Here the food (like pizza) is below €30 per item and the wine can be ordered by glass only (why not sell these wines per bottle?) The quality of the food we had was OK but we will not return to this place because we know of better value places around. There is a jewellery store at the premise and one or two guards (?) overlooking the place (is that for the jewels or for the guests?).

I had the tartare while my daughter had the smoked salmon to start and then she had the turbot and I had the lamb. Everything was delicious but the cuisine is less homey relative to what it used to be. It is definitely more of a fine dining experience up on the mountain so would make your plans with that in mind and not for a very short stop.

We were lucky enough to be seated in a private seating area with a small fireplace lounge and table for about 10 people. While we didn't have outside views it was a quiet area where we could remove or boots and relax for an incredible meal. Let me start by saying this is not an inexpensive place. Our group of 7 people rang up a bill of just over 700 euro for a full meal including a couple of bottles of great wine. Totally worth it though. We started with an award winning pate recommended by our waiter. I'm not a big fan of pate, but maybe because I've never had anything like this before. A description of this treat defies me as it was a mixture of pate and foie gras sandwiched between an incredibly flaky pastry with other stuff? I have it in a picture so you'll have to take a look. We also had some prawns with orange/caramel sauce that were also amazing. They have a number of "shared" meals for two, so our group took advantage of it and ordered fish (Turbot I believe), suckling pig shoulder, and a beef rib that was more like a bone-in steak. All were delicious but my favorite was the beef, it was perfectly cooked with an amazing rub. We finished everything up with a marshmallow plate they brought out and some coffee as we had to start our way back to Val d'isere. Overall an extremely memorable meal and experience I will absolutely hope to repeat again someday.

My son had the grilled bacon cheese burger. We asked for well done, and it was medium. This is why I always ask for well done when outside the USA, because that's as "well" as it's going to get. My son loved it, as did I of my meal. The service is very French, which is to say not overly warm, nor extremely curt. However, we did feel rushed, like they were turning tables. At one point the waiter was taking the plate of food away from my son, and he said "I'm not done". We were sat indoors, but it's like outdoors because it's all a glass enclosure and right next to the front entrance also next to the place the waiter place their orders with their computer, so it was pretty chaotic. We were not given a choice on seating or asked, and we were grateful just to find food as the majority of type restaurants were closed. When we entered, we stood a foot away from the table we would eventually be seated at, and no one was at the station (host or waiter). Eventually a girl came to stand by it, she gets on her phone next to the station. i asked her if she worked there, she said yes and put her phone in her back pocket. Then I asked if we could be seated , and she proceeded to put us next to where she was standing. At one point, my son said to me, how many table to do think this place has, 75?? I said, no about 40, based on where we were seated and the little that I glimpsed of the inside from the "front door". "Well" he said, "they must have at least 40 chefs in the back, because the food came out super fast" (which was great because we were super hungry). They gave us complimentary bread that was delicious, and olives while we waited, and all other tables received that too. Finally, before leaving I went to the bathroom, and the place was huge, with upstairs seating looking outside to the street and beautiful. I would have preferred sitting there in all honesty as there was plenty of space, but was never given the option . So, morale of the story, you gotta ask for more because it will not just be handed to you no matter how nice you are.

We ate at Le Clos Bernard in the middle of the week last week.  We had an early reservation for 4…read moreat noon, and we arrived about 15 minutes early, as I wanted to allow ample time for the varying levels of ability in the group. We were greeted warmly and, as I assume, they were putting the finishing touches on the dining room, shown to the lounge area for an apero. Once we finished our drinks, we were shown to our table in the charming old building, and proceeded to have a wonderful lunch.   We found the service impeccable and the whole experience something you simply can't find at a ski resort in Colorado, where we saved one place (Alpino Vino in Telluride).  Prices match the experience at Clos Bernard; expect to pay upwards of 100 Euros per person for lunch, but the food and, more so, the experience seem worth it to me. For that price and a touch more, we had a lovely bottle of Burgundy recommended by the sommelier, drinks for the girls who shared a steak and fries, while my wife and I had a massive raclette, and we finished off with desserts for 2. I would highly recommend Le Clos Bernard, based on my experience and some other reviews I read online. Aim for an earlier reservation to limit the variables on how long lunch can take for those enjoying themselves in front of you.  Also, be prepared for a bit of a ski out after lunch. I was either incompetent or the internet reviews are delusional about the 30-second uphill.

