a language that is not your own. Give them credit. We had no issues at all with our orders. As for the food, the duck confit is everything you'd hope for, especially with the little roasted potatoes. My wife had smoked salmon, which was a very nicely done slice of lox. Our first meal in Paris was here and we enjoyed it enough to come back a second time later that week. I thought the service was warm and tourist-friendly. Both times we were helped by this nice bald gentleman who wore reading glasses around his neck and really liked him. The atmosphere is light and contemporary but a little worn on the furnishings (mostly the booth seats). On our visits we ordered: rib eye, chateubriand, whole roasted seabass, and duck confit--I think the latter two are worth trying. Not that the beef dishes were bad but my suggestion is to order it cooked just like you would in the States. Prior to coming to Paris, I was advised to order meat as well-done if I wanted it to come out what we would consider medium, but that was not the case. Whatever variation of potato they serve you on the side (herb roasted, fries, or gratin) will be delicious. The house wine is very good and not expensive (4-5 euros). Never had room for dessert but they always looked tempting. I like that the menu had a mix of simple French classics (onion soup, duck) but also some familiar American favorites (roast chicken, cheeseburgers, etc). so I think this would be an ideal place if traveling with family or children. Overall this place is reliable for a pleasant, affordable meal. Open late some nights until 11:30, which is great if you are coming back from an exhausting all day tour and just want a good dinner in your belly before walking back to your hotel. read more

New to Paris, we stopped here for a quick bite on our way through the drizzle to see the Tour de Eiffle. Lovely lunch; both kids had burgers (huge!), I had the goat cheese salad (divine) and hubby had the bruschetta (not as expected and he wasn't a fan). Probably the best and definitely my favorite meal of my short stay in Paris--at least out of the meals not completely made up of baked goods. When I arrived, I wasn't yet that hungry, so I opted for an Aperol spritz. I had seen it advertised everywhere in Paris, so I figured I should give it a try, plus it would have the added bonus of stimulating my appetite for dinner. The spritz was super refreshing, not too sweet, and plenty boozy! Pretty much a home run. After polishing off the drink, I ordered the duck confit and a glass of wine, which were both fantastic. I have never felt more Parisian than sitting out on the patio of Le Bosquet, enjoying duck and some wine for a late dinner. The service was good, but really the combination of the food and the classic urban French ambiance is what made this a fantastic and memorable meal. My lovely girlfriend and I enjoyed our first New Year's Eve dinner together here while visiting Paris. The atmosphere was very good. Our waitress was attentive and kind. The place was packed (of course) and she appeared to be the only waitress. It was a fixed menu that evening but the big boss let my girl, who is a vegetarian, order off the menu. She had truffle risotto with mushrooms and a side of mixed veggies. It was delicious (I ate the last four bites). I had the steak which came with a side of veggies. Steak was good but not spectacular-it was a bit tough. For desert we had the chocolate cake which was very tasty. We left about 20 min before midnight and the big boss gave us another two cups of champagne to take with us to the Eiffel Tower for the light show. I had dinner here again and the exact same meal. The onion soup was amazing!! But the chicken and mashed potatoes were unfortunately extremely dry. My husband had ravioli a which were awesome & we both has chocolate cake which was perfect. Over all I would still recommend this place to Americans or anyone else. Super friendly atmosphere & the food is good 90% of the time from my experience. I wouldn't recommend the chicken after trying it twice. During our week's stay in Paris, we were fortunate to enjoy this lovely restaurant several times. Whenever we returned, staff greeted us as dear friends and ushered us to the best tables. It was fun to see the gentle competition among servers to see who would get our table. We ate at many restaurants during our stay but none was better than the Bosquet - this restaurant became our source for comparing other restaurants. Their Onion soup is milder (to me) - not quite as heavy or rich - as other restaurants we enjoyed. Also, their staff will work with you to order items not already grouped as a meal on their menu, so you can customize your dinner a bit without excessive cost. It's located on the corner of Bosquet and Champs du Mars, within easy walking distance to L'eiffel Tower (5 or 10 mins) and the Cler district (5 mins). Their prices are usual for this kind of restaurant. Dinner for two persons averaged about 55€ after 10% tip. As with other restaurants, be aware that each cup of coffee is charged as a separate item. I highly recommend the Bosquet Cafe to anyone looking for a great meal of traditional French cooking! read more

