Either way, the floor-to-ceiling windows provide a picturesque view of Burgundian Grand Cru vineyards along the ridge above. In fabulous style, the service is perfect, unobtrusive, yet generous. For lunch, it's hard to go wrong with the Menu du Jour, two plates for 19E, three for 25E. The rabbit terrine, expertly made, rich and nuanced, served with a biting whole mustard. Pumpkin soup, spiced beautifully for the season, was creamy, soft, and warming. The chicken ballotine stuffed with herbs and laid over filling red lentils cooked in sultry demi-glace. To pair, the wine list is expansive and filled with Burgundy, at suitable prices. Castel de Tres Girard's on the must-do list for any trek on the Route de Grand Cru.

We walked in and sat down at our table. There were no English menus and no one on staff spoke English. Which isn't a federal offense...I mean we were in France...but they acted very dismissive of us and were not inclined to try to explain dishes etc so we could figure out what each dish was. So we left. Nothing worse than dismissive people. So unless you speak perfect french...dont go

The Cepe (mushroom soup) which was in season as all the restaurants seemed to have it - theirs was the best I've had. The first night we did the tasting menu which was not only beautifully prepared but tasted amazing. My only complaint was I ate too much!! Oh and they have a Fabulous wine list!! 800 or so on the list! The second night we created our own tasting menu...Damien and Adrien were terrific servers - enjoyed talking with them immensely. And you can't forget the marshmallow experience at the end of the meal. Makes you feel like you are in a scene from Willy Wonka! Will go back next time we are in Burgundy!!
