The tour manager recommended we travel into the old town center. I found this restaurant through Yelp and their Rosti varieties plus the food quality are exactly what I needed for a lunch stop. The Rosti did not disappoint. Full disclaimer: Rosti can be a bit heavy with the cooking process that can include butter along with some bacon. Yes, the Rosti had the expected greasy texture, but just enough to make it savory without overpowering the various ingredients. I would recommend this restaurant if you are interested in trying the traditional Rosti dish in several varieties.

Pumpkin soup, spiced beautifully for the season, was creamy, soft, and warming. The chicken ballotine stuffed with herbs and laid over filling red lentils cooked in sultry demi-glace. To pair, the wine list is expansive and filled with Burgundy, at suitable prices. Castel de Tres Girard's on the must-do list for any trek on the Route de Grand Cru.