As mentioned by other reviewers, this is the second, more casual restaurant in the hotel, with the other being the 2 Michelin starred tasting menu at Le Chabichou. Our breakfasts were so good, with fresh fruit, house-made breads, and even home made jam every morning. My wife and daughter love the perfectly poached eggs they would have made to order. The staff were very friendly, and seemed to speak with customers in French, English and Russian. Our dinner there was also very delicious. They gave us an amuse bouche to start off the evening. I had sole menuire, perfectly cooked. The ingredients seemed so fresh in all our dishes. At the end of the night, apart from complimentary macaroons and house made chocolates, they also gave us a shot of a local liqueur called Ginepi. Pretty good stuff! Finally, while so many restaurants can be a bit pricey in Courchevel 1850, this restaurant seemed to be a relatively good value.

This restaurant is located inside the Hotel Chabichou. The entire operation is a true family business, from the owner of the hotel, the bartender, the cooks are all part of one family. The staff was very welcoming and very attentive to all of our needs. They gave great recommendations and the restaurant had live entertainment both Saturday and Sunday night. The entertainment on Saturday was much better than the one on Sunday and they played many English songs from the 90's. When we first arrived, the restaurant was empty. Within the next hour and a half, every seat in the house, including their upstairs balcony seating was full. We didn't make a reservation but the female host was very gracious in allowing us to dine at their restaurant. They started us with a small plate of cooked meats that was complimentary. Escargot - 12 snails cooked in a walnut garlic sauce with parsley. Very good. Lettuce heart salad - Came with smoked bacon, a poached egg and parmesan croutons. The dressing they used was perfect. It was a light vinaigrette but had so much flavor. Crab Nems - Crab STUFFED egg rolls. Deep fried and served with lettuce leaves, mint and the plate is drizzled with Tom Yum sauce. The rolls came out hot and crispy. The sauces were great and complimented the dish very well. Wok of Prawns - Stir Fried prawns in a light soy sauce with assorted vegetables. The dish was seasoned to perfection and not overcooked. Lamb Shank - The shank was slow cooked and was extremely juicy and tender. The meat basically fell off the bone and was very well prepared. It was served with a side of creamy polenta. Spit Roasted beef - In other words, prime rib. I guess they don't use horseradish in France. I definitely could have used some raw horse radish. When they said spit roasted beef, I wasn't expecting Prime Rib. Despite that, the meat was cooked really nicely and the au jus that accompanied the dish was great. For dessert we had the Apple Tartine and the Eclairs. The Apple Tartine was average and found all over France and was not memorable. The eclair on the other hand was delicious. We ended up ordering 2 orders of this after we had finished the first. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise and I would definitely go back the next time that I'm in Courchevel. We enjoyed the food so much the first night, we came back for seconds the next night. We heard good things about the restaurant Chabichou which is located in the same hotel so we will have to try that restaurant the next time.

Opted for outdoors cause the weather was nice. Ordered the pizza with fontina cheese, a cheese local to this region, ham, and tomato sauce. Pretty basic pizza but it tasted quite good. Tomato sauce went well with the fontina cheese. My friend has a pizza w/o tomato sauce, but I thought mine tasted better. Also had a mixed salad that consisted of carrots, tomatoes, mixed greens and added the basalmic and olive oil for the dressing. After 4 days of hiking and unhealthy eating, a salad has never tasted so good. Also ordered a lemon soda, which came in a can. It still tasted pretty good although I was hoping it would be freshly made. Food came out pretty quickly and service was fine.
