I published this review on Trip Advisor and changed it slightly to post it here. Sadly the…read moreproprietor responded to my Trip Advisor post but failed to address the important issues...he only wanted to point out how rude my ski club was. I can't express how uncomfortable I was staying here...I spent two days shivering due to lack of shower & hot water. I hope to prevent anyone from going through the same experience! I had the unfortunate experience of staying here with my ski club. None of us had showers in our rooms...that's right...NO SHOWERS! There is a hand-held sprayer and a tub--no shower curtain or doors, so the water goes everywhere. My dog groomer has a better setup than the bathrooms in this hotel!! Worse yet...there was NO hot water. What trickled out of the spout could BARELY classify as "luke warm." It was just to the point where it's bearable for about 5 minutes before you start shivering. Believe me after a full day on the slopes, the worst thing is not being able to take a hot shower. They have a jacuzzi, but you must reserve it ahead of time...otherwise the door is locked and you cannot get in. The bed was actually fairly comfortable...except that my feet hung off the end...and I'm only 5'3"! Several members of my club complained they had dirty sheets & towels. My sheets had cigarette burns. DO NOT consider staying here if you're not fluent in French. None of the staff speaks a word of English or any other language that we can determine. I attempted to order a sweet wine at dinner and ended up with a disgusting brandy because of the language barrier. The proprietor is unbelievably rude. The night we checked in, someone couldn't determine which room was theirs...at around 1 o'clock in the morning he began randomly opening people's rooms, barging inside and asking the lost patron,"is this your room?" People were sleeping in their rooms and he just barged in!!! Why couldn't he check his register to see which room the guy belonged in? One of our group members committed the faus pas of being 30 minutes late checking out of their room (10:30 instead of 10:00)...the proprietor actually barged into their room, began chucking their stuff in their bags and then tossed their bags and snowboarding equipment out into the hallway!!! The cleaning staff hadn't begun cleaning any of the rooms yet...there was no reason for this behavior! The wait staff in the restaurant were somewhat friendly but only spoke French. We were charged an extra dinner meal because the proprietor didn't understand we were arriving very late Friday night and would not make it for dinner. Overall this is the worst hotel I've stayed at in Europe considering how expensive it is.

She told me what time breakfast was, and I asked her to confirm we had breakfast included in our reservation. She checked, and we didn't. The she said: don't worry, I will add it to your rooms. Didn't mention any price, so I thought she was being nice and adding it for us. We all had breakfast the morning after, and when we went to do the check in, they charged us 90 francs for our breakfast (that's over $90 American dollars !!!) . I would never had spent this amount of money for a croissant and a machine made cappuccino like we all had at the hotel. Switzerland is the last place I thought something like this would happen :/

Our host actually USLounge recommended this restaurant in particular and said it was the most traditional food in the small town. We went in for dinner and it was very busy. I highly suggest you make reservations because it's a small restaurant and fills up quickly. We managed to fit in a reservation for that night. We started with some hot wine. It was freezing outside so this drink certainly helped. The dinner menu was pretty big. I wasn't sure with what to get it what some things were so I just went with my first choice. I got the veal with veggies and potatoes. I'm not sure how exactly to explain how the veal tasted because I've had veal many times but this one was exceptional ! I highly suggest trying the veal.

Yelp Review 2026 #153:…read more Probably my favorite hotel stay while in Switzerland. The location is super convenient. It's right across the street from the train station. There are bus stops a few feet away depending on where you're going and which bus you're taking. There are lots of restaurants and cafes in this area. The hotel is beautiful outside and inside. I'm also about smells - this hotel smells fresh and clean. We left our backpacks here when we arrived in the morning and did the preliminary check-in process so that when we came back to check-in in the afternoon, all we had to to do was grab our room key and our backpacks. The lobby is quite nice. There's a beautiful restaurant with a nice view of the lake. There's a nice gym on the top floor. You can workout with a view of the lake. There's a spa area. However, it's uncomfortably hot in the gym. The room was beautiful. It was spacious and we had a balcony with a table and chairs so you can enjoy the view while eating breakfast or a snack. The fridge has bottles of water, soda and juice. There are also bottles of water on the nightstand. The bathroom is quite small. L'occitane toiletries. You get robes and slippers. Plenty of TV channels from all around the world. As long as I get British channels, I'm all set. And American shows dubbed in a different language is always funny to me. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. It was very quiet. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

I have been traveling thousands and thousands of miles for 24 hours including an hour and a half train ride to get here and I'm sitting in the lobby falling asleep because my room is not ready and it's almost 3 o'clock in the afternoon. European hotels always know you're arriving early in the day and I've even checked in at some hotels around 11 to 12. . I'm titanium. I stayed over 100 nights last year at Marriott and I'm just not going to do that this year because they just don't have the service that they should have for someone that stays that many nights. The desk is very busy now checking people in and I'm pretty sure I'm sitting here forgotten not to mention that my room rate included breakfast and I appreciate the upgrade. They gave an upgrade to me based on my status, but when they did that, they dropped off my breakfast that was included with my room. I don't eat much for breakfast anyway, so it is what it is. I'm not gonna argue with them since they seem to think I'm making it up. I've been coming here because I came here with my husband who died recently, and I've been coming here in his memory to Switzerland once a year and I've been coming to the hotels that he and I stayed at, but I think perhaps it's time to make new memories and find new places to stay.. I definitely think it's not suitable for the price.
