A pleasant, humble and inviting establishment. Friendly staff and interesting clientele. If only they had non-alcoholic wine...

I was on the hunt for a small, family-owned establishment in the city center, specifically to have authentic home-cooked fare. And I found it in Kopi Kopi. The service was impeccable--Rojin and his family were always there to offer advice and answer questions--and the food was delicious. I loved it so much, I made a point to stop by a second time!! On the second visit, I had Soto Ayam. It's a soup, reminiscent of Pho, but with a distinctly different flavor profile. Chicken-base, with tons of fresh ingredients. On my first visit, with a colleague of mine, we got the Prasmanan Kopi Kopi special, which we split, and which was a feast! Don't miss out on the teas and special drinks they have. Your palate will be happily tickled by the unusual combinations of flavors. The fact that I went to Kopi Kopi twice in my week in Den Haag speaks volumes. Don't miss this restaurant when you visit.

Second, we ordered a variety of food, and the only thing that I thought was good was the rendang. The rest just didn't enough spices. So I'm in Den Haag on a business trip and I try to not spend a furtune on a dinner. Being a picky…read morevegetarian who is trying to go vegan life becomes a bit harder when deciding what to eat. So today I felt like getting falafel. After looking around on the internet I realized that there wasn't that many falafel places close to my hotel. But there was this one. So I took a walk from my hotel on Parkstraat, which was about a 15 min walk to get to the King Falafel. The place is located just of the shopping streets and not crowded at all. It's your typical fast-foof-over-the-counter place, which can be both good and bad. The place is quite small and the only place to sit is by the counter and like one high table for two people in the back, so not a place to stay in and eat at. That didnt matter for me, since I was set on bringing my food back to the hotel. So the food. I went for falafel in a pita. And it was amazing! The falafel is made when you order them, not even pre "shaped", they will scoop them up and fry them when you order them. Real fresch! The pita was nothing special, its your regular pita, heated before you get it. When your falafel is fried and your pita is heatened, you get your falafel and you can put what ever salad you want for their salad bar. Eventhough its a self service saladbar, its fresh! Lots off different things and a few differet sauces aswell. I went for the tahini sauce which was really nice! My conclusion. One of the best falafels I've had and it only cost me €4,95 for a pita with 6-7 quite big falafel in it. Not five stars though, since the pita could have been better. So if you are in Den Haag and crave falafel, this is the place to go! And I would definitely go back.
