We saw mostly workers and security guards walking through and a handful of customers. The whole mall has some kind of fragrance wafting throughout the whole place. It wasn't bad but I can see how some folks who are sensitive to it would be bothered by it. The shopping place was really bright, clean and what you would find in a Parisian shopping center. The public restrooms are very clean. There is a Starbucks in there too if you find yourself craving something like that. I am not sure but maybe since it's connected to the convention center people don't go in much except maybe if something is going on there?

Almost every designer you can think of is here, making this a must-see and a must-shop when visiting Paris. And it doesn't stop inside Galeries Lafayette--the entire surrounding area has stores for days! Lights, glitz, glamour, luxury, and fashion everywhere you turn. It reminded me of an upscale New York City 42nd Street, but with that beautiful Parisian elegance. Even if you're not planning to shop, go for the experience. While malls die all over America, retail still thrives in Paris. Exhibit A: Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. I've been to this department store a number of times over the years, and I both enjoy it and fear how completely it can suck up precious vacation hours. It's a fantastic place to shop, with a ton of well curated inventory spread out across multiple floors in multiple buildings. The main building features that beautiful domed ceiling, which manages to catch me by surprise every time I walk in. I haven't had the opportunity to shop for my own clothes here in a long time, but I've gotten some really great stuff on the children's floor, and discovered the souvenir section on my last visit, where I picked up some cool Paris Metro toy trains and magnets. We did somehow get stuck at Galeries Lafayette for over two hours and ended up skipping Notre-Dame, which might have been a better place to spend our last afternoon in Paris. But it was sale season, and my kids look super cute in their heavily discounted Petit Bateau. Galeries Lafayette is busy and sometimes overwhelming, but it's a wonderful department store. I wish we had something like it back home. I'd much rather shop there than fall for targeted ads on Instagram.

CNIT stans for Centre of New Industries and Technologies, it was one of the first buildings in La Defense which are the business area of Paris, I like to think of it as a Parisian Canary Wharf. I did find the lifts a little confusing and difficult to navigate at first. I did find the loud construction noises throughout during the daytime to be offputting, I get they have to do it sometime and it can be difficult with a hotel, but it just felt a little uncomfortable. The place is weird overall from having offices to shops and hotels, it isn't' HUGE but is a decent size, perhaps they're doing too much? 3* - A really nice building featuring some useful locations from Nespresso to Monoprix, and even a Hilton in a nice part of the city but it's only the start of your La Defense journey. They just congregate at one of the coffee shops and then move to the next coffee shop where they can continue their social time - which by the way lasts until lunch when they go somewhere else to avoid their office. After a two hour lunch, they might just take the metro or train home, because they do have a grueling 30 hour work week to fake so that they can earn their 16 weeks vacation time. Thank god for socialism, because these overwrought employees only have to do this for 20 years before they get 100% pensions. Whew! what a relief. I guess I am grateful this place even had a bathroom, as the Monoprix next door did not. It must get a lot of people who come for the bathroom without shopping at the store, which is why all visitors have to pay for the privilege. I had to go go go and was pretty stunned to get down to the Galeries Lafayette basement and find a fucking bouncer at the bathroom's entrance, sitting and watching us toilet hopefuls like Saint Peter at the pearly gates. She saw me coming with all of my need and pointed to a ticketing machine. I'd never encountered a ticketed bathroom before and lost valuable seconds in my confusion. I paid the €1.50 as fast as I could (honestly, I would've forked over whatever they asked), then walked through the turnstile, like at a Metro station, heading to the first stall like my train was about to leave. Have you ever executed a public bathroom visit with no witnesses and felt like you've pulled off the perfect crime? Well, this was like that, but the opposite. I'm pretty sure I made eye contact with both the bouncer and the cleaner who came out of my stall (at least they do keep it clean in there), and probably five other desperate customers coming in and out of this heavily trafficked all-gender bathroom. There was way too much scrutiny for what I had to do, and I doubt I can ever go back again. I did go to the main Galeries Lafayette an hour later, as I was in Paris during sales week, and it was great, a beautiful department store where I bought discounted Bonpoint and Diptyque like a classy American traveler. I don't think the Champs-Elysées is quite as marvelous, but unfortunately, I'll never know for sure.

The juice was decent and I was very pleased to see they used fresh ingredients, but not every drink works with boba. This was one of those times where it just did not. My husband also bought a bottle of coke, which cost 3.50 euro, which is very expensive for any food Court standards Next door, we got our first macarons of the trip from Pierre Marcolini. We tried the Dubai macaron, the signature one, the Noisette, and the most delicious of them all, the Framboise. They were all delicious and not too sweet, which I really appreciated. I loved every bite, but my favorites were the raspberry macaron with dark chocolate filling and the hazelnut one called Noisette. It was definitely worth the stop.

The Beaugrenelle is a really nice building, fairly close to my hotel and the Tour Eiffel, which…read morebasically is a high end shopping mall, with a large number of designer brands yet still outlets such as Hagen-Dans, Nike and Adidas seem here. The staff around the mall seem nice, it is quite a nice building in both parts, with there being a bridge to connect the two malls, which are located on the opposite side of the streets. Shops here also include a small high-street of shops, which is part of the mall but with only enterences from the street, this includes an Orange store which is recently closed for a refurb, a very poor branch of Mcdonald's and a fairly nice Pandora store. Due to high security alerts, there is a lot of security on here, near enough one in every shop including Marks and Spencer, and you will be seared when you go in, while someone will look in your bag and mainly use a detector, but considering the recent events in Paris which are devastating, you can understand why and it is putting people's safety first, and I don't have a problem with that. The lifts are also pretty cool, on the left hand of the mall, playing music as you ride in the lifts, however on the right side sadly they are not, with few lifts seeming to be very small and move very slow, meaning if you actually need it with a pram or wheelchair it can be hard and frustrating and take ages just to go up a level, I know how painful this is, I've even been stuck in a lift before having only needed to get up 4 steps, and was there for an hour, which is a similar, albeit more extreme example. Beaugrenelle might be a small building, but they do have some really nice places inside, including a Monoprix which was opened today and is classed as part of the mall, despite not being directly in it, which is quite a nice supermarket/department-store which also has a cool looking Starbucks Coffee inside. There even is a cinema here, making it the perfect place to spend an hour or two, and even admire the building, as it is a really nice place, both of them are and it even contains one of 14 Marks and Spencer store's in France, which is a total dwarfed by 852 stores in the United Kingdom. They have free-wifi as well with no sign-up required other than accepting the terms and conditions, which is good and still easy to do if you have no knowledge of speaking french, Overall, this is a really nice mall and I count myself lucky infact to have it so close to my hotel, as it is so easy to pick up essentials with many large stores, including Monoprix who have a self-juicing orange machine and Marks and Spencer who have a great gluten free range and even english labeling, so I'm pleased to give this mall a solid 4 star rating!
