My fiance enjoyed his beef but my chicken and avocado wasn't anything to write home about. The orange sauce added a nice kick and was way better than the avocado sauce. I don't think I would have loved the sandwich since the plantains are not sweet... And an open face tapas size we got were just fine. Also it gets very busy and crowded and the door doesn't lock properly so people just leave it open or it swings open - not great when you're eating next to the door and it's freezing outside.

When you order fish and chips you're not getting british 'chips' nor 'fries' - what you get are are french, homemade chips (meaning crisps). But that is fine with me. The chips were very tasty, as well as the tartare sauce. I did not care much about the little side-salad. At 11€ the fish and chips were also quite good value for money (for Paris). And then, there's the friendly people, always smiling and making you more of a fan of Cantine. I've eaten veggie burgers across Paris, and this place figures in the top three. It's a must visit, and the Cantine at Marche St Honoré has become more than a weekly affair. To sum up, the food and the people remind you of your close friends, and puts you in a comfort zone.