We came for the escargot (snails) and the duck confit. The escargot was absolutely delicious! It's definitely bigger than normal escargots that i've seen, but the flavor from the herbs and butter was perfect! one of my friend was very nervous to try the snails (her first time) but she ended up liking it! The duck confit was falling off the bone! The skin was crispy and the meat was so juicy! I had high hopes for this place and I really appreciate it's location for being so close to the Eiffel but I think my expectations were soon lowered throughout my dining experience. We were never given salt and pepper, I was never given a steak knife, my steak was tough, unevenly cooked, over cooked, and saltless. For the prices, I expected better but I guess that was just not in the cards. I don't think you should come here if you want a good dining experience that represents the potential of culinary greatness that Paris can offer. I do think you should come here if you're close to the Eiffel Tower, have low expectations, and want to check some things off on the ole Paris bucket list like eating escargot or steak frites but don't be fooled into thinking you will get a quality dining experience. read more

This was our first dinner in the city and we chose this place based on other Yelp reviews and its proximity to the Eiffel Tower. They have traditional French bistro fares served in a modern setting. Service was friendly and efficient. For dinner I had the escargot and goat cheese salad--both delicious and very satisfying! My husband had the entrecôte cooked to medium and he really enjoyed the simply cooked yet tasty meat. My boys shared the roast chicken served with mashed potatoes. This was our favorite gathering place for lunch and drinks, and dinner and drinks for the ten days we were in Paris. The 6 of us stayed in a fabulous apartment just around the corner from Le Bosquet. We fell in love with all of the waiters - laughing and telling stories. The food was always good, large portions with excellent wine selection. The ravioli dish was one of our favorites - tres riche! The advantage at Le Bosquet was their sidewalk seating area had walls on the side to block the wind so it was a pleasant experience. Service was typical of my experience in Europe, waiter was not friendly which I don't mind but was slow. I know that is the culture but still tough to get used to. Had the French onion soup which was very good as you would expect. Then had a chicken dish with mashed potatoes, forget the name but it was very good. I love this place! Although a bit pricey, Le Bosquet is a place that I will always go back to whenever I'm in Paris. The wait staff is one of the friendliest anywhere. My friends and I were here one cold, drizzling September night and the inside tables were not ready to accommodate 13 of us. The terrace was closed because of the weather but the owner gave us blankets and fired up the outdoor heaters so we can wait in comfort while our tables were being prepared. That was totally unexpected and made our night a very pleasant one. Every dish that we've tried at this place has been delicious! I'm an adventurous eater and I ordered the steak tartare and the waiter asked me two questions: "Do you know what that is?" and "Are you sure?" That's the first time that a waiter has asked me if I really wanted a dish and it made me really curious so I said yes to both questions. I was not disappointed. The dish tasted like a tasty beef sashimi and, although the pink meat scared me a bit, I was glad that I ordered it. The duck confit I was not impressed with but coupled with the red wine, that I asked the waiter's recommendation on, it changed into a tasty, smoky, tender, crispy treat that I would definitely order again. The French onion soup was an overwhelming blend of Gruyere cheese and onions that was very flavorful. The decor is a classy, modern setting inside and a relaxed, casual setting on the terrace. Look out for a little "closet" with a door in the inside of the restaurant where the wait staff duck into to grab wine in the cellar. When we stayed in Paris this summer we walked across the street to have dinner here. The service was great and the patio is of course a perfect setting for a night in Paris. The wine was amazing and the goat cheese salad was to die for. From the drinks to dinner to dessert we enjoyed every moment of it. Very disappointing after reading all the great reviews. The escargot were ok. But the steak Tartare was inedible which is a real shame for Paris (tasted like very vinagry ketchup). Served with fries that could have been made from frozen. My boyfriend had the filet de boeuf, which was ok but quite small and nothing special, which you would hope for at 29€ a piece. Served with a good gratin dauphinois but boiled tasteless vegetables. Service was ok but the manager lied and said service was not included. One of our better meals in Paris. We chose all French dishes here (though not intentionally) -- the escargot, gazpacho, duck foie gras, and a few other dishes (tbd...). We also picked up two carafes of their house white and rose; both were good and dirt cheap (about 12 EUR each). All dishes, especially the escargot and gazpacho, were superb. The service, on the other hand, was mediocre at best. We came in between meal times, around 2pm, on a weekday. We were one of only 3 groups in the entire restaurant, but it felt like we were a burden or inconvenience on the waiter for everything we needed. He did speak English, which helped, though. This is a small but cute and modern cafe in a quiet neighborhood location. There's s bakery across the street where they get their bread. Everything we had was fresh, the service was good, and the meal we had was really great. We just touristed out and did all the 'classics' like French onion soup, escargot, and steak frites with a Gorgonzola sauce. Everything was just great. Nothing too fancy but really well executed.
