I absolutely adore gorgeous glassware and had this on my list to stop in, and Christmas Eve, when I was picking up an order at Oakmont Bakery, literally a block away, presented the perfect opportunity. I go to Oakmont every so often and wondered how I'd never seen the shop; it's tucked away off of a side street that you might not happen upon unless you knew to look for it. Once you find it, though, it's absolutely enormous inside, with tons of glassware on display and a studio. And people definitely know about it, because there were plenty of them there shopping on Christmas Eve. Amanda herself was on hand, offering to answer questions or serve a glass of wine. She's so talented! The glassware is absolutely stunning. So many colors and themes. I bought two large wine glasses, one with a Grinch theme that I plan to gift and one in a Christmas red and green swirl theme, and two stemless in the fun Steel City theme with an abstract Pittsburgh skyline. When you take your purchases to the register, they ask you how you are planning to gift them so they know how to package them together, and have paint splattered bags and appropriately matching tissue paper to package them in, complementing the glasses themselves. So fun and instantly ready to gift. The glasses were about $19 each which is so reasonable. You can also order online. The kitchen has been a pleasure to cook in and was featured in a NY newspaper article on renovations. More recently she helped with the selection of new furniture including a custom couch and reading chair that harmonize with existing pieces. I love sitting in that chair! Prices are low to moderate. For example, I thought that the prices for sheets and quilts were much lower than what competing stores charge. My husband waited about one hour while I shopped in this store. I kept wandering around the numerous aisles, and we lost each other! I sent him repeated text messages, and eventually he found me. I picked out seven products for my kitchen and dining room. At the checkout, the cashier immediately greeted me, correctly scanned my products and charged me, carefully wrapped my breakable dishware, and thanked me.

This is a great place to get plates, napkins, matching plastic silverware, and tablecloths for any occasion. I also have purchased their small clear plastic decorative cups when I made pudding cups or cheesecake shooters that were individual serving sizes. They have plastic wine cups too that are great for large parties when you don't want to use all your glassware. Most recently I have visited here to get balloons filled. I didn't know that they offered this service until I called to check. I already had the balloons and ribbon, but they suggested I drop them off earlier in the day and then pick them up around 4:00 before they close, and before my event started. The latex balloons only last about 6-8 hours. It cost only about $1 to fill up each balloon. The drop off/pick up process was smooth and the workers there are SO nice! I don't know the guy's name that has done my balloons the last two times, but he is the best! So friendly and makes it easy! He even puts the balloons in a bag so they are easy to get in the car. They returned the extra balloons and ribbon both times. None of the balloons popped, and they all held up during the full events. I am so happy to find this local place that is close to the city and convenient for my events. I definitely recommend stopping in here just to check it out!
