We were offered menus, which were in English and French, and ordered at the counter when ready. I've been coming down with a cold, so I ordered Golden milk and avocado toast. The meal was very healthy, it came with quinoa salad and carrot slaw. Light, but a good little bit of protein for the vegetarian option. The Golden milk was very nice, the turmeric and ginger balanced out nicely, so it wasn't overwhelming. It helped me feel a little better and is a great way to warm up. They have a combo meal deal- drink, lunch plate, and dessert, but Golden milk isn't included with this option. My friend split her pistachio cake with me and it was delicious! I love pistachio anything- so it was a nice treat. It's a small and cozy little cafe and a nice place to take a break after touring the Palace.

It is popular with other storekeepers who come in an take their coffees. They have a large assortment of coffees which they roast in house, a large number of amazing teas, but I ordered the hot chocolate. So good!! It is exactly the kind of French experience that only very few are lucky to find. I will go out of my way to return.

Gontran Cherrier fulfills that void brilliantly. The sandwiches are very affordable and tasty, the cakes and "patisseries" are great. My favorite sandwich is the "black sandwich". For dessert, I highly recommend the lemon cheesecake, for instance. And then, coffee is excellent too, with again a large choice of danish or pastries to eat with. The employees are very nice. And unlike many bakeries in France, there is plenty of room to sit. After you visit the château of Saint-Germain-en-Laye and wander in the nice shopping streets, this is the best you want to stop for lunch or coffee.

There are sitting areas providing a nice shaded area. The server was detailed in taking time to get your order at the front and they call your number to pick up.
